Holy chipmunks! Ex-H.O.T member Kangta has transformed into an ajusshi in front of our very eyes. The 29 year old singer has not even come out of the army yet and he looks like he is bursting out of his cheeks. What is going on?
Perhaps the thought of doing his military service has made him pack on the pounds for extra fuel. You know that food in the military is less than appetizing and they give you only 5 minutes to eat. So having said that, perhaps the pounds will melt off when he comes out in 2 years.
Let’s hope so.
Kangta held his last concert, “Eternity” at Yonsei University on March 29th and 30th, 2008. He will be shipped off for his mandatory military service on April 1st, 2008.

The super close-ups they do at these press conferences never look right either. You have certain idol stars looking like zombies with dull eyes and shining red lips, and others looking aged with the overlighting, among other things.
It always made me wonder though, especially when it was Kangta + Vanness; Vanness always looked a bunch younger, even though he was a year older. O.o Hope Kangta comes home soon; I’m really going to miss his singing. ;-;

It doesn’t really matter if he gained weight or not, since I am sure he will lose the weight when he serves his military service. I personally think it’s not a dumb move to gain some wait beforehand, since you’re likely to have lost weight when you have returned, and why not enjoy the good food now?
Everyone ages, so I don’t see what’s the big issue about a sudden change.

People forget that the main reason Kangta was able to break into the Korean music and acting scene was because of his father’s connections. Quite frankly the man is not a good actor and is a mediocre singer, and as these photos show he is not a particularly handsome man.
Still, I refrain from being too harsh on the guy. I’ve always been critical of Korea’s obsession with pretty boys, and if I had his connections I might have used them to break into the industry as well.

he looks a little chubbier than usual but as far as the cheeks go…they have always been there. look at any of his album covers or old videos from the hot days. he just has very defined cheeked bones. it helps to make him more distinguished. i still love my kangta no matter what he looks like by the way

No offence, but are you seeing right, Hee Jun didn’t look old on Star Golden Bell, and even the people on programs and interviews says he looks good, and KangTa is probably just tired, i was never really atracted to KangTa and i agree his face has change a lot, but i wouldn’t say he’s ugly. Places like this and allkpop alwyas find the worst and most awkward pictures to post.
