Aside from the USD500k, Rain is getting a percentage of the gross receipts from the movie.
And even if he’s ‘only’ receiving USD500k, it doesn’t matter. He may have a superstar status in Asia, but in America he’s still an untested actor. USD5000k + percentage in income is still a big deal. Ask any newbie actor in the US.
