Has YG Entertainment given up on their pet protege Se7en? Earlier this year, Se7en threw three preview parties for his first American debut album in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco only to have it postponed “indefinitely” aka never.
To make matters worse, Se7en’s “supporters” ditched him. Rap partners Three 6 Mafia have left him in the dust as they experience popularity with their summer anthem “Lollipop”. Music producer Rodney “Dark Child” Jerkins has moved on with The Pussycat Dolls‘ “When I Grow Up”. And in lieu of managing Verizon Wireless salesclerks, YG has bigger fish to fry with top showdogs Big Bang.
When will Se7en snap back to reality and realize that he needs to rebuild his career in Korea? Hopefully soon, but perhaps never.

he shouldn’t be putting out the kind of tracks that we’ve heard on the internet, that’s for sure. they’re bland, boring–nothing stands out.
@ALL COMMENTERS!!!
before you know it, this ’se7en’ page would have over 300 comments.
stop arguing and making useless claims and judgments. let the ppls get by.
(including me too)
AMERICAN DREAM
My baby, Se7en! It’s gonna be alright. You will always be my Prince. It’s hard enough for Americans to break into the American market. It’s going to be double hard for you. I agree with what a person said earlier, it’s like starting a new school. It’s going to take some time. I don’t like that one of Se7en’s songs sounded just like Justin Timberlake’s My Love. Gotta be very careful about that or else people will call you a copy cat. I think Se7en is extremely talented on his own accord. I understand that you have to market and sell yourself, but it should always be about the “art” of it first. Don’t sing a song unless it’s from the heart. I know you are this kind of artist, Se7en. I also know it’s hard to some people to resist international fame and fortune. I don’t know. Perhaps you should ride the Hallyu wave for as long as the surf’s up, but how long will that be?
Se7en is one of my favorite singers. I wish him luck.
WOW PS!! You said, “…..top showdogs Big Bang.” I knew you liked them, you finally admit they’re the top!
Anywho, your posts are boring nowadays. Ran out of news? So you had to make up a pathetic one. In this post especially, you seem to follow up more on the American music industry. Funny, but please find some worthy stories.
Se7en, you should make yourself useful in Korea…i mean, it is extremely hard to find popularity in the US, sure the currency worth a million times more, but don’t forget where’re you from….this is just an advise, don’t mean to be harsh!!!also, you should take Rain as an example, he is korean and finding popularity in US and what did he get…sure he is a little famous, but can he top the chart???AND POPSEOUL, FOR A MILLION TIMES, PLEASE GIVE US THE OLD WIRTER BACK!!!IT”S GETTING BORING!!!
i mean, writer, not wirter!!!
Three 6 Mafia have left him in the dust as they experience popularity with their summer anthem “Lollipop”.
Lollipop? you must be thinking of Lil Wayne because last time I checked Three 6 Mafia’s song was called “Lolli Lolli”
I tired of all the K-Pop Singers that talk about dropping a CD in the STATES. TALK IS CHEAP. JUST DO IT!
Either BACK YOUR SH_T UP, or SHUT THE F_CK UP!
Wanna know what SE7EN’s been doing recently in the U.S.? He’s been at fashion shows in Hollywood!
Check this out : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVFINiAOz_A
Cool SE7EN jeans he’s wearing! I want a pair!
I think you’d find it more interesting than reading Popseoul’s article
If Seven is boycotting US on his cyworld page and in the US trying to break into our market, then he’s a huge hypocrite. Not surprising though, since Korea wants unlimited access to other’s marketplace, while restricting and taxing other’s to death for access to theirs.
Koreans need a better image in the US and the world. People who have contact with Koreans almost always come away with negative image of them. Cheap, rude, UBER-nationalistic, xenophobic, racist and major major hypocrites…way more so than other people.
They need to fix this. That and Koreans feel that if you’re not Korean, that you’re inferior to them, all the while keeping their inferiority complex. They’re also very standoffish. Koreans should try to be more open.
These are some of the reasons why Rain and Seven won’t stand a chance, because believe you me, if by chance he does make it here and it comes out that he has that crap on his page, it won’t be pretty and there will be no amount of talking his way out of it, either.
Oh and if Seven did the same music that he did in Korea, he’d be laughed out the studio. The cheesy bubblegum that’s so popular in Korea, went out of style by the late 80’s here and only then, teens listened to it. Now, only little kids and preteens listen to that syrup, not teens and grown folk. Even then, he wouldn’t begin to bust the Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers juggernaut.
It’s also interesting that one poster,SJCKorea, says that she doesn’t want Seven hanging with Blacks because it will embarrass her because he’ll somehow become ‘dirty’ looking. Nevermind the fact that Seven, as well as all of K-pop performs Black music. But then again, it is not interesting. It just follows their extremely hypocritical nature. If it bothers you that bad, please leave a message on his cyworld telling him to stop performing ‘black’ music and hanging around us and hook up with some ‘nice’ white folk, with ‘perfect non accented English’ (insert sarcasm here) whose skin you SO desire to have. (white is right, right? Right?) One less hypocrite cozying up to blacks and calling them nigga behind their backs and thinking they’re ‘dirty’ and ‘inferior’ would be SUPERB! THANKS, SJCKorea I’m sure you’ll get right on it! You will no longer be embarrassed by this negative association and feel dirty by those awful negroes! Seven will be saved! HALLELUJAH!
