More pictures from Lee Hyori’s new album, “It’s Hyorish” have been leaked just before the new album release on July 15th, 2008 at 3pm. Since there are about 50 U.S. retro-glam themed pictures of the pop princess, then a few more teasers won’t hurt your momma.

Her body looks top, blah blah blah. This album seems to be more about flaunting herself than actual music. I mean, we’ve seen a billion photos and have only heard a clip of one song (or maybe not even that) so far. This is an ALBUM, not a photobook.

the music is the main juice she’s trying to sell. not her pictures. so why would she release it before due date? if anything she’d keep it tight. and bam! shock us on release day.

The photos are definitely eye-catching and she looks fantastic…and PR is smart as heck to do this in order to increase sales.. They need those photos because the music isn’t very new or impressive. I heard the previews..maybe I was expecting too much and set my standards way too high. I guess the hype and media attention made me believe that the music would be good as well. But then again, I’m very picky when it comes to K-pop…it isn’t my most favorite genre of music. The music fits with the theme, but not great. I’ll stick with Uhm Jung Hwa’s fun futuristic disco sounds.

that’s actually a really nice picture of hyori with the “made in korea” sign. i like the sepia tone. it’s a nice change of pace from all her other promo pics. it’s just simple unlike the others.

whether you like her or her company’s strategy or not, it seems to work, since it got everyone talking. including everyone here. as the overused clip goes, good or bad publicity, it’s still publicity.
as for the blatant “sex sells” image she portrays, well, it is a sad fact that more artists are admired because of their booty and not for talent. it happens. and it sucks. but we shouldn’t be surprised that hyori is going in this direction since from the beginning of her solo career she’s already been building up to this image, and it’s not like she denies it. if anything, her mindset seems to be “if you have it, show it.”
but to a certain extent, imho, she’s overdoing it just a bit. let’s hope all those retro photos have something to do with her music, like if her songs have that “back to basics/ remake/ tribute to oldies” kind of feel.
