FT Island’s trip to Malaysia was supposed to be an opportunity for the boys to meet their Malaysian fans and have a good time. Instead, it turned out to be a major disappointment, for the band and fans alike.
According to fans, their autograph session on March 29th was disorganized to say the least. The boys did not arrive on time, the bodyguards were rude and the organizers only allowed fans with the “right” import CD version to receive autographs. On top of being extremely late, FT Island boys showed their face for only 15 minutes, angering fans who waited for hours. How considerate.
Then, the next day the FT Island’s concert was canceled the last minute without any explanations. Nobody knows whether the promoter, the management company or both are at fault, but the damage was already done. FT Island’s reputation was tarnished and fans were disappointed.
Incidents like this makes me wonder if Hallyu stars are truly ready to branch out of the Seoul comfort zone. What do you think?

I was there at the fansigning and was one of the lucky ones to get one of the member signature. And let me tell you, more than half of the people who waited for hours didn’t manage to get their signatures. It was cut short and the fansigning event wasn’t even one hour!
There were lots of unhappy fans, more likely devastated by it. We were treated by the securities as if we were somekind of germs. Pulling our shirts, yelling at us and even pushed us! I feel that as a fan, it is not fair for us to be treated tht way. We have every rights to see them and get their autographs. We paid for the cd (whch ws not cheap!) But instead we were left with sour and bitter memories of it.
I was very furious myself as the fansigning event was late and not also that but i only managed to get one signature instead of five and i can’t even choose who i wanted! The securities had to picked whch f.t island members for us! I was so pissed by it! And a couple of my friends didn’t get a chance to greet them onstage let alone getting their signatures. They were all crying hysterically and so does the others who experienced it.
And don’t even let me get started on the concert day which is the next day of the fansigning event which never took place! The only thing puzzling me is who’s fault is it? Is it the management here in Malaysia/Korea? Or is it F.t Island’s fault? I will not be satisfied until i get a valid reason.

maybe FT Island has a VERY good reason! I really love them and I don’t see any reason at all why they will do these things to the Malaysian Primadonnas… NO WAY! I think it’s the management’s fault.. not FT Island’s fault.. FT Island fighting!

All I can say is that FT Island need to step out and express some empathy for your fans who waited hours for nothing. Oops..forgot they’re still babies… they need their nannies.

Of course it’s not their fault. (I think so) Thanks God that I’m not their big fan. hahahaha!! But, my friend is such a big fan of them… She’s really crazy with them. huhuhu… Crazier than me. Iguess.
By the way, my friend showed me the p/book. The scenery is gorgeous. So beautiful. The sheep… hihih… cute. Yeah. One of the sheep looks alike hongki(joking). One of them page contains a picture of a shep. God, the sheep is so cute… But, thanks God that they didn’t put any names on that page coz if they do, it’ll makes the sheep one of the ft island member….(still joking).

well i was at de fansigning event and im one of the unlucky ones that didnt get their signatures.i’ve waited for 4 hours in the crowd and didnt get anything at all and ft island was 3 hours late. the 1st group of fans got to have all of their signatures,the 2nd group only got 1 signature and they dont even get to choose from which of the members.i was very disappointed as i purposely bought the repackage album just to see them. some of the fans came from other states just to catch a glimpse of ft island were left devastated. then the next day was their concert.my sister was supposed to go for that but got de news that it was canceled. there were many fans from other countries like indonesia,taiwan,singapore etc were left stranded.until now there is no news about refunding of the tickets from the management. i think its the event management problem.
Though two of them are cute, these boys really have nothing going for them, in my opinion. Sorry to their fans, I don’t mean to be rude, I’m just saying I don’t think they really have any talent. And although Hongki has a nice voice his sh*tty personality cancels it out.
FT Island’s a pretty unprofessional group it seems, but the truth is we can’t really judge the boys about this just yet, for all we know it could’ve been their company being the d*cks, but unfortunately, in the end it’s those five who are going to get screwed over.
Should’ve just stayed in Korea, they aren’t even good enough to be performing out of the country just yet. What a f*ck up.

This is what should have happened. FTI should have sucked it up and just performed and be Professional about it. Yeah maybe things weren’t to their standards, but they could have swallowed their pride, and after the events, never deal with CI ever again. Life ain’t fair. Live and learn. Part of the entertainment business is dealing with stuff like this all the freakin time. The biggest loss in all of this fell on those poor fans.

i can understand them a bit…i mean most of them should be studying in school right now.
i just hope that they don’t become like rain (no offense, the guy is HOTT)and cancle their concerts only to disappoint their fans and ruin their reputation.
I wonder why the one who prepare the instruments was CI. Don’t the musicians usually have their own favorite piece? I know that many bands usually send loads of stuffs to the management in the foriengn countries before the concert for a week. Being the real band, like them and their fans always praise themselves and try to downgrade the others, the only thing they need is the good comfortable pieces of instruments. Bring it themselves then. If they rely on the other party for this critical issue, they need to perform without complaining. And please, how they could sign the contract without visiting the venue.
Ouch. The fans must have had quite a shock. I read that the planning on CI’s part was poorly done (younhap news or something). It can be F&C’s unwillingness to look bad, but it seems reasonable.
I find it strange that FTI would want to not perform when the companies wanted them to (or at least told them to do it anyway). Aren’t they still new (and young)? Even if they really are stuck up, I don’t think they’re all stupid enough to think their image won’t be damaged.

