Nam Gyu-ri likes meat

Seeya’s Nam Gyu-ri confessed her love for meat - specifically “sam-gyup-sal” (literal translation is “3-layer meat” but it’s the same cut as bacon). The cute singer turned actress proclaimed that “sam-gyup-sal” is her source of strength.  The fatty meat is grilled at home for breakfast on a regular basis. For those who live in the west, having bacon in the mornings is no big deal. But in Korea, meat is usually reserved for evening meals.

The episode with Nam Gyu-ri and her love for pork will air on MBC’s “Happy Corporation“  on July 31st, 2008.

Nam Gyu-ri will also be starring in a new horror flick, “Death Bell” (고사), which opens nationwide in Korea on August 7th, 2008. Check out the movie site here (in Korean)

Han Yeh-seul, Jang Hyuk and Kim Min Joon in new drama

Get ready for a new SBS drama starring Jang Hyuk, Han Yeh-seul, and Kim Min-joon.

The trio take the lead in the highly anticipated television production of “Tazza,” based on the 2006 film of the same name (starring Kim Hye-soo). Tazza” will takeover food drama “Gourmet” in the Mon-Tue evening slot.  Filming for the drama will begin at the end of July 2008. And no date has been confirmed for when the drama will air.  The drama is expected to debut in the fall.

The Korean term “Tazza”, pronounced “ta-jja” refers to someone who is a good gambler.

Jang Geun-suk is a baby daddy

Jang Geun-suk has a legitimate excuse to stare at women’s chests in the upcoming movie, “Baby and I” ( 아기와 나). The 21 year old actor plays a tough n’ cool highschool kid named Joon-soo who suddenly finds himself as a surrogate father to an abandoned baby boy.

For the role, the young star research child-rearing techniques including how to mix formula and change diapers. Hopefully this training will help the actor when he becomes a real baby daddy.

Baby and I, based on the Japanese comic book and 2006 movie of the same name, will open in Korea nationwide on August 14th 2008.
