Comedian Noh Hong-chul is too close for comfort

Nohhongchul_080827_1

Recently, comedian Noh Hong-chul was the target of angry netizens after nuzzling up to former S.E.S. member Eugene on the MBC variety show, “Come to Play, Return of the Kings” special on August 25th 2008. On discussion boards across the internet, netizens deemed his behavior as sexual harassment.

What happened was that Noh Hong Chul came behind Eugene suddenly, hugging and nuzzling up against her face while she was dancing to their popular hit “I’m Your Girl.”

A spokesperson for Eugene states that no harm was done and that Eugene took it all in stride.

Hmm. If this was Daniel Henney or Song Seung-heon that suddenly came up and nuzzled her, would netizens think of this as sexual harassment?

Food for thought.

  10. 10 yo August 28, 2008 at 2:09 am

  13. 14 Seri August 28, 2008 at 2:50 am

If it was Daniel Henney people would probably target Eugene cause they’re jealous!

  14. 15 kitanablade3 August 28, 2008 at 3:00 am

Looked okay to me, I’ve seen worse on game shows. Plus they’re probably friends, so I don’t think any harm was done.

  15. 16 YOYOYO August 28, 2008 at 3:44 am

well though i agree with popseoul…i still think what the guy did was too much….i mean he look perverted as hell…and i dont think daniel henney or dennis oh or any hot artists would do that kind of things…i mean they are friends or not but you shouldnt do this kind of thing on tv especially when you know you what kind of place you live in….with netizen and stuff…. WHAT A EFFIN DUMBASS

  16. 17 yuna kim August 28, 2008 at 3:49 am

first of all daniel henney the other guy wouldnt do something like that in first place. second of all.. isn’t noh the type of person who does that kind of stuff anyway?

Agreed with popseoul regarding the daniel hennery issue.
but anyways,i would’nt want it if some guy comes up hugging me like that too.
altho it is for entertainment and meant no harm, but gotta watch your actions sometimes.

“Hmm. If this was Daniel Henney or Song Seung-heon that suddenly came up and nuzzled her, would netizens think of this as sexual harassment?”

hell, no. they would think that it was ‘cute’

“Like ommmyyygaaawd!! they should like, GO OUT!! insert: ‘giggle giggle *screech* giggle.’

  21. 22 evvy August 28, 2008 at 7:03 am

I’m telling you, Korean netizens need a slap in the face.

  22. 23 The Machine August 28, 2008 at 7:37 am

    HAHAHAHAHAH SEXUAL HARASSMENT!?

Netziens need to stop being such whiny little prudes or jealous losers who couldn’t get any in this or the next lifetime.

No Hongchul didn’t do anything that he hasn’t done before, and it was just for laughs, he wasn’t like grinding against her or putting his hands in innapropriate places.

And yeah, who the hell cares what someone says online. Korea is full of internet warriors anyways.

  23. 24 anarielle August 28, 2008 at 8:55 am

Whatever. It’s not like he’s doing something that was not envisaged in advance (maybe I’m wrong but that show is scenarized, isn’t it ?)
And like someone said if was a hot guy, netizens would probably target Eugene…

  24. 25 Sandyy August 28, 2008 at 9:09 am

  25. 26 Laura August 28, 2008 at 9:21 am

one question, where is Eun JiWon from, which group?

  26. 27 anna August 28, 2008 at 10:31 am

    It’s a freakin’ hug!
But yeah, I also wonder if it’s Daniel or some other hot stars, would that make a difference? I mean maybe NHC gives off that “creepy” vibe or something ..but if it’s someone hotter, it would be like “oMgz~~ so cute!~

  27. 28 htt August 28, 2008 at 10:58 am

NHC is just the most hilarious guy ever. I love him. Netizens need to get over. Did it entertain us? Yes. Isn’t that the point? They seem to be having fun anyway.

  28. 29 Tiffany August 28, 2008 at 11:06 am

I can understand why some people find this dude scary, but his weirdness is what makes him hilarious and fun to watch. It is just part of his character on television to do crazy stuff like this as he rebels against everyone else. Netizens seriously need a life. All they do is try to stir up nonsense when the celebrities they care for disapproves of their actions. Sheesh, Noh Hong-Chul was just being funny by “annoying” his friend and it is not like Eugene was upset about it afterward.

  29. 30 jenfraud August 28, 2008 at 12:25 pm

haha noh hong chul is so funny…sexual harassment wtf?!they’re just having fun

  30. 31 Eugene August 29, 2008 at 4:50 am

and about the issue..tsk3x..dat is sad man..he isnt even doing something so out of his character..i agree with some cooment about it being inappropiate in korea..but CHILL~! ur food thought ia really funny!agree 100%!! u know, when the drama full house was popular, there’s a scene where they’re fighting for a bed..rain nearly put his arm on SHG’s chest! why the hell i didnt any “PERVERT” @ “UNACCEPTABLE” from netizens! that is soo freaking DOUBLE STANDARD!

  33. 34 OMG! August 30, 2008 at 11:56 am
