Can’t wait to watch it! Great Casting.

I’m worried that Song Il Gook will be trapped in re-reprising his roles as the king and the descendants of GoGuryeo Kings in the other next Jumong spin offs. I see that this is one of (possible) many to come.

Jumong kick ass! so please leave it to that…

  3. 3 palki September 6, 2008 at 12:15 am

    Yeah, he is getting type-cast.

Korean historical dramas are almost always about kings.

  6. 6 Bradley September 6, 2008 at 12:32 am

After watching trailer in youtube, Song Il Gook in this new drama is still act same like the one in jumong series especially shouting go!

  7. 7 jenfraud September 6, 2008 at 12:33 am

Jumong was a bit too boring for me! Too political and I wanted more romance! I felt cheated with Jumong and Suhsono’s love story, too….

Almost a waste of time! ALMOST!

  10. 10 rubylovefaith September 6, 2008 at 4:20 am

    Looks interesting…..

  11. 11 MT September 6, 2008 at 6:01 am

I like historic movies, so I’ll be on the look out.

Have any of you noticed how awfully awkward Choi’s fingers look in the first picture? Is the one sticking out her left index finger or her thumb?

  12. 12 ss September 6, 2008 at 7:16 am

how come song ilgook can’t be as good in modern roles?

  13. 13 nooai September 6, 2008 at 10:00 am

They should do another DAMO! no more kings!

  14. 14 CA September 6, 2008 at 10:26 am

another story about goguryeo kings. i have nothing against song il gook but i think his role in Jumong is enough. i think its gonna be boring this time.. For the me The Legend has a good story and the role of Bae Yong Joon is the best!!!

  15. 15 jen September 6, 2008 at 11:49 am

this outfit is way better than her film festival disaster. nice to see that.

  16. 16 kimsarang September 6, 2008 at 1:17 pm

oh, Jumong is back and kicking! i wont be in korea when airing starts but i hope to get a copy of its dvd once released, kekekeke…

  17. 17 waruiyume September 7, 2008 at 7:53 am

Looks interesting. I’ll definitely be watching this one!

  18. 18 JungWon September 7, 2008 at 9:05 pm

Wow, this is surely gonna be a great series as Song Il Guk is the best when it comes to historic drama!
I can see a resemblance between Choi Jung Won and Lee Young Ae.. so the Land of Wind somehow seems like a combination of Jumong and Dae Jang Geum. Well, I don’t know the story as I’ve yet to read the synopsis, but for sure I’ll be looking forward for this coz I like Song Il Guk in Jumong and I’m sure this is better coz it’s an adaptation from comics, I learned.. Fighting Song Il Guk!!!

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Well, that’s your opinion… but romance is THE MOST BORING OF ALL ASPECTS. It shows nothing but kissing and kissing and kissing and kissing. Also, romance-based stories suffers the same formula of compatibility between love teams and lacking diversity. It just centers between loveteams.

I’d rather prefer Jumong. It doesn’t focus on political aspect. If you would be able to OPEN YOUR MIND, you will not focus on ROMANCE ASPECT, you will be able to see something diverse about Jumong from being too political. At least, with being political, it doesn’t go farfetched from our reality. Romantic thingies sometimes go farfetched from the romance of the real-world.

regarding Song Il-Gook himself, he has proven his competency in some aspects—-be it in historical or not. It’s just way that historical ones are his specialties.

try watching Terms of Endearment (have you watched it, y’all?) and you will be able to see how magnetic his performance as his husband to Han Ga In.

  21. 21 soju September 9, 2008 at 5:53 am

ohhhhh yeah. i remember that final scene of ToE where he meets ‘thora’ for the first time. i couldn’t stop crying!

  22. 22 Kenz September 11, 2008 at 12:17 am

    Yap! 100% agreed with ferociousroxy:-)
i saw lots of korean drama n jumong is the best of all
even 4 ppls who prefer romance story ….i think we can say that jumong has various interesting subject to talk about;-)
i believe Sig will gv us great performance as always like in all his films (modern or ancient story)
    Keep on rocking oppa ,Gbu!

  23. 23 Alexandra September 11, 2008 at 12:39 am

well well well :-o ,it’s pity the one who said jumong boring??
how ’bout jumong’s rating? 51,9% …there was no korean drama series can beat jumong until now!!
hope ‘land of winds’ will gv us something that not easily to 4 get :-D !

    We love u Sig !

  24. 24 mamaet September 13, 2008 at 2:07 pm

i agree with you alexandra, only JUMONG got the highest rating among korean drama. Maybe Land of The Winds can beat the record, i can see the story of this korean drama is good as JUMONG

  25. 25 ferociousroxy September 16, 2008 at 6:12 pm

    thanks a lot girls.

however, i still doubt if land of the wind can break the record of jumong. if i’ll gonna compare the 2 dramas, i’d rather prefer jumong, especially as far as looks of song il gook in concerned because in land of the wind, he’s so
yeom-moonish (can you still remember yeom moon of emperor of the sea? the nemesis of jang bogo?). his looks in jumong was way great, wickedly handsome and youthful despite his beard

also, as i notice, i thought he’s gaining weight? he looked initially good at his first few months of marriage which he got a little plump

  26. 26 ardent September 23, 2008 at 6:55 pm

Song Il Gook is a versatile actor. I have watched Terms of Endearment and he made me cry a lot. His acting there is also superb.

  27. 27 Glory October 1, 2008 at 7:39 pm

    Ha ha ha (lol):-D
as 4 me ,i always loved Sig’s acting
    he’s amazing !!
land of winds will be great to watch coz he’s in that movie
n i trust he will add a touch of gold in every film he plays !
happy b’day oppa ,goodness & love will always be with you along of your life

  30. 30 lydia October 8, 2008 at 2:03 pm

Same with you SP..I WANT HIM IN A ROLE EXACTLY LIKE YEOM MOON!!! Hear me out directors in Korea!! Im tired of watching him being TOOO POLITICAL or too NICE AND INNOCENT!! What happened to the loving, caring, jealous, hot, mustaching, protecting, charming ,sweet, protectivery, revengefulry GOOK?!?! I misss him being yeom moon..=[…he loved her soo dearly that he’d rather get killed looking for her. Willing to give up his team to save her..but never did she give him a glance.. WHY THE HECK DID U HAVE TO CHANGE ROLES!! uhhh, im serious about this! TOO much political roles now Song!!

  31. 31 silverlane October 9, 2008 at 10:53 pm
