One of the reasons–I now understand–that BYJ has the most ardent fan base among all the stars in Korea is that he has them convinced they are his “family” (whatever THAT means) and has even “joked” that his fans are like “a mafia”. It’s a clever way to build a loyal cult following: convince the masses that you feel as close to them as if they were your own flesh and blood, and then assure them that NOTHING they ever see or hear is real/true/factual unless it comes straight from HIS mouth only.
This is why BYJ has the most undying, loyal fans in the business. And this is why they never, ever judge him. Not even when evidence of his lying and bullying is right in front of their faces.

You don’t tell us to believe otherwise cos we have proven
that he is deserving for years. You don’t say you like him
for just months and say you don’t believe him because
of just one incident that you believe he was wrong.
He’s done more good things and should not take away
the credit from him for being a good person bec you
believe you are right and he was wrong.
This is going anywhere so Dumpling, you can stop liking
Yong Joon. No one is forcing you to like him or believe

is not LJA, we believe him because he never lied to us.
He may keep some secrets for himself but that doesn’t

This new event involving the paparazzi photos of him with LJA is what has me ticked off at him for the first time. That is because I don’t care how much I like someone, as soon as they show themselves to be a liar (and a bully on top of that) then all bets are off. I would not be calling BYJ a liar if I didn’t ABSOLUTELY believe he (by way of BOF) is lying about the photos. His statement issued by BOF also claimed BYJ was “harmed” by the so-called “false reporting” about the photo. This is childish, manipulative, bulls*ht. How in the world is he HARMED by this? He isn’t. What’s at issue here is that he is, in effect, LJA’s *boss* (because he’s the head of BOF and she’s under BOF management) and he doesn’t want it out that he’s shtupping her, that’s what it is. He also wouldn’t want it to appear that she’s getting jobs through BOF because she’s shtupping the boss. This predicament is as old as the hills. They all need to grow up. Good for him if they are dating. They are both adults. They are doing nothing wrong. It’s the lying and bullying that’s outrageous.
