FT Island’s trip to Malaysia was supposed to be an opportunity for the boys to meet their Malaysian fans and have a good time. Instead, it turned out to be a major disappointment, for the band and fans alike.
According to fans, their autograph session on March 29th was disorganized to say the least. The boys did not arrive on time, the bodyguards were rude and the organizers only allowed fans with the “right” import CD version to receive autographs. On top of being extremely late, FT Island boys showed their face for only 15 minutes, angering fans who waited for hours. How considerate.
Then, the next day the FT Island’s concert was canceled the last minute without any explanations. Nobody knows whether the promoter, the management company or both are at fault, but the damage was already done. FT Island’s reputation was tarnished and fans were disappointed.
Incidents like this makes me wonder if Hallyu stars are truly ready to branch out of the Seoul comfort zone. What do you think?

awwww, poor boys, f.t. island fighting!!!!
also wanted to say this…i don’t think it’s really their fault, i mean I guess is the manager’s fault and the staff, like it doesn’t depend on the boys to stay longer at an interview….
shame…that’s such a disappointment..stupid organizers are tarnishing their fanbase lol
poor fans but i dont thinks is their fault
i feel bad for the fans… they do not deserve to be treated like this.. and whats that about the autographs only being accepted on the right cd import.. thats bull and they know it…I don`t know anything about FT Island, but their management needs to get it together asap… poor fans
aw don’t blame the members. I feel bad for the fans but don’t blame the members.
poor them…though I’m not their fan…but after them getting booed by their antis…now this?!
AWWW…. HWAITING F.T. ISLAND!!! :]
you’re NEVER disappoint me~~~~ ^-^ ^-^ ^-^
reminds me of the recent peace concert that just got postponed for no reason…or something like the staff members didn’t work out. it’s the fans who are being sacrificial lambs here…they pay, they go, and get disappointed..f.t. island’s concert, the peace concert and awhile back, rain’s concert. seriously if this keeps up, i don’t know how they’re going to continue their hallyu wave.
the fans didn’t know about the cancellation until they arrived at the venue.
damn. i would be pissed as hell if that happened to me.
who the hell cares…boy bands are so a thing of the past. get over it.
^ uh yeah, tell that to south korea.
awww be nice ehoh and ash.
i read this on k-popped! and it was so sad.
but all the ft island fans arnt mad at the ft boys, their all mad at the ft island boys producers… their agency for canceling the show.
i do believe however that this cancellation made the ft island loose some fans. canceling their first concert must really piss some people off. especially the people who came form different countries.
anyways, i hope that the fans do understand that this is not the ft boys fault. i heard that they even asked their management to let them perform but the management was very disappointed in the hotel and fan meeting that they were just…. pissed??
well they better have something good for all the fans especially people form different countries.
i also heard that the ft boys are suppose to have a concert in Singapore…?!? i might be wrong.
everything i said is from k-popped. i believe they are big ft island fans too. so am i xD
haha.
well hope everyone in malaysia are ok with this cancellation.
Yikes. Sounds like the work of Star M.
That sucks.
I don’t think it’s that Hallyu isn’t ready.
But more like because this band is kind of still new.
And unstable.
They probably weren’t ready to go to Malaysia and have a fanmeet.
That was really random too.
But I don’t keep up much with this band anymore, so I wouldn’t know.
Best of luck in the future.
LATE arrival.
SHOW cancellation.
SCREENING for “bootleg” imports.
DAMAGE control.
FANS disgruntled.
FT Island becomes
“an ISLAND unto” THEMSELVES.
well, SH*T Happens.
reminds me of Rain’s last minute cancelled concert in the US!!
Their management company sucks. They should’ve been prepared days ago!!!
f word if i was a fan i would be so pissed i would hate FT ISLAND SO MUCH. LOL like if i went to a DBSK concert and waited 2hours to see them, and they were to cancel their concert that I flew all the way from AMerica from wouldn’t you BE SO PISSED THAT YOU WOULD WANT TO KILL SOMEONE?! OMG this is a dissapointment… FT iSLAND has just now tarnished their reputation like as of now regardless of who’s fault it was. It would like make me not want to go to any of their concerts anymore, knowing that something like this might happen again
gosh sorry for sounding so biatchy
Well, Rain’s was bigger, meaning its gonna give him harsher commentaries.
Anyways, I couldn’t call F.T Island “Hallyu star” yet.
They need to be grounded, bad bad bad boyz…
It’s not really F.T. Island’s fault. It’s basically the company producers and managers for not being prepared. F.T. Island may have their reasons for canceling at the last minute. I wouldn’t be mad at F.T. Island at all since they’re still new and they might have not been ready to meet their fans. I mean this has happened with other big stars and their concerts so fans shouldn’t be mad at F.T. Island. They should only be mad at the producers for canceling at the last minute and not announcing to everybody who were waiting very long for their idols.
“Yikes. Sounds like the work of Star M.”
