@ Jackie

I just don't know why it's an issue at all. We have to call ourselves Americans. What other option do we have?? Since our country is called The United States of America, what would we call ourselves if not American..."Unitarians"? "Staters"? Nothing else works but "Americans". People from Mexico are Mexicans, people from Korea are Koreans, people from Argentina are Argentinians, people from Tanzania are Tanzanians. The USA doesn't have that kind of name--we have to be called Americans. Nothing else fits. I don't think this should even be an issue. It's seems to me that it's only an issue for people who have some anti-American prejudices and want to find fault with us at every turn, so they accuse us of somehow being "imperialist" and "stealing" the name American. What utter and complete bullsh*t this is.

Isn't Hines Ward part Korean?

I too like that they go to Korea. Korea is an interesting and dynamic country, and outside of my own country Korea is my favorite. (I just have issues with their music industry, that's all) I'm glad that Korea is getting some attention through American celebrities going there. When I went for my first visit last year I couldn't believe the negative comments I would get from people when I said I was going. It's weird how Americans have not a clue about Korean culture, food, or entertainment industry--nor do they seem interested in learning. I really think the average American thinks Korea is a country full of rice patties and dry cleaners.

Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and Vince Carter visited Korea as well. Of course Hines Ward visited Korea too. This is good for Korea as well because when people visit, they will know about Korea and spread the word about Korean culture.
