We’ve seen Hollywood stars use breast tape, but feet tape?

Seeya’s Nam Gyu-ri tapes her feet into her shoes for safety. A spokesperson from her management company confirmed that tape was used to prevent accidents from happening. You know, the kind of accident when a shoe comes flying off and hitting someone on the head!
Nam Gyu-ri’s shoe tape was spotted at her performance for the Mnet M-countdown on July 24th 2008 and the next night at the press conference for her new horror flick, “Death Bell” (고사).
Death Bell opens nationwide in Korea on August 7th 2008.

I think it’s a good idea. With shoes as high as those, you don’t want to slip on stage and have your ankle bend sideways. ouch.
I’m all for safety, but it looks rather funny with tape wrapped around the high-heeled shoes in that manner. lol!

Does she have an extreme ankle tan or is that the tape too? And omg, you can see up her dress. Would it kill them to make it a little longer?
Pretty nice idea though – those heels can poke someone’s eye out if it falls off her feet.
This is definitely new. I thought in order for accidents not to occur someone has to wear shoes that fit them not shoes two sizes bigger. :/ maybe am wrong cuz I do notice a lot of stars wearing shoes that seem just too big for their tiny feet.
LOL! It makes the shoes look so cheap. She’s a celebrity (in Korea) and she can’t afford the real thing? (Yes they make ‘feet tape,’ where you can just slip it on.)

Ok. . .I agree with Jane, who suggested wearing Mary Janes instead. If not, use less-shiny tape, because the tape she used was so conspicuous. . .it looked tacky.

and since the shoes they wear are sponsored, they can tend to be a bit big for the person. but wearing the tape is better than not wearing it, spraining your ankle and suffering with it.

Smart idea, but it looks kinda tacky to me.
Couldn’t they just put double-sided tape on the inside of the shoes? And besides, I think the biggest safety hazard is breaking her ankles from dancing in such high heels.
i think its super kool of her part to be safe while performing besides its not like she’s using some gray duck tape AT LEAST SHE MADE IT CLEAR.

Like some have previously stated, good idea but bad execution. It looks rather tacky with clear tape, it’s still visible. The key with using tape is to keep it hidden. Maybe she should tie a cute ribbon to cover it up or just wear high heals with ankle straps. I mean tape is fine if you were being resourceful and had nothing else and was in a rush but don’t wear it with a cute dress to your own event. It ruins the whole look and makes everything else look cheap. She’s lucky she’s cute.