*and they wonder why Korea has such a hard time in US entertainment. Japan is a liberal country compared to Korea, whose would so tight that it’s arse whistle when it walks!*
whoops! that’s ‘whose wound so tight it’s arse whistle when it walks! LOL!
OMG, what’s going on SE7EN?… I thought it was really happening? The ‘pre-album release’ parties?… the club-even hopping… the “Like Them Girls” song playing?…
I thought it would be totally happening right now!!! I’m worried! I love SE7EN, I’d hate to see him fail like this!!! I miss you so much, Dong Wook!!!
Big Bang (his hoobaes) are gradually taking my heart away from him! OMG, I’m so loving Big Bang right now! They’re so WoW!!!
*I meant, ‘club-event hopping’
Good Luck, SE7EN!
I just hope you stay your sweet self, and not get tainted with the American attitudes.
@Lana
Wow. I’d like to know where you got your ‘facts’ from.
- What Se7en boycotted on his cyworld page wasn’t the US, NO it was the US beef. Google ‘US BEEF BOYCOTT’ and you will know that this has been a big issue in South Korea (and still is). ‘The case sparked the country’s largest anti-government protests in 20 years. ‘http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/US_beef_imports_in_South_Korea
- Lol you don’t sht about his music when you say he’s bubblegum pop. In fact Se7en and Rain are the only ones in Korea who do mainstream commercial R&B/Hip-Hop.
- ”Nevermind the fact that Seven, as well as all of K-pop performs Black music.” – First off, you’re contradicting youself (cheesy bubblegum pop =/= black music).
- So because you think Koreans are cheap, rude, UBER-nationalistic, xenophobic, racist (god are you racist) Se7en and others are having a hard time in the US?
For your information, he’s alot more open-minded than you think he is. Or how do you think could he improved his English drastically in such a short amount of time? Because he’s culturally open-minded.
Yes this Anti-US guy is spending his life in the US for more than an entire year already, waiting for his big splash, we should do too, instead of talking crap and posting useless articles when we really know sht about what is really happening right now.
why do you guys listen to Popseoul? Listen to se7en!
he has !already stated! that he knows that there is a less than 1% chance of him succeeding in the US….but that doesn’t mean that he should give up or stop trying!
when u say such things its basically saying to all the trainees that they should give up because there are already too many artists out there….if they took ur advice many of our biggest stars wouldn’t be here today
I wish the best for all the Asian celebs trying to make it in the US
he shouldn’t have made that decision debuting in the U.S. becuase he’s already very popular in Korea and other parts in Asia.. what does he want pa? i mean, yeah i miss him but he gets pathetic in my mind whenever i think of this reality.
Wow I cant believe this has happened to him. I was hoping so much for him to debut over here. Well all I can say now is get back in korea and rebuild then come to america.
69th comment! LMAO >
oops pressed wrong button >
omg pressed wrong button again omgsh sry D:
anyway i REALLY love his tattoo!!
big bang has a way bitter chance than he does. he should have stayed in korea, its hard for an asian to debut in america episaclly if there english isn tthat great
Lol who really gives a shit about Popseoul?
It sounds like the writer whining like a baby who’s got a sweet taken away.
He or she is pissed off probably because the interview was never granted for Popseoul or mistreated at the parties held by se7en’s entertainment group.
The articule is full of speculation, no proper source, stricly biased on personal opinion. You should stop writing seriously. You are a serious disgrace to all writers. At least give us one source where Darkchild has ditched se7en? Since when are multi platinum producers only allowed to work on one artist at the time you deep sXXt?
Oppa!
What the hell are those people doing?
Oppa… you should be careful..~
if this doesn’t work then come back….!
You’ve got many fans…– you don’t have to risk your whole career for beeing popular in the US.
Please be careful…
I wish you all the very best!!! <333
What the …..—HELL!??!
Why do they ditch him?
poor se7en.
u still have ur fans.
dont worry se7en.
se7en hwaiting.
Oh, this is hilarious. I’m a SE7EN fan, first off and I too have been wondering just where the hell he went. But these things take time and America still has deep-rooted racism. I’m not surprised that he’s delayed. I’m surprised he’s managed to get as far as throwing music performances in clubs with decent success. America isn’t shining gold and pretty roses. There’s racism. Hell, I get “Chink” remarks all the time.
So you can stop writing in such a disparaging tone about him. I would like to see you try to debut. Really, try to put more sources and intelligence in your tone when you write. It’s offensive when you don’t.
Don’t hate on Se7en. He has what it takes and he is gonna make it! I am so glad he didn’t release yet…because maybe there will be another album release party all over again!!!! YES!! I hope so. I will go to that one too! LOL I am telling you people…American girls are ready for some asian lovin. Asian boys stereotypes are starting to change and they are becomming associated with sensuality and being able to express emotion…not to mention they just look damn sexy. I think teenage american girls will go crazy for se7en just like me and my sister did. Some of my friends bought his korean album and don’t even speak korean because they got hooked on him at the album release party…and perhaps the constant playing of his CD’s as we drove from San Diego to LA/ LOL
