Two film festivals in a single week?
This time, the “international” part of the title was left out. As a result, only a few big name stars came to collect their awards. The 16th Chunsa Film Festival in Icheon city, despite running for that past 10+ years, doesn’t differentiate itself from the other film festivals. What makes this so special? Well, they managed to bring sexy Daniel Henney and Kim A-joong on the red carpet.
The big winners of the night were 8 awards given to the film, “The Chaser,” including best actor Ha Jung-woo and Kim Yun-suk. best director, best music (If you haven’t seen the movie, check it out!)
The Icheon Chunsa Film Festival Awards was held on September 6th 2008.

Red Carpet
Kim A-joong, in Burberry, looks like she got off the runway and forgot that the fashion show is over. Although the dress resembles a blue pinata (for some strange reason..), the dress is unusual, but the girl can pull it off. Even the platform heels look great.
Lee Hwa-sun. Boring. This could be a dress found at Dong-dae-moon.
Lee Se-eun looks great in this flowy cream dress.
Lee Seung-min wants to look like a princess but decided that she didn’t want to make it obvious so she work a chic black instead. Unfortunately, her attempt to channel princess has failed. And what is with the lace slip. That’s definitely not sexy.
Lee Mi-yeon keeps it simple and chic but the length and shape of the dress is not flattering. If anything, it makes her look short and squat. Something to avoid if you have short legs.

I love Lee Sae Eun’s dress…and Kim Ajoong pulled the dress off well!! I can’t believe that girl from sex from zero 2 got the award…

Koreans are so expressive and acting seems to come naturally to them. There’s only one actor in the whole of Korea who can’t act to save his life and he gets an award. LOL. How can they give an acting award to Daniel Henney?!!! He is the worst actor in all of Korea. It’s so unfair to all the other real actors.
BTW Kim A- Joong’s dress rocks! It’s made for the red carpet. Red carpet is the real runway!
I have to agree. Daniel Henney is a terrible terrible actor. He can’t even freaking speak Korean well! Popularity contest.
Daniel Henney isn’t too bad of an actor. He was better than I thought at My Father.

daniel henney is gorgeous but sad to say he’s not a very good actor,i’ve watched his movie seducing mr. robinson and the drama spring waltz and his acting was plain blah…wonder why he bagged the best new actor on daejong awards when some full blooded more korean actor deserve that award

I’ve never watched “my father” but have heard good things about it. daniel henney’s acting must have improved exponentially if he got an award for it. His acting in My name is kim samsoon was stiff and in seducing mr.perfect- it was like fingernails on blackboard.

Daniel Henney was actually pretty good in My Father… but that’s probably because his character was a stiff soldier who has a lack of emotion…

Love the Tom Binns necklaces on Lee Mi Yeon; woman’s a great actress. Lee Se-eun’s dress and makeup also look great, and Kim Ah Joong’s Burberry has shock factor (she pulls it off better than Agyness Deyn, who wore it on the runway and to an event). Others are blah.
maybe I’m just really stupid or slow, but were there two actresses there named “Lee Hwa Sun?” Lee Hwa-sun from “Sex is zero 2″ looks really great! Finally, someone that made me go wow “that’s hot!” the color and the cut; the style of the dress is fabulous! She rocks it! Lee Hwa-sun in the black dress is cute too, the dress is pretty, I agree it is a bit boring, another color would have worked out better^^ nonetheless it was a very pretty overall flattering dress^^ W

Daniel Henney maybe not be the best actor in the world, but he seems like a really humble and nice guy, he doesn’t really seem smug or arrogant so that could make up for his lack of acting abilities. Besides, Korean people worship, Eurasians, him just being Eurasian alone makes him that much more hotter in Korean people’s eyes especially, the females, he is seen as the perfect mixture of what some would strive for from all the plastic surgery to gain Caucasian features^^
It’s sad to hear that Koreans worship Eurasians. I’d prefer a hot blooded spicy Korean any day to a bland spam Daniel Henney.
What’s the need to give ‘em flowers. I think the winners are more interested in being able to hold the (huge) award, then those flowers. Seriously, cutting flowers for no good reason. . .
i’d still prefer a hot full blooded definitely talented korean actor than daniel henney,what makes him so popular is the fact that he is eurasian but acting wise sorry but he’s not very good(well he seems nice and humble but…),as what i’ve said earlier in my previous post many actors especially those struggling full korean actors who haven’t given a chance to show their talent and skills that are more deserving than daniel henney.

I don’t really think Asians do plastic surgery for Caucasian features. That’s a big misunderstanding and something the Caucasians have arrogantly assumed. A Caucasian nose wouldn’t fit on an Asian face. It would be too big and pointed. We have always had Asians from time immemorial with beautiful shaped noses. Not as big and pointy like the Caucasians. These people with proportionate features were considered beautiful just like in the rest of the world. Not all Asians have flat noses. A nicely shaped nose is not the domain of Caucasians. A nicely shaped Asian nose is very different from a Caucasian nose.

As a new fan of Daniel Henney, in my opinion he is not bad at all as an actor. Yeah He is stiff on “Seducing Mr. Perfect” because of his character. Yes, he got award for a New Best Actor, he deserve it. He try carry on his heritage as Korean American, even he doesn’t speak Korean at all. I’ll be proud if I’m Korean see one person who proud as Korean American, just opinion. Because of Henney, I begin to like Korean movie he…he…BTW his parent house’s still in Carson city, Michigan.
