JYP must know what he’s doing. First he set up the Wondergirls website with the clock ticking for D-day. Then a few days ago, he put up a teaser picture and now this- a teaser MW-styled in the same way as Dreamgirls with JYP playing the producer role. How appropriate. The dancing gorilla probably chose the retro theme purposely so he can make a cameo appearance.

i wished they pronounced the words better…instead of “nobody but chu”. it sounds really bad and unprofessional using “chu”. and they really need to improve on their singing…
as much as i love the wonder girls, this would be a miss for me. they other songs were fabulous, but i just don’t know what went wrong with this song. this song doesn’t, i don’t know how to say it, fit them? hmm… hopefully they will do better.
omg, this is unexpected. when they performed DreamGirls with Joo i was like ‘hope they’re not going to sing this kind of genre’ n BOOM!!! i hope JYP knows what he’s doing.. he’s like experimenting his artists.
To be honest, it’s a miss for me. their vocal is a bit out from the key of the music. Maybe YehEun can take it but not sure about the others (although Sunye is a good singer but her voice is pitchy for this genre).Their dance is errrm dunno..

As much as I think if the population of Korean were unbiased, true talent appreciating people, the Wonder Girls would fail, we all know that the fans love them to death, especially every time Sohee sings in two keys above the back ground music.
If this is a success, it’ll prove that they have a rabid fan base, but it won’t prove anything musically.

Why does JYP always do the retro card? Doesn’t he have anything else to bring. Seems to me like it’s used as a fallback gimmick (again). No surprise. He’s too obsessed with producing “catchy” songs to make them OMGSOADDICTIVEDIES instead of actually solid songs.
Not hating or anything but I’d love to see Korean artists do something in the current instead of always doing retro-inspired music.

“So Hot” is nothing more than a repetition of a D minor chord followed by a Bb chord… Over and over and over again.
Even repetitive rap songs usually have 3 at least…
I mean, JYP honestly isn’t interested in creating music for what it is. He likes money and he wants to make songs that’ll be the most repetitive and memorable (which I’m not saying is necessarily bad, I’m just criticizing him since he always talks on and on about how he’s in the music industry to prove stuff and crap like that).

The song is sure catchy and all but they sound like some girls in a karaoke lounge. JYP hasn’t created anything good after G.O.D so I don’t think this will last, the song sure does but not the girls.
The actual song will do well because the wonder girls are the biggest thing in korea since hot and ses and 2 its not a overall bad song.
However definitely the gayo show version will better(the record version repeats “nobody but you ” chorus 30 seconds too long. If they had ommitted that, the song would have been perfect(30 sec doesn’t sell more records but a bad composed song doesn’t)
second the slow rainstone version is alot more suitable for the lyrics of this song. we all know the fast version is catchy thats why it is the headline song,but its another mistake though. (it must a korean producer mentality to do this , i mean hot, ses, sechkies never really had headline slow songs)
Finally the mini album strategy is getting dumb. One hit song and other below average fillers is parallel to the 90’s when every music artist tried to rip off the public.
wonder girls official 1st album was good and had three to 4 more than decent songs.
So hot, rainstone version of nobody but you, plus another good song should have been the official album 2 and would have made jyp and wg alot more money(plus its just the proper thing to do)

Yes it’s indeed quite unprofessional for a hit song to have such major pronunciation error, nobody but “chu” instead of you.
But the weird thing is I did not noticed it until someone told me.
I’ve replayed the song at least 10 times before someone pointed it out and I absolutely love the song nevertheless.
If you are not trying to be an english teacher here practicing oral with your students, this song is definitely superb alongside with its catchy tune. (Y)
