Talks of Jang Dong-gun starring in the film, “Jin-shi-hwang Project” are in discussion. Jang has yet to accept the role, but we have no idea why.
The director attached to the project is none other than Luc Besson, of “Fifth Element” and “La Femme Nikita”. If Jang Dong-gun wants to increase his chances of making it in Hollywood, he needs to have more than one movie under his belt. Because you know, we can rely on Rain conquering Hollywood.
So Jang Dong-gun should just take the project. Call up Luc Besson and tell him you want to be in the movie.
“Jin-shi-hwang Project” is a USD 30 million production that will be filmed in New York, Paris, China and Japan. The film is expected to be released in the later part of 2009.
Jang will also be starring in another soon to be released Hollywood film, “Laundry Warrior”.

I like Jang Dong-gun in one of his earlier dramas…I can’t recall the name. He used to look “natural” and real.

His management has already denied he’s part of this project. Try to stay updated, Pop Seoul. You are in Korea after all.
And another thing. No one said JDG wanted to “make it in Hollywood”. JDG himself has never said that. He has only said he’s interested in making all kinds of projects and does not want to limit himself. He never said he wants to go Hollywood all the way.

So buying a house out in California doesn’t mean anything and one is kidding themselves if they think JDG is not in it for the money and fame. Hell almost all celebs are into that.
Buying a vacation home in a foreign country is what rich people do. American celebs have houses all over the world and they rarely even go there. Probably they can either rent it or let their friends and family use it. Maybe he bought the house for property value. I have no idea. But there has been no indication from JDG that he wants a full-time career in H’Wood or that he wants to live in LA. He spent a number of months in LA doing Laundry Warrior work (and recently returned from there again after doing some more post-production work). Maybe he doesn’t like living in hotels. Maybe he prefers his own place. He also rented a house in New Zealand while there filming LW. Who knows. All I’m saying is stop assuming every Asian celebrity is lusting for H’Wood glory.
Jdg has some relatives in LA whom he regularly visits once or twice a year. Maybe that’s the reason why he decided to just buy a house in LA.
According to JDG’s management agency, JDG will decide if he would participate in the said movie at the end of August.
