I am having a hard time keeping track of all the new idol groups coming out of the woodwork. I was just getting used to the pastel bowl cut boys of SHINee and 7-year trained 2AM, but now there is…. SMASH.
The 6 boy group is nothing to get excited about.
SMASH is latest carbon copy but unoriginal boy group swimming in a red ocean filled with look-a-like competitors. How do they expect to survive? They won’t. If their first lackluster single, “Emergency” (from the mini album “Open Fire”) is any indication, they will disappear as quickly as they appeared.
So it’s better not even to bother naming all of them or even making a new category.

I heard the one all the way in the left, named ‘World’, is 27-29 years old.
What a bad time to debut..Big Bang and DBSK are making their comebacks. They aren’t getting anywhere this year.
wow can they be ANY more unoriginal? at least shinee and 2am had some “umph” to them that made them kinda stand out. but this new group….is like you ate all the boybands in korea and barfed it out.
I don’t like all the idol groups but I LOVE these guys!
I prefer the other new boyband DNT but I’m willing to give this SMASH a chance.
Let’s see if they can keep up to the music scene and who knows what will happen.

Smash? I thought they said they had talent? Ha, please. What has K-pop become now? All these bands are a joke, humiliating K-pop. I don’t care for new bands but please make sure they’re at least up to par with existing bands/groups, if not, goodbye.

2AM is ballad group,2PM is dance group
2PM will mainly do hip hop/r&b music,just like Big Bang
they are rumored to be debuting on 4th September

I think SHINee’s an adorable group, I really liked their debut song. BUT they’re like puppies compared to Big Bang. I just want to pinch their cheeks for their cuteness. XD
I agree, they shouldn’t even be compared to each other.
2PM have sounds more similar to BB. I can’t wait for some fierce (but friendly) competition between 2PM and Big Bang—and more importantly, some awesome music!!

yeah,friendly competition will make the kpop market even more competitive,we need some good music
but what happened to Big Bang’s old hip hop music,i miss their old days
since i love urban music,the only kpop boy groups i like are big bang and one day(2PM) only
agreed. the first time there was news about them debuting, i was like, “eh, another one ? let’s see.” but after watching their debut video and song, i have no respect for them whatsoever. just another plain boyband. i bet they will not survive in the k-pop music scene.
personally, i really liked SHINee’s debut song.

lol well i don’t really like their music very much. But hey, these boys are soooo pretty. xD I guess they can probably get as far as pretty faces can get them.
What’s so original about DBSK and all those other boy bands. They suck as much as popseoul does. And I must say the day you fall from grace, it won’t be pretty or merciful either.

I like to check out new groups, so I watched their MV.
