Korea’s “marine boy,” Park Tae-hwan, wins a shining silver medal for the Men’s 200m freestyle on August 12th, 2008 at 11:20am (Korea time). Already, all the female celebrities, including Lee Hyori, Sun-ye, Nam Kyu-ri and skater Kim Yuna have sent their love and congratulations to the Olympic champion.

This is Park Tae-hwan’s 2nd medal after his gold medal finish on Sunday for the Men’s 400m freestyle. Next up, marine boy will compete in the 1500m

Also, Korea’s Jin Jong-oh took home the gold for the Men’s air pistol today.

Phelps is just too good ^_^ He’s the stuff legends are made of. And he’s good at every stroke too. But a silver is nothing to turn a nose up at, especially when it’s not Park’s best event

Park needs to work on his start. He’s the first one to pop up his head, while Phelps goes underwater for another 5 meters…
^^ i agree with hay hay. park needs to work on his starts AND his turns if he wants to seriously be able to challenge Phelps, he said so himself. Anyway he still did great and made us Koreans proud! The race was exciting to watch, but Phelps had a huge lead coming in the final stretch so it was more exciting to see who would get silver. GO PTH!

Park cant beat phelps..just think 4 years ago at age 18-19 phelps had 6 gold medals and broke tons of records he only lost once…park only has one gold and hes ALREADY 18 not the other way around phelps started at 14 in the olympics…he wont be able to catch up with phelps because you GROW as a swimmer not slow down..look at what perisol did…you guys have alot to learn about swimming