I was just thinking the same thing Omo! lol. Star M strikes again
Poor boys. They work so hard but have no control over what goes on in their careers. Oh well. That’s the nature of the machine I guess.
Although I am not from Malaysia, I am curious about what happened that caused everything to be disorganized. I feel sorry for the fans and the boys since I am sure that both sides are disappointed about what happened. After all, no fans enjoy going through experiences like this, and the boys must be pretty unhappy about it, too. After all, it was the company’s fault for re-scheduling everything at the last minute, and for making changes without much brainstorming. Either way, I hope the company will come up with an explanation as to why nothing went right, and that they will apologize to the public. If that happens, I hope they wouldn’t be forcing the boys to do all the apologizing and explaining to their fans.
I feel really bad for the fans, but I also feel really bad for f.t. island. they were probably really excited to met their oversea fans…but then they can’t because of their management company or whatever. god, their management company must be really bad to screw up like that. but dude, if I was there, I’d be pissed off, but I’d still love them nonetheless. but pissed off.
and another question, WHAT are they wearing? they look so..different. I couldn’t recognize hongki with those glasses on.
i was a bit disappointed because i went for both fan meeting event and ‘the concert’.
i stood for almost 5 hours with empty stomach and swollen legs before the boys appeared.
the next day with hope to hear HONGKI’s voice i’ve been told that the concert was canceled.
THANK YOU ft island management (FTI & F&C)and the organizer (CI-ENTER) for RUINING everything:
the fan meeting event
the concert
the image Of FT ISLAND
the image of MALAYSIA.
I NEVER BLAME THE BOYS.IT WASN’T THEIR FAULT AT ALL. SO, I HOPE FANS WILL NEVER PUT THE BLAME ON FT ISLAND.
TO FT ISLAND…PLEASE COME BACK!!!
ouch, they sound horrible anyway, no talent><
so pity FT ISLAND n their fans too….
i dont think FT ISLAND fault……maybe their have the own reason….why must the concert have to cancel……
this situation make me remind Bi Rain…he also face the same matter when his concert in US cancelled last minute….
not only fans dissapointed but Bi too….
so what can i say……FT ISLAND maybe feel same…..
Do the people get compensation?
What a weird name…FT Island…
Aigo… poor ft island. Just from a personal experience I don’t think its their fault. They went to Thailand in
January (I think) for a mini promotional concert which I went to and they actually came on time. There weren’t any problems with the arrival to the stage at all. I guess it depends on the communication between the location, the boys’ management and the ppl in charge of the event.
The concert went really well and the boys did a great job.
Sooo this maybe just an unplanned incident??? They’re still new, more opportunities will come I’m sure!
Regardless of whether they’re a boy-band or whether they are talented; I think the bottom line is that only the innocent fans/music-lovers suffer in the end.
Being a Malaysian, I have LONG FORESEEN disasters like this befalling international acts coming to our country and that unfortunately is the truth. When TVXQ was here, their press conference was hours late but at least they stayed a while. The concert (my first) was about 40-mins late and security was so unbelievably tight you would think they were the Presidents.
While I think the management company definitely cannot escape parts of the blame; the problem lies primarily with their Malaysian contacts. TVXQ’s press conference was behind because the local organizers were late to the scene, despite their claim of the flight’s late arrival. One would be amazed to see the boxes and boxes of merchandise embezzled by the Malaysian staff; when the items should have been given out to fans at the concert.
Furthermore, the issue of “rude bodyguards” was also present at the TVXQ events; but what’s funny is that they were locals who probably wanted to flaunt their clout than protecting the Dong Bang Boys.
But with that said, I will go back to the artist’s management company who probably knew everything that was going on and that things would very soon go south with the concert that night but the thought of making that extra cash was just too irresistable so they went ahead anyways until it was impossible to do so.
I will also say that it’s almost NEVER the artist’s fault; especially Korean artists since they are completely and thoroughly controlled by their management company. I feel so sorry for FT’s fans but I say “Stay Strong and Faithful!”
P/S: I am sorry for using the TVXQ concert as an example but I had the inside scoop through friends working with the local organizers.
there goes popseoul with their biased journalism ways….always one siding everything…i mean, come on, ITA FT ISLAND…what do you expect?is this really the first disappointing thing they’ve ever done?? lers use our brains here…
i mean “ITS
similar to what rain/bi did to his US fans.. do kpop artists really care about their international fans or are they pretending? i keep seeing this trend. and apparently this is the 2nd time FT Island cancelled a concert at the last minute.
popseoul, you should also do some posts on the postponement of the Peace Concert. Some fans are also pissed off since they’ve already booked vacation leaves, plane tickets and hotel reservations.
dbsk is also pissing off some fans (i think in china), they’ve apparently increased their ticket prices to accomodate some changes made to their stage. LOLZ.
YEAH!!! That’ll teach those fangirls to not have such horrible taste in music!!! XD
I know for sure the FT Island and their managers are to blame I know that stars respect their fans but I don’t think their bodyguards or the promoters know heads or tales of what they should be doing. They should think of contacting Super Junior and TVXQ’s malaysian connections to better plan
@ littlebigfeet,
LOLZ. maybe this is how KPOP artists want to conquer ASIA and the US… no, wait, didn’t they say they’re already GLOBAL stars?
