In an interview by Korean newspaper, “Hankook Ilbo,” the 2008 Miss Korea, Nari, had to redeem herself. Miss Korea admitted that the photos of her taken at the pageant were unflattering. That’s an understatement!
The 23 year old Yonsei student added that she can’t walk on the streets without being conscious of what she looks like (i.e. full makeup and dress). However, she will continue to go to the public bath since her momma enjoys going. So does this mean that we can check her out naked?
The new Miss Korea actually has some nice natural features – a small, delicate mouth with cupid’s bow lips and a balanced oval face shape. If she’s had bone-shaving and a chin implant, it’s not obvious like so many other Korean entertainers. The problem is that distractingly large rod in her nose, which probably looked just fine pre-surgery.

Ehhh a lot of Koreans have short legs…check out the entry on photoshopping long limbs :p I think she’s pretty…it’s just that so many other celebrities get so much surgery they saw down their faces to achieve a v-line, some even get leg-lengthening surgery…so I mean…that’s what a natural Korean woman looks like…big face and all.

i feel kind of sorry for her. while she is not as pretty as most Miss Koreas…at least she doesn’t look like a plastic clone…

One thing for sure, she is not plastic looking..but I am quite sure she had her eyes and nose done.
Overall, she really donot have the beauty queen look, but a plain jane next door.
She is not all too unfortunate looking, but she is nowhere near as stunning as past winners. To me, Lee Ha-Nui, by far, is the most beautiful Miss Korea in recent years. I guess I’m used to seeing gorgeous celebrities, and Nari pales in comparison. She doesn’t look too bad here, but for some reason, she looks much older than 23.

She’s gonna compete in Miss Universe next year, and the MAIN thing that matters is that the contestants be GORGEOUS.
Sure they should have ‘intelligence’, but could you really judge their brains in a day? = so it doesn’t matter! These girls just need to know how to ‘act smart’ with a list of some credibilities (like going to college, hugging trees, saving a whale, etc etc >_<).
But my point is, for pageants like these, LOOKS TOTALLY MATTER!

Korea has no chance at Miss Universe next year. It’s a sad truth. She looks like she’ll be about half the other contestants’ height. Her neck almost look nonexistent.

i think she’s pretty and she’s got brains! isnt she in a top university studying something that requires brain power instead of studying art or music? not to put down those subjects but i think those dont require u to be smart but just super talented
yes yes, much better. Why didn’t she go this route the first time around. Her hair and makeup at the pageant was hideous! She much cuter now, but…not so much a beauty queen. When you think beauty queen you think beautiful, not cute.
as always, i think koreans have never been satisfied with the predecessors of honey lee… (i think even with her successors–but because honey lee made it to top5 of ms. universe…)

She’s tall (Around 5′ 7″, or 170 cm) with ultra-short legs, and a torso that can wrap around the diameter of the Earth!
Okay, so her torso is not THAT long, but her body looks egregiously disproportionate.
She (her family) is rumored to have VERY deep pockets.

im glad she won..
alot of people only seem to want the perfect body, perfect face, perfect hair, perfect everything!! and everyone seems to compare..and will compare other miss koreas to honey lee. she was a once in a lifetime kind of winner but do you see girls like her in korea? do people like her walk down the streets all the time? do your friends look like her? this years miss korea seems to be humble. through all the criticism and crap that shes getting..shes still fighting. she is what korea is. she doesnt represent the fake superficial kind of girls.
many..MANY people in korea can relate to her. not everyones perfect..Nari can give hope and perhaps happiness to those girls who always turn themselves down and believe that they have to change and alter themselves to what society wants them to look like. you cant change the korean look.korea needs a different perspective on what a REAL person can look like. maybe the judges got a reality check and chose someone real.
