Jang Dong-gun is featured in the newest commercial (CF) for SK Telecom’s campaign, “Thinking in T” (loose translation of “생각대로T”) to promote it’s video mobile services.
The sexy actor hangs out in a bathtub in the middle of a room (and yes, we all have bathtubs in the middle of a room), looks at a magazine with his face on its pages, and decides to catch up via video with his friend since he is bored and lonely. The concept is supposed to be cute, but it would be alot better if he was naked in the tub. That would promote video phone service. After all what are tubs for?
The second SK CF is much cuter - Jang Dong-gun video phones his momma while wearing a bear head.

He did okay in “Promise.” But I think he was a brilliant actor in “Taeguki” and “Friends”. “Typhoon” is a good movie but it gotten predictable in present plot. The past plot was really sad.

I love this new SK CF. DG is so adorable and hot here I think the theme for the CF is be carefree, hence the bath tub in the middle of the room and everything does not look very tidy. Irregardless, being able to look at his cute face is more than enough for me !!!

I have never seen All About Eve (yet).
A comment about the infamous ‘Promise’: I thought the movie was pretty bad. It was “pretty” but it was bad. LOL. Special effects were embarassing, story was convoluted, acting was horrible. However, I really don’t think JDG was that bad. Actually, I think his performance is pretty under-rated in that. Kunlan (the slave chracter he plays) has a gentleness and humility that is very admirable. I saw one review where someone wrote that all the actors did a lousy job and “Jang Dong Gun just looked dumb”. I don’t think he looked dumb. Kunlan is a character who lived with a pure heart, like a child. He was motivated only by the desire to serve others and do no harm to anyone. That’s why Kunlan is the true hero of the story. I thought JDG did a very good job bringing across the purity of Kunlan.
And again speaking about his best works, don’t forget ‘The Coast Guard’!!

He’s one Korean hunk that I find seldom overact…and yes even in super lousy Promise, albeit the script was soo wrong, silly, horrendous, pretentious and everything else, he still delivered. I was amazed. It took a seriously intelligent and talented man to understand that underwritten of a role, acted it out with conviction and made us connect with his character in the midst of the whole awful mess.

JDG is so adorable in this CF.
Just attended his bday party last March 8 and I was lucky enough to meet him in person. I was really shocked becaused JDG looks 10 years younger than his real age and 10x more handsome in person. He’s really a very nice and humble person. When he smiles, he looks very boyish. And he is indeed a very shy person which is quite unbelievable considering he’s a superstar in Korea.
So to those people questioning why he’s so hot and well loved by Koreans, It’s because he’s really very good looking in person, a very talented actor and very much down to earth person.
Jang Dong Gun is so cute. Actually, he’s always cute in all his CFs. I love this man very much.
It’s my first posting here and I just want to say that I was blushing when I saw this commercial on TV when I was in South Korea. It was right after me and my friend attended Jang Dong Gun’s birthday party.
He is much much more handsome and young looking in person than how we see him in prints and in the tv. He looks so angelic and shy type of a guy. Before seeing him in person I was a bit worried that he might be getting old (his looks i.e.) and getting somehow thin.. Thinking he might need to get married somehow so that someone may take good care of him..
But when I saw him in person.. all my worries for my beloved JDG disappeared. He still looks like he’s in his early twenties. His built is just fit for him.. he’s not that muscular but it looks just right for him.
Seeing him in person and celebrating his birthday together made me love him more. I really hope by next year I could join his birthday celebration again.
Like what he said in his latest comm’l- even if there would be many upcoming handsome juniors, he would just use his talent/skills. Undoubtedly he could because for me he is one of the most talented actor his country has produced. I love Korea because of him..

Hi MAX. like what mel told you, you need to join JDG’s official fan club. There’s an annual fee but i feel it’s just minimal considering you’d then be part of his official fan club. And they send you an ID and other stuffs in return which for me, is like an added bonus.
I really love the themes of his commercials lately. They are light and a bit humorous.. I really stayed tune during comm’l breaks when I was watching tv while I was in South Korea, so that I could see him in Max and SK Telecom comm’ls. Just seeing those comm’ls gave me good night sleeps.^O^