I think it’s not the Band’s fault (well except them coming to the Signing session late). The manager and the promoters are just not ready.. what a waste!
are they running a business or scam?
once again fans shafted.
time to roll over
oh well, i’m sure it’s not ft islands fault to cancel the concert but their company, feel bad for the fans waiting to see them, i would be,
i feel bad for them
ft island fighting!
and for the organizer
thanks for ruining malaysia’s name
it is not bad that there’s not much concert here
except from china, hk bla bla
and now this
thanks!
well if i were a singer, i would want fans to buy real cds too, not bootlegs
My friends WERE DEVASTATED.
And she Saw the dude with the glasses on the Autograph sign event and the dude was bloody annoying and stuck up.
you feel bad for them??
little pre teens were acting like a buncho of divas!
and the 10 year old that plays the drums was not ‘happy’ with his drumset which is fukcing expensive and PRO series.
freaking INCUBUS DRUMMER PLAYED WITH THAT SAME SET!!!!
DUDE…. They aren’t even real musicians, fukc u FT Island for making my friends waste their money and lives in such a worthless band.
…
i heard that minhwan wanted to play a 30k drumset. -_- rumors though..i’ll stick to DBSK..haha..
at their age, they don’t have the stability to be so inconsiderate of the fans and, on top of that, with no explanation to cancelling the concert last minute. of course all that blame can’t be put upon the boys, but they need to be more carful of these things. the organizers also need to be more perfessional or they need to find another career. hopefully they didn’t loose completer trust of the fans in malaysia. good luck on bringing back your reputation in malaysia cause you’ll need it.
yup…i agree..such a group of UNMATURE ppl that trying to grow up…juz give them 2,3years before it comes to the end..HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA…
^^ I bet that Minhwan thing is just a rumor.
Do you REALLY believe that a 15 year old member of a group who doesn’t want to play on a bad drumset could influence WEEKS of planning and preperation? With all that money and time spent?
I highly doubt it.
That’s a rumor, but it’s a FACT that the fanmeet/concert locations were EXTREMELY shabby and unprepared, lacking air conditions. The “fan goodies” were crudely made, and most of the goodies weren’t even related to FTI!!
They’re all “BIG HEAD” !!!!!!!!
What a disappointment… I don’t like it when stars cancel concert without proper reasons and explanations. Their company should really do a better job ==;
Sign to get FTI BACK
http://www.petitiononline.com/g15o5566/petition.html
CI-Ent really did book sucky places though
For the fanmeet they booked a place across from a goat meat selling market
It was damn hot too, and they didn’t even have an AC
what’s up with that?
As for FT Island themselves
seems like they don’t seem to be having much luck to start with
and it’s really making me disappointed cause I actually like them
And thanks a lot for pointing out the drum thing about Minhwan, but even if he’s at a young age, I’m sure he realizes that he can’t be a spoiled brat
-_-
A lot of things about FT Island seems screwed now, like seriously
Cancellation after cancelation -_-
it was badddddd… they only allow to take only 1 autograph.. tat also most didnt get the autograph from who they wanted to.. bad management….. bad bad bad…. huhu….
:O omigosh thats horrible! i wouldve been so pissed off if i was there (even though im not a fan of theirs :P)
its not the boys fault…
most stars especially as early in their career as the ftbabies are don’t have any say… blame the managers and organisers
its just sad that they’re rep will be tarnished because of something that isn’t their fault
it doesn’t really matter if it’s their fault or not. it’s THEIR concert and fanmeet, so they’ll be the ones known for having a failed event.
unfair, but that’s life.
Even if it is the manager/staff/promoter/whatever, the band can STILL stand up for their reputation AND fans, and say “Hey, this isn’t fair, we’re going to play.” Even if it takes 2 hours to get ready because of disorganization, some fans would probably be willing to wait that long. Even thought it seems like they don’t, bands still have a say on how the show is run, in any country.
This is bad…. i hope they gonna reschedule the whole event again, for the sake of fans… though i can’t fly to the venue… how depressing ><
Peace Concert is postponed because Korean Air doesn’t want to pay extra 70 tickets to fly extra people. -soompi.com-
Shinhwa’s fee was only 50% paid when they went on stage in Singapore.
What the Korean media is reporting…
“It was shocking because the situation wasn’t fit for performing.”
At the unexpected cancellation of FT Island’s First Live in Malaysia, the fans there have broken into protest.
FT Island, who had left for Malaysia on 27 to stay until the 31st, was scheduled to perform live at the huge resort Sunway Lagoon Amphitheatre. However, the sponsoring agency CI Ent announced the cancellation of the concert and due to the lack of proper announcement, it led to protest by many fans who arrived at the amphitheatre.
