Taking a page from Namie Amuro with the long copper hair, Boa is back in the motherland for the SMTOWN LIVE 08 concert on a rainy Saturday, August 15th 2008. Dare I say the popstar looks more “mature” in the picture above now that she’s 21. Maybe the rumored hormone injections have been paying off.
Boa performed hits, “Moto,” “My name,” “Girls on top” and “Rock with you” The 21 year old singer was joined by other SM acts- Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK), Super Junior, SHINee, Girls Generation (SNSD), The Grace.
when BoA was compared to the Beatles, I seriously believe that was a lapse of judgement. BoA may be a famous and verrryy popular artist, but she can’t compare to the Beatles in musical quality and substance. It is a timeless musical group that has fans from every generation since it came about. BoA may have much more skills than the average modern k-popper, but I believe that 20 years from now, people throughout the world will still remember and respect the Beatles more strongly than they will BoA. …and why are ppl picking on her for being short? she looks fine..

BoA is a amazing singer, and shes pretty… definately above average and at least she got talents. Hyori is hot but not the hottest.. and she got no talents and have to use her body to make money

Yah I went a little overboard with that Beatles thing, but its hard to find a suitable comparison when during that time European (mostly British) and American music basically ruled international airwaves. Korea and Asia as a whole has never had that type of power internationally ever. But if you look at Korean music in its entirety as well as Japanese music, there is no POP star that has dominated on such a scale that Boa has. So maybe a healthier comparison might be the Madonna of Asia? At least is only one women this time.
i remember my first time watching BoA perform live and she is AWESOME! She really knows how to work the stage. My favorite performance of hers would have to be the MKMF 2005 music awards. The energy is just exploding.
The image I like best on her is probably a slightly boyish yet sporty and a little sexy! only a little! She looks great regardless.
It’s been 3 years since she’s released a Korean album. I think her contract ended on her 5th album. She definitely renewed but what happened to the albums!?!? Still waiting!!

Actually, Faye Wong was immensely popular in Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Taiwan and even to the west as well. Sure, her popularity is not as crazy as people are about Korean boybands nowadays (although Faye Wong has a wider fanbase), but for the standard back then, everyone loved her and her critics were far in between. I don’t think BoA has that sort of iconic image, yet.
Oh, and I don’t get why people are criticizing BoA’s butt in the photo. Do you guys like flat deflated butts like Hyori’s? Ha. BoA has curves, she’s suppose to since she’s a WOMAN. Talk about having a REAL S-line.

Man, there can be only one BoA, and boy am I glad she’s back. She need a real good comeback, and I believe she’ll have on helluva good one. People must not forget BoA, cos she’s just done so much for the Kpop industry
BOA does look ‘old’. She does not look like she’s in her early twenties. It could also be that she surrounds herself with an older crowd, regardless she is an entertainer unlike Hyori. I would have to agree with the comment above, who likes a flat butt. BOA but does not look BIG.
I totally agreed with Mojo about Hyolee dancing skills. Yeah i know she is hot as usual but i dont reckon her style at all..its just not my type.
If i would to choose between BoA and Hyolee, my vote goes to BoA definately, even though im not BoA fan…
