Well, if you have been keeping up with the money machine’s news in the past few weeks, you will know that he is opening up another restaurant in Japan, selling 100% Korean chongguk kimchi in Japan, lending his voice to the animated series for Winter Sonata and now hoping that gracing his presence will bring in more people to see fellow BOF family member, So Ji-sub’s new movie, “Movie is a movie.”
Will it work? Knowing that the ajummas around the world would do anything for him… who knows.
Bae Yong-joon recently had surgery on his shoulder but his arm is in a cast? Not sure how you can have a cast on your arm if the shoulder was injured. Can someone explain this?
I have had some time to reflect and in my calm state I am typing this post.
I do empathize with some fans that try to defend their favorites.
One celebrity that I absolutely adore is an Indian actor called Shahrukh Khan.
You can say Shahrukh Khan is to South Asia what Mr. Bae is to Japan…only Mr. Khan is older and bigger.
In fact, it has been said that 2.7 Billion people know Tom Cruise but 3.2 Billion people know Shahrukh Khan.
It is very simple, the more popular a person is the more fans and antis that person is bound to have.
And I know a majority of people that can be considered his antis, they continuously call him names, especially GAY. Heck, even my best friend continuously calls him gay every chance she gets. But I have never stooped down to calling anyone names or talk about their kid siblings just because they don’t show the same level of adoration that I show to my favorite celebrity.
All I want to say is this, look I don’t care where we all fall on the Bae Yong Joon spectrum, which ranges from Die Hard fans on one side to Die Hard antis on the other side, and with all neutrals and non-admires falling in the middle.
I just don’t want to see pop seoul’s blog turning into a hostile environment with all this bickering. It just causes headaches and pain (especially to religious people like me). Buddha has said, Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.
So comment all you want and if someone still feels upset/anger over someone’s comment, then please refrain yourselves and just tell yourself to leave the consequences of this person’s actions up to karma.

I am a fan of BYJ and had watched so many korean telenovelas. Eveybody is entitled to her opinion. Any criticism whether good or bad is still publicity, You won”t talk about a person if he is not popular. I just disagree with some of your comments. Pls. remember that BYJ and Phillip Lee are catholics and I believe that they have different moral values than others. Both of them knows that if they have that kind of relationship they know that it is a sin. BYJ is being guided by her mother who abhors immoral things. While conversing with POP THIS! I got pulled into a war that I didn’t even declare. However, once I became an innocent bystander victim in this mess, my love for psychology has led me to observe something interesting.
The root of all feuds has to be something, spontaneously nothing starts.
Thus I questioned why are there people that despise Mr. Bae to the point of down right hating his guts. I’m not a fan but I’m not a hater as well, I don’t hate his guts but I also don’t admire him the way fans and fanatics can. Though there are people out there that mock him and ridicule him, and it is true that some are just jealous and haters but after watching POP THIS! and MORE bicker, I have realized that probably Mr. Bae doesn’t really have antis. In fact, all those people that seem to hate Mr. Bae are really just antis of Mr. Bae’s fanatics.
That’s right, they could be just antis of Mr. Bae’s fanatics.
Why else would a man that lives his life like a hermit and rarely interacts with others have so many people hate him? I mean what has he done to deserve such hatred? Nothing I tell you, absolutely nothing.
From what I have read in POP THIS!’s comments, I can tell that she admired Mr. Bae, she even considered him to be beautiful. Not only her but there others who say the same thing, that Mr. Bae has changed.
Anyway, back to how I have formed this opinion of Mr. Bae’s fanatics being the ones that cause antis instead of Mr. Bae himself.
It all gets started with one individual pointing out a flaw that they feel exists in Mr. Bae; or by challenging something by raising a question. Upon seeing the comment made by this individual, Mr. Bae’s fanatics (I’m saying fanatic instead of fan because fans don’t harass and/or threaten others, SO FANS OF MR. BAE YOU CAN DISCARD THIS POST) gang up on the individual for having a different perspective. Now, it might be true that the individual could have written something that was totally uncalled for, but instead of rationally asking that individual to defend their comment with solid proof, the fanatics slash out at the individual.
The individual does what most human beings do, they slash back at the fanatics (for the record, I never slashed out at anyone despite getting verbally abused at) and thus begins a war.
The same individual who probably never hated Mr. Bae and was just trying to share a different point of view probably now is so fed up with the fanatics, that this frustration manifests itself into hatred and gets displaced on poor Mr. Bae.
Thus the individual probably goes from being a non-admirer of Mr. Bae to becoming an anti without even noticing it.

They probably are just friends. But you can’t blame people for being curious about BYJ’s very public friendship with Lee Philip when BYJ hasn’t been photographed openly in public with anyone except his manager and his english tutor for over a decade. So it’s a little unusual, this level of openness from BYJ, yes. They travel together, dine together, go to parties together, Philip is by BYJ’s side for public events that don’t even involve Philip, they visit each other’s families, etc. It is the stuff that dating couples do. Plus BYJ called Philip “precious” in a recent interview and admitted that this is probably unusual for him to say about another man. He practically glows over Lee Philip. You can’t blame people for being curious about this.
Especially when BYJ showed up at promotions for Legend and publicly totally ignored his female love interest from Legend, E Jiah. He didn’t care that hundreds of people from the media and the fans saw him behaving this way. He did this over and over at every public event they attended with the cast. Instead BYJ chose to give attention to Philip. And occasionally to Moon Sori, but mostly to Philip. Never to E Jiah.
For the record and once again, I never said I sincerely think he is gay. I said if it ever came out that he was I would not be shocked. That’s all I’m saying. There are other actors that if it came out they were gay I would be totally shocked, but not BYJ.