According to Malaysia’s brother newspaper Korea Phrase, “CI Ent announced the cancellation of the concert at the fan meeting, the day prior. And on the concert day, they only hung the cancellation sign on the main entrance but did not take necessary actions for fans. Therefore, numerous fans who had arrived at the amphitheatre at 6pm did not return home right away but demanded to see the concert.”
In addition “among fans, there were those who had come via concert tour package from countries such as Singapore and Thailand.” When fan’s protest occured, CI Ent sent a spokesperson at 8:30 pm to announce to the fans that “the concert has been canceled due to urgent conflicts.” However, he refused to explain in details or mention anything about ticket refunds, compensation for fans and possibility of later concert date.
To this issue, FT Island’s party could not hide their disappointment.
F&C explained “The concert being canceled the day before does not make any sense. On the day of the concert, our staff visited the amphitheatre and was left speechless. They had nothing prepared to set up special stage effects, videos, instruments…etc. This was why we had pushed the rehearsal date to the day of the concert in first place.”
F&C also added “FT Island was waiting at the hotel for the rehearsal. However, our staff concluded that it was just impossible to perform. We had trusted CI-Ent based on our previous workings with them. This makes us feel so angry. Even though FT Island was guaranteed only 20~30%, we had planned to perform as long as things were ready.”
One Korean concert representative said “The main reason our artists’ concert get canceled is due to the lack of information that lead us to sign the deal with immature concert agency. Who will compensate for the fans who have traveled from other countries to see the artists? In the end, this brings shame upon the Korean wave and it is the artists themselves who suffer the most.”

This is RIDICULOUS! Is this how Korean entertainers plan to go global? What the heck? It is really interesting to see how or when Rain will be able to come back to the US?
One word of wisdom for the FT Island boys: FIND A BETTER MANAGEMENT COMPANY!
EVERYONE PLEASE READ THE ANNOUNCEMENT BY F&C MUSIC POSTED BY FIREEE!!!!
Many Many things are explained! Please listen to them instead of the rumors, or making assumptions!
ONE WORD; SIGN with reputable agency instead of those who can give you lots of money… ( ya.. who dun want money rite ) but then ALL will lead to this….
anway i think korean artist are more intereted in bigger market like USA, and Japan… others are just side dishes to them. so sad….
p/s ( not related ) some one went to a fan meet n there was this big so call star who the other day was bowing down to his own fan n japanese fan but when there was fan from other ASEAN countries, i heard that star was not too nice as the other day… TIRED.. i dun think so…. oh well.. they come and go…. good luck
I don’t believe what is written in the korean news.
Artists are spoiled and demanding, even if they didn’t like the stage and instruments they can’t say it wasnt fit for them(which is completely untrue because i have several friends with the company that provided the equipment for the performance)
These boys didn’t perform because the fog machines weren’t chevelle (LOL) and the inteligent lights were from some other brand, even if they were equal in terms of quality, and many more things, that honestly, you can fix with your production manager but the koreans working with them were fukcing stuck up and felt like their little F.T’s were freaking michael jackson. (and don’t reply to me saying bla bla bla they didnt gave what the boys asked, if you don’t know about production don’t reply to me please).
Those boys need to put their feet in the ground, this is plain dissapointing and honestly for such a group starting in a foreing country, they need to stuck up and perform for their fans… THATS why they are famous dude.
Please stay in Korea if you can’t handle International affairs… NOOBS!
But did the BAND THEMSELVES say that? Or was it their management who said that? There’s a big difference between if it was the management’s decision to call it off and if it was the band themselves who didn’t want to perform.
From what you said about the special f/x and everything, it sounds like that would be in the hands of the management and not the boys themselves. Why would the boys not want to perform just because of the special f/x???
Please don’t bring down FT’s reputation when it could be their management’s decision, which they have no say over.
GTFO.fANGIRLZZZZ
I know blajfsjd who workds sjfsjs sand no tehjfdhf
oh shut the hell up .
go cry to your momma about it.
what a disappointment…no matter who responsible for the damage……the damage did tarnish their image. poor fan feel so sorry for them……
not professional at all. and what the hell with the deal of being so demanding and stuck-up? they not even real band… INCUBUS did rock real fine and this little boys??
this sounds like a horrendous experience. And yes, it appears these international forays are a bit immature - it would be better to keep the fans waiting an extra 6 months to a yr, than this.
>_>
awww…poor those miserable fans
it’s not Ft island’s fault at all..so, they’re not to blame..we still love em despite what happens..FT ISLAND HWAITING!!!
Sigh….Luckily I did not purposely went down to KL to catch the concert…
Anyway, Don’t give up FT Island….Do it better next time…FT Island Fighting!!!
Awww, only the ones with the right import cds got auto’s? That’s kinda messed up. They should have signed as many as they could, seeing how all the fans came there for that very reason…
…somehow it’s funny that in general, when such things happen, fans put the blame on the manager/producer/organizer, but when the band did perform and manage to entertain, they never even mention about the manager/ producer/organizer, whose done massive efforts to expose those guys…
+_+ It wasn’t their fault; it was the ORGANISER, CI Entertainment’s.