CI Entertainment has already announced our money will be returned, refunds will be given. The refunding process will be posted up on their webpage on Friday.
True, Nick is somehow right. To think of it logically, how could they sign the contract without visiting the venue or confirming the details regarding the contract?
Sigh, if only they could announce the truth behind the cancellation of the concert. If so, we wouldn’t need to have so many rumours going around and things woudln’t be in such a confusing manner.

well, for me..i don’t know how to react when i know it’s cancelled! kinda happy..because i was planning to go the concert but unable because my parents wouldn’t allowed me too plus, i need to get airplane tix to go the venue..
however it was really a dissapointment that FTI company are not organised.. it feels like Malaysian fans are not important to them..why would we want our moneys back?? we want the concert! according to K-popped blog, it’s schedulled on 5th april that they going to give back refunds.. WTH!

I WAS one of those poor, innocent fans… it was terrible! Imagine I waited for them for 6 hours for their autograph and 5 more hours for the concert (i regret going early to things like this now). All in all, I’m just disgusted at how the management company and the organiser ‘co-operated’ It was rude that no explanation was given for their tardiness…and the concert cancellation was done last minute…rudeness!
Hope the Korean singers’ companies plan and manage things well before deciding to venture out of KOrean soil.

The concert cancellation is not the boys fault, nor is their managers fault. You guys should know who is at fault RIGHT FROMT THE BEGINNING. Because everything has been screwed up once they reached the Airport, and it isn’t even their fault.
And about the RUMOUR, Minhwan wanted a 30K drumset, its fake. Don’t be so naive. Minhwan played on a drum with holes in it, sitting on a Plastic chair rather than the drum’s throne itself. Do you guys really think he’ll demand for a 30K drumset? -_-”
And the Korean side news is out. They wanted to perform, but the stage wasn’t set up, the special effects not even prepared when its like, 2 hours left to the concert. The boys obviously wanted to perform, those who know the story obviouslt can see that.
IMO, everything doesn’t lie with F&C, it lies with the Malaysian organizer. People who have worked with them will know the truth.

it was ci-ent who failed to manage everything properly,so you can blame the management of ft island or the boys.
altho i attended DBSK concert last yr which was also organised by ci-ent,and they did’nt left a bad impression to me.
but after reading this,im beginning to lose trust in ci-ent.

As you can see their recent tour in Japan, promoting their Japanese mini album, Prologue Of FTIsland.
I don’t know who was responsible for all the problems that time, but I know its not FT Island’s fault, and that they would’ve loved to spend more time with their fans and autographing CDs for them. I wasn’t in the same position as the fans but I know how they may have felt. If this were to happen to me (hoping not because I’d love to see them in concert), I’d be upset for awhile too. But I will continue to support them because I know its not their fault.
I remember Rain’s Toronto concert back in 2007. It was canceled less than a month away and I already purchased a ticket. Of course, I was upset but I still continue to support him. Currently waiting for his 5th album to release
Its not going to be with the help of JYPE anymore, but I know it’ll be great

I think you have a problem. Whats wrong with the name fanclub name “Primadonna”? Every group has a unique name for their fans. For example, DBSK’s fanclub is Cassiopeia and SNSD’s fanclub is Soshi? As well, there’s nothing wrong with the name “Five Treasure Island” because there are 5 members and they are all special in their own way, so all of them should be considered a treasure. Whats weird is the name “slineteuk”. What is that suppose to mean anyway?
Wat rachel-y said was true. I’m also 1 of da fans who was dissappointed on dat day…I arrived at the fansmeeting venue at bout 10 am.
I didnt come there with ft’s album, i thought i can buy it at there…but then the organisers says dat the album dat they brought is only for those who had order it on9.
I didnt know dat…but the organisers ask those who wanted the album, to write down their name at the waiting list to buy the album ,n my name was 1 of the earliest.
But then, when they called my name, i went to the organiser,
all of a sudden, i saw my name was cross out!!!
I told them dat, my name was cross out but i haven’t got my album!!! I was so pissed!!! Then i show them my IC(Identity Card).
So the organiser ask me to wait coz she/he knows dat girl who claim my name was hers!!!
At dat time, there’s only 1 album left on the table…
N next to me was another girl crying, asking the organiser to sell the album to her…
After a few minutes of waiting,the person who was searching for the girl came back, n without saying a word the just sell me the albums.
Not long after dat,few people came into the venue,carrying few boxes of Ft’s album…
But this time,they will ask the fans to show their IC or ID before buying the album….
Ft Island did came late n stay just few moment…
I didnt get any of the autograph on dat day…
But i know dat this incident is not their fault,
its the organisers dat should be blame!!!
However,i will always support Ft Island!!!
I now have their 2nd album already n I hope dat they will come to Malaysia again!!!
