MBC should stand for “More Broadcasting Cancellations”

Or at least it appears to be.

On October 11, 2008, the broadcasting powerhouse, MBC planned a huge music festival to commemorate their 40th anniversary. Instead, they canceled the concert at the last minute without rhyme or reason. Although people are speculating it is due to lack of planning, the festival has been promoted since August, so this is not an excuse. Besides, MBC would probably not cancel such a huge celebration unless they had a major problem on their hands.

Oh well, hopefully all those people who bought tickets will be able to receive a full refund. And for those overseas fans who stayed in Korea to attend this concert after the 2008 Asia Song Festival, tough beans.

  11. 13 Kwon October 15, 2008 at 11:13 am

big bang was actually the last ones to cancel.. weren’t they?
it’s pretty sad, they cancelled at LAST SECOND, literally.
some fans from japan and other places were already in korea,
when they found out that the concert was cancelled.

    what a shame tsk tsk.

  12. 15 guava October 15, 2008 at 11:15 am

  13. 16 hack October 15, 2008 at 11:16 am

Kwon -> you probably wanna clarify your second sentence you’re talking about MBC and/or artists in general.

anyway, I hope this doesn’t turn into the Peace Concert..

  14. 18 blue October 15, 2008 at 11:30 am

To many shows in production, I guess. Or somebody is mad because their artist aren’t going.

  15. 19 bubbles October 15, 2008 at 11:34 am

  16. 20 marian October 15, 2008 at 12:11 pm

wow, concert cancellations in korea is rampant. never had that many in my country (probably just one or two). poor planning perhaps?

  17. 21 evvy October 15, 2008 at 12:17 pm

How unprofessional. If I went to attend, I’d get so pissed for getting my hopes up.

  18. 22 wondergirlsfan October 15, 2008 at 12:40 pm

Festa means PARTY in Portuguese… I’d know that, it’s my native language ;3
Kinda sad they cancelled it, there were some pretty big names there that I’d love to watch~

  20. 24 damyoungji October 15, 2008 at 3:22 pm

I can’t imagine how many pissed off fans there are who were anticipating this (those who brought tickets and those who were planning to watch it on television) O__o Hopefully they will get refunds and MBC will have a good reason for it.

  21. 27 black ocean October 15, 2008 at 6:18 pm

snsd is the reason for the cancellation if you know what i mean…

  22. 28 chubzy October 15, 2008 at 6:33 pm

I WENT TO THIS CONCERT HAVING TO TAKE A 7 HOUR BUS RIDE TO GET THERE.
OMG. MBC SHOULD FULLY PAY MY BUS FARES, IT WAS 80 DOLLARS.

it was really crazy there, i arrived at like 5.30 and thats around the time the kbs camera came interviewing people. and random cassiopeia’s started screaming DONGBANGSHINKI just so the camera would capture them pouring their hearts out to their beloved tvxq :L

this man was fully swearing about lee soo man :L

sm canceled first cause mbc apparently didn’t hand in the money even to the last day, and lee soo man didn’t want to take his singers just incase it was a “hoax” and then jyp took wondergirls out, and thats why it was canceled(or one of the reasons)

sighh. i wasted 14 hours riding to a canceled concert ==

mbc even sent us a sms telling us to come to the concert on time…HOW GAY IS THAT

  23. 29 boldstripes October 15, 2008 at 6:45 pm

aaaah…the poster wasnt convincing enough for me when the first time i saw it, yeah this is blah…just wonder why they cancelled this and…this is old news eh? it’s kinda late..

  24. 30 j October 15, 2008 at 8:17 pm

    lol~ more broadcasting cancellations- nice~

  25. 31 jangmi October 15, 2008 at 8:39 pm

    GOD!!! that sucks!!!!
I feel bad to the people who bought tickets… though even their money are back.. T______T
MBS should be more responsible now becuase they dissapoint so much people.. T___T

  26. 32 Nick October 15, 2008 at 9:57 pm

    @angel
The writer(s) of that website is really disgusting. I’m sorry to say that to someone, but for the person(s) who want to destroy other people intentionally by spreading made-up thoughts through the internet, I has no respect to them. That website is different than the most-of-the-time bashing sites like here, AKP, or soulbeats. Over there is pure hates.

  27. 33 kellz October 15, 2008 at 11:13 pm

ah man, that sucks..tempers must be flaring

  28. 34 Raven October 16, 2008 at 5:47 am

    Festa or Fiesta?

    Hmmm…

  29. 35 Raven October 16, 2008 at 5:48 am

Or maybe it’s just italian o_0

  30. 36 Jenni Kim October 16, 2008 at 7:05 am

OMG, I’m so glad now that I couldn’t make it! I was planning to buy tickets but since Ulsan was waaay on the other side of the country from where I live it would cost too much to rent a room at a hotel and buy tickets while still have enough money for transportation/food/etc.

That’s sad though, I hope those people got refunds!

  31. 37 amy October 16, 2008 at 10:20 am

oh wow , that sucks so many fans will be dissapointed .