AND, FOR YOUR INFORMATION,
YES. They ARE a REAL BAND and they play VERY WELL, thank you very much.
FTISLAND HWAITING! <3
* FTI showed their face for 15 minutes at the birthday party which was held before the autograph session (they actually told those at the party that FT weren’t going to come originally). FTI came at around 3 and the organisers at the signing session knew about it and knew they would be late but did not bother telling the fans there. They stayed at the signing session for around an hour.
oh..
it would suck alot
waiting a long time but they were onli there for 15 minutes
its not everyday idols u like go to your country..it must have disapointed them alot
if it happened to me..i would refuse to leave and throw a tantrum lol
dun blame the boys tho
hwaiting FTI!
I was very dissapointed about the things that is happen!I wait for 7 hours at cineleisure damansara but at the end i didnt get their autograph but i will always support ft island because i think that is not what they want to happen!
Uhh right, for the people upset about my comments….
I’m sorry, but F.T ISLAND is not just THEM, is their whole management.
If the managemnt screw things up, is the same as THEY SCREWING THINGS UP.
Sorry to burst your bubble but honestly, of course the boys themselves are to blame too, they are the FACE that is supposed to be shown.
Like someone said, is funny how fans always blame the management/organizers when things go wrong, but when they go right never give credit to the whole team behind those pretty faces.
Still, they are f.t Island. Their reputation. Their music. Their Concert.
If they can’t handle the heat that happens as an International artist, they better stick to Korea, which from what I heard, their screwing things up in there too lol.
I’m not hating on the kids (but i do know they were VERY demanding and stuck up not to mention annoying) but they are held responsible and sorry, but the heat will go to them, for unbiased people like some of us….
“If the managemnt screw things up, is the same as THEY SCREWING THINGS UP.”
It’s not… they’re under contract so they have to do what their management tells them to.
“I’m not hating on the kids (but i do know they were VERY demanding and stuck up not to mention annoying)”
How exactly do you know? You didn’t talk to them directly. Can you please give us some examples of what they said/did instead of just leaving statements like this?
I was there practicaly waiting more then 9 hours, and I’ve got nothing. I worked sooo HARD to earn enough money for the concert and this is what happen. I’m so disapointed, and I wonder will us fans get our refund?
@ FIREEE;
Exactly what I said?
If their management messes up, it will be F.T island itself messing up. They are under contract i never said they werent.
Like I said, F.T Island isn’t only those four boys, is the whole team behind them, but they are the ones to FACE the public. Still, they messed up, they are the ones to blame =/
And yes I do know, i heard and saw it =x; The only responsible and NICE guys from them all was the one with short hair. He actually tried to put some sense and spoke his mind about the whole matter (i can tell you he didnt care and he wanted to perform no matter what, unlike the other spoiled brats) but i don’t have anything to prof to anyone honestly i don’t care that much lol. Besides we don’t want to disapoint fans right? ;D
I’ll tell you guys what happened, man!
I went for both the fan signing event and the ‘concert’. I went to the fan signing venue at bloody 8.30a.m because C.I Entertainment(Malaysian Organiser) posted on their website that the fan meeting will be starting at 11a.m. Guess what? I went there and NOTHING was set up at all. All I saw was some freaking EMPTY STAGE. There were no barriers, no tables, no chairs, and the bloody backdrop for the stage wasn’t even set up. The organisers only turned up at around 10.00a.m and they didn’t even immediately start to work on the stage and etc……After delaying for a few minutes, they started to set up the barriers and other stuff. It was then only I found out that the fan meeting was supposed to start at 1pm! Okay, nevermind about that. They only started to arrange the chairs and put up the backdrop at 12.30p.m. Everthing was done at the VERY LAST MINUTE. Finally, at 1p.m when everybody thought that F.T island would be arriving, the M.C of the day then made the announcement that the F.T boys were still in the hotel. So, we waited and waited and waited till 3p.m when the M.C then announced again that the F.T boys were currently at some ‘Party House’ to celebrate their birthdays with some V.I.P fans(the fans who paid a lot more)……..the ‘Party House’ was located pretty far away from the fan signing venue so it was already about 4.pm when the boys finally arrived. The boys were 3 HOURS LATE! That’s not even the best part yet. During the autograph session, all the V.I.P fans were let to go get their autographs first…..THE V.I.P FANS WERE ALLOWED TO GET AUTOGRAPHS FROM ALL FIVE MEMBERS. and we, the normal fans were only allowed to get ONE AUTOGRAPH….and the worst part was we couldn’t even get to choose which member we wanted. You can imagine how devastated I was. I waited for 7+ hours and all I got was 1 AUTOGRAPH. But then again, there were LOTS AND LOTS of other fans who didn’t even manage to get a single autograph. Because of what? F.T Island only appeared for a maximum of 20mins. THEY CAME THREE HOURS LATE AND ONLY APPEARED FOR 20MINS MAX! All because C.I ENTERTAINMENT couldn’t organise anything well which made F.T Island late to practically almost every event that was held in Malaysia. Everything prepared by C.I was all so so so lousy……..let’s see —> venue for press conference sucked, venue for that birthday party thing also sucked, EVERYTHING SUCKED! So, it’s basically not even F.T Island’s fault.
