Do you remember the little girl, Charice Pempengco who appeared on Star King belting out “And I’m Telling You”?
So what, you are thinking. She’s not even Korean. Yah we know. But here is someone who is not even Korean and has been “discovered” by America (hello Rain, Se7en and Boa).
U.S. talk show queen, Oprah is doing a special series called “Dreams Come True” which will cover not only Olympic Medalists but also this little girl from the Philippines. Oprah is dubbing her as “The Most Talented Girl in the World” and the “Girl with the Voice”. According to the preview, this episode will showcase her talent as well as give a short biography on her journey to fame. This episode will air on September 9, 2008.
Who knew Youtube and UCC had that much power to bring prestige to such a random everyday girl with a big voice?
