Rain: “Finally, I make it”
Can we just stop with the English? We know that Rain sounds like a smooth cat when he speaks in his native Korean, but turns into a foolish little monkey when he speaks in his adopted tongue. After watching the short preview of his comeback special, “Here comes Rain” on MBC, all I wanted was to hear him speak in Korean (and I am trying desperately to be nice!). Ok, what I really felt after watching this short clip was scratching my eyeballs out with a thin and sharp toothpick. No, not pleasant at all. And not something I would want to watch again.
The clip of Rain was aired during the MBC Special – ‘I Am Lee Young Ae’ on September 26th.
Rain’s full special will rain on MBC on October 10th, 2008.

As the grammar of most Asian languages are totally differnt from that of English, for an Asian, it is not a straight forward langusge to learn and to rememeber when to use what tense.
Present tense, present participle, past tense, past participle!! Go went gone going!! Do did Done doing!!

1.Yes it’s funny…(I laughed bitterly) and SO embarassing for Rain and Rain’s devoted fans(NO RAIN, DON’T YOU DARE TO SUICIDE! ; P).
2. Yes, it’s SO RUDE to make fun and over critisized people like that.
3. Was it on purpose to SHOW Rain’s Eng mistake like that? It could have been deleted at the first place! The taller the tree, the stronger the wind? Mean people.

i have this new pride that he’s one of the first koreans to make it big, like jackie chan/jet like .
at least to the big screen. Hopefully he makes it big
if not, it’ll affect Korea in more than one way.
When he’s a bit more relaxed, he doesnt sound like Steve Urkle, no worries.
As for his english, it’ll improve with time, it has to (;

give the guy a break. He is just starting to learn the language. It’s not as if he’s been speaking english from a tender age. When you read you begin with ABC, when you sing you begin with do re mi. Get the picture? you english speaking american !!! Why don’t you learn Korean and see if it is easy for you to enunciate.
english is my second language too. i learn on my early days, if you want to learn to communicate naturally in english, you have to use english even when you think. he is now on learning step to use his brain in english. since rain just return from berlin after working so many months with english speaker crews, it is natural to see him speak more english. perfect or not, that was good for him to insert english here and there. go rain … !!!
i personally think it’s ok to speak more engrish (unperfect english) rather than not trying. after a while i don’t even care whether my grammar is correct or not as long as i am able to communicate. if i only think on perfecting my grammar, i will never reach my goal.

in all honesty, his accent is okay, he pretty much got that, just you know, subject verb agreement and stuff.

I enjoy his music even though I’m not fluent in Korean. I think Rain is cool^_^ I also think his english has improved a lot. Most Americans, who take it for granted just because it is their first language,
Who CARE about HIS ENGLISH, as much as he has a TALENT, he’ll BE SUCCESSFUL wherever HE GOES !!!

Why does english is so hard in korea?. It’s very easy. You need to do is to read english books,so that your learnings will be more broaden and your pronunciation will be more good.