GTFO.fANGIRLZZZZ - Do you mind me asking what position you work as to have heard them? I care, lol. Just please post what they said, damn it.
When & where did you hear them talking? And were they talking to the Malaysian management?
i feel soooo bad for those who waited for hours… 15 minutes??!! how many autographs can u sign in 15 mins???!!! Plus, last minute cancellations???
@rachel-y
if what you said were true… i totally sympathise with all the fans who waited… 3 hours late… how irresponsible of the entertainment agency
As quoted from Jiyool’s comments:
“Being a Malaysian, I have LONG FORESEEN disasters like this befalling international acts coming to our country and that unfortunately is the truth. When TVXQ was here, their press conference was hours late but at least they stayed a while. The concert (my first) was about 40-mins late and security was so unbelievably tight you would think they were the Presidents.

One would be amazed to see the boxes and boxes of merchandise embezzled by the Malaysian staff; when the items should have been given out to fans at the concert. ”
Jiyool probably hit the nail right on its head with his/her comments.
Seriously man, Malaysian organisers should IMPROVE their organisation/management of events/concerts etc. If the boys had come over to Singapore, I don’t think there would be that many glitches since our korean concerts have all performed so well here with no problems whatsoever.
Then again, if FT Island were true artists, no matter how poor the organisation’s management was, they would still want to go on with the show and not disappoint the fans.
But what the hell? We’re talking about FT Island here.
Are they even artists?
Hmmm
Sigh, it’s saddening how people are being so pathetic and impatient. I was there myself, and I was one of the representatives to enter the concert venue and discussed with the sponsors.
Please,
GTFO.fANGIRLZZZZ,
you need to improve your skills in suggesting uncontributive comments and your weak statements.
Till now, none of the management companies announced any concrete news or announcements. We shall just wait for them to announce the reasons behind the cancellation of the concert.
As you said, you do not care much bout this, therefore, it will be nice if you could just quiet down.
My dear friends,
FT Island was not demanding and the rumours bout their demanding behaviours are definitely implausible. The management company in Korea is said to cancel the concert and was unsatisfactory because of the way CI Entertainment, the management company in Malaysia managed the events. They were totally irresponsible, I know cause I was in every event and I was given the privilege with some other people to enter the stage and to talk to the sponsors and reporters.
And also, the rumours bout the reason behind the cancellation of concert because the stage was not completely prepared is false. Some of us went in and we saw what we saw, the stage and the venue were completely prepared; the stage, the instruments, the posters and everything. We even took pictures incase some hobby-less people try to create fake rumours.
I’m sorry but if to some people, the boys were demanding and annoying, then I’ll have to say you hobby-less people are much worse compared to them. Being so free creating rumours to confuse others.
Yes, rachel-y was right.
The events were very unorganized, from the day they came till the day they left. CI Entertainment should be blamed since the events are all handled and organized by them. It was a terrible debacle.
No, gobuki.
Popseoul has gotten her facts wrong for this time.
They stayed for 15 mins during the birthday package event, but for the autograph session, they stayed for around an hour.
leemdadam,
FT Island has no authority to speak or to make decisions. It is up to the both parties; the management companies in Korea and Malaysia, the organizers and the managers are the ones in authority to speak and to make decisions.
If the management company says no, FT Island couldn’t do anything. You people have to remember, FT Island is under a label. They have no rights to talk unless their manager and the management company says so.
Minzuki,
refunds will be given.
The procedures to collect the refund will be announced on CI Entertainment’s homepage by this thursday and the
refund for the purchased tickets will start on Sunday.
just to let u know, they were at the autograph session for about 1 hour. can u plz change ur 15 minutes to 1 hour. dont get the details mixed up, ok. and give the boys some credits, since its not entirely their fault.
jung, I’m an FTI fan and I’m just trying to gather all the information I can at the moment because there have been no concrete explanations yet. But as time goes on it will be easier to dispell the fake rumours. Sorry if it seems like I’m trying to bring FTI’s reputation down, I’m really not. I just want to gather information on why it was cancelled. Maybe it’s too naive of me to have a little trust in what some people say over the internet
At the moment, I believe F&C wouldn’t release a statement made out of complete bull, because then they could get sued by bringing down CI’s reputation and F&C’s reputation would be shattered because of this. I saw photos of the venue but people had said different things about it - yes, it was set up. But the set up was cheap and awful. It’s possible that it wasn’t up to F&C’s standards or there could’ve been equipment which was missing or not up to par.
It’s also possible that…
When F&C staff had visited, F&C reported that it hadn’t been set up. It is possible that they visited in the morning - or there could have been a mistake in the article and they could have visited the day before (as it states the concert was cancelled the day before)… and CI may have set it up too late for the band to have a rehearsal. Thus, the band could not perform.
But at the time of the concert, you guys would have already been able to see it.
And the boys being demanding, even though I hate thinking of it, could be true also. They still have a say on whether they want to perform or not. And no one said this could be the lone factor contributing to the concert cancellation.
I’m just trying think on an unbiased side here
Hey, guys. Can you please not go all judgemental for a sec?
REFUNDS are to be given, you DO know that, right?.. The fans aren’t the only ones who’re upset by this.
The F.T Island boys, are too. Everyone’s DEVASTATED about what had happened.
I agree with Jung. EVEN if FTI tried to protest against the decision, their management still has the final say on the issue. Resources tell that Hongki already knew the possibility of the cancellation, upon their arrival, thus looking moody during the activities. They even say that the band was scolded by their manager when he heard them singing.
If you guys are here to blame FTI for what had happened and to bash ‘em because of the rumors, that’s pretty sad.
Too bad, we don’t need you guys around.
FT Island, hwaiting!!!!
CI-ENTER IS SUCK!!!
awwww…
ft island hwaiting!!!!!
why cant i post my comments here?
kylie,watch it..
sigh, really disappointed.. its not fti’s fault at all.the wonderful management decided that. and the lovely organisers’ organising sucked soooo bad it made my organising skills look super good(which is a bad thing)
ci and f&c………please bring ft island back to malaysia
ok, nvm, ignore that.
come on la!!! wat some of you guys said are bull****, ok. about the minhwan n the drum matter, think bout it, would someone young like him do something like that. come on la, incubus/hoobastank [i heard it was hoobastank's]drumset? i bet he’ll be really happy to use a pro’s drumset. dont u think so? n to some people that said that their music is crappy n the fans hv no taste in music, let me ask me this, hv u tried listening to their song, huh?
Nahh, Fireee, you’re not wrong.
Unlike some people, you’re just trying to clarify some confusions and rumours. It’s okay to clarify questions.
Yeah, it might be true the set up of the concert was not up to the expectation of the management company in Korea. The stage was really small and we were wondering how hard it would be for the boys to perform. The goodie bags were really cheap and dissapointing and the seats were, oh well. We shall wait for the pictures to be posted up. I dare not say a thing bout it.
And the reason why hundreds of fans were left to wait outside the gate instead of waiting and sitting in the concert venue because, the sponsors were afraid the fans will stay up till late and wouldn’t go home.
haiz…as all say so…wat we wan is fti not money…
d stupid ci-enter…duno wat happen…do tis thing to d fans n fti…hate d company…

FT ISLAND FIGHTING!!!
THEY WERE THERE FOR 1 and 1/2 HOUR!!!!!! not 15 minutes la.

http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?g15o5566&1
go tis website to sign…for fti to cum bak…go guys n galz…
I was there at the fansigning and was one of the lucky ones to get one of the member signature. And let me tell you, more than half of the people who waited for hours didn’t manage to get their signatures. It was cut short and the fansigning event wasn’t even one hour!
There were lots of unhappy fans, more likely devastated by it. We were treated by the securities as if we were somekind of germs. Pulling our shirts, yelling at us and even pushed us! I feel that as a fan, it is not fair for us to be treated tht way. We have every rights to see them and get their autographs. We paid for the cd (whch ws not cheap!) But instead we were left with sour and bitter memories of it.
I was very furious myself as the fansigning event was late and not also that but i only managed to get one signature instead of five and i can’t even choose who i wanted! The securities had to picked whch f.t island members for us! I was so pissed by it! And a couple of my friends didn’t get a chance to greet them onstage let alone getting their signatures. They were all crying hysterically and so does the others who experienced it.
And don’t even let me get started on the concert day which is the next day of the fansigning event which never took place! The only thing puzzling me is who’s fault is it? Is it the management here in Malaysia/Korea? Or is it F.t Island’s fault? I will not be satisfied until i get a valid reason.
-.-” i didnt know the concert was cancelled~
maybe FT Island has a VERY good reason! I really love them and I don’t see any reason at all why they will do these things to the Malaysian Primadonnas… NO WAY! I think it’s the management’s fault.. not FT Island’s fault.. FT Island fighting!
What an odd name to call their fans! Wonder who are the actual primadonnas????? To some people, they can do no wrong… it’s always someone elses fault. Loyal or Blinkered???????
All I can say is that FT Island need to step out and express some empathy for your fans who waited hours for nothing. Oops..forgot they’re still babies… they need their nannies.
the should do a press conference..
saying sorry and stuff..
http://www.k-popped.com (Malaysian Hallyu news webbie) just posted a statement made by the FT boys. They flew back and had a press conference and a couple of fan meets, but that’s about it. Little mention on what lead to the concert’s cancellation.
Actually, there is! Click on the comments and scroll down a bit and you will see a translated piece of korean news regarding the matter posted by “Anonymous”.
Of course it’s not their fault. (I think so) Thanks God that I’m not their big fan. hahahaha!! But, my friend is such a big fan of them… She’s really crazy with them. huhuhu… Crazier than me. Iguess.
By the way, my friend showed me the p/book. The scenery is gorgeous. So beautiful. The sheep… hihih… cute. Yeah. One of the sheep looks alike hongki(joking). One of them page contains a picture of a shep. God, the sheep is so cute… But, thanks God that they didn’t put any names on that page coz if they do, it’ll makes the sheep one of the ft island member….(still joking).
Hmm… I guess, the only person that I can like in FT I is hongki. Their faces really looks bishy. But, the matured bishy. Better than the japanese bishy… To, girlish face with the immatured face. grr~~~
correction…
Too bishy face with the immatured face. grr~~
well i was at de fansigning event and im one of the unlucky ones that didnt get their signatures.i’ve waited for 4 hours in the crowd and didnt get anything at all and ft island was 3 hours late. the 1st group of fans got to have all of their signatures, the 2nd group only got 1 signature and they dont even get to choose from which of the members.i was very disappointed as i purposely bought the repackage album just to see them. some of the fans came from other states just to catch a glimpse of ft island were left devastated. then the next day was their concert.my sister was supposed to go for that but got de news that it was canceled. there were many fans from other countries like indonesia, taiwan, singapore etc were left stranded.until now there is no news about refunding of the tickets from the management. i think its the event management problem.
Though two of them are cute, these boys really have nothing going for them, in my opinion. Sorry to their fans, I don’t mean to be rude, I’m just saying I don’t think they really have any talent. And although Hongki has a nice voice his sh*tty personality cancels it out.
FT Island’s a pretty unprofessional group it seems, but the truth is we can’t really judge the boys about this just yet, for all we know it could’ve been their company being the d*cks, but unfortunately, in the end it’s those five who are going to get screwed over.
Should’ve just stayed in Korea, they aren’t even good enough to be performing out of the country just yet. What a f*ck up.
who cares what had happened to
FT Island and their fans.
why let their problems be YOUR problem.
aww D= i’m sure they had a lot of fans waiting for them too D= that suckss.
ooh, harsh :S
that’s sad that only certain people were allowed to get autographs. the whole ordeal sounds similar to rain’s with the US.
This is what should have happened. FTI should have sucked it up and just performed and be Professional about it. Yeah maybe things weren’t to their standards, but they could have swallowed their pride, and after the events, never deal with CI ever again. Life ain’t fair. Live and learn. Part of the entertainment business is dealing with stuff like this all the freakin time. The biggest loss in all of this fell on those poor fans.
NOOOOOOOOO! THAT SUCKS, I WONDER WHERE EVERYTHING WENT WRONG? KEEP ME POSTED POPSEOUL !D
FTISLAND STILL ROCKS!
OPPAS HWAITING!
i can understand them a bit…i mean most of them should be studying in school right now.
i just hope that they don’t become like rain (no offense, the guy is HOTT)and cancle their concerts only to disappoint their fans and ruin their reputation.
I wonder why the one who prepare the instruments was CI. Don’t the musicians usually have their own favorite piece? I know that many bands usually send loads of stuffs to the management in the foriengn countries before the concert for a week. Being the real band, like them and their fans always praise themselves and try to downgrade the others, the only thing they need is the good comfortable pieces of instruments. Bring it themselves then. If they rely on the other party for this critical issue, they need to perform without complaining. And please, how they could sign the contract without visiting the venue.
Ouch. The fans must have had quite a shock. I read that the planning on CI’s part was poorly done (younhap news or something). It can be F&C’s unwillingness to look bad, but it seems reasonable.
I find it strange that FTI would want to not perform when the companies wanted them to (or at least told them to do it anyway). Aren’t they still new (and young)? Even if they really are stuck up, I don’t think they’re all stupid enough to think their image won’t be damaged.
No, they’re not ready.
They’re not that famous but already dissapoint too many fans. Too much money is to the drain.
I hate it.
They better concentrate on Korea and Japan. Safer.
I really don’t care who’s wrong or right. I just want my money back!!! I had paid closed to RM1,000 for this concert and I want them back inclusive of the delivery charges!!!!
나라 망신시키는 빙~신들.
I don’t want my refund…. I want my Jong Hun and the other F.T boys ……..
…..you mean they were here in Malaysia ???….
and also… seriously… who in their right mind trusts Malaysian advertisers and organisers with free merchandise ??
nick, you are so right….please people read nick’s comment…..
and please people do pity fans like zizebrown … god i hope u got ur money back…..
CI Entertainment has already announced our money will be returned, refunds will be given. The refunding process will be posted up on their webpage on Friday.
True, Nick is somehow right. To think of it logically, how could they sign the contract without visiting the venue or confirming the details regarding the contract?
Sigh, if only they could announce the truth behind the cancellation of the concert. If so, we wouldn’t need to have so many rumours going around and things woudln’t be in such a confusing manner.
