In his new song, “Your Number”, Se7en croons about his skills of not only having one girl but others on the side as well.
Although it’s nice to know he’s asserting his masculinity, the song seems, if anything, too typical. It sounds like any other song a person will hear on the radio in America. Hate to be nitpicky but for a guy trying to break out into the American market, he needs something unique about him that sets him apart.

i dig this song…but Rodney has done better….
the tune isn’t catchy…it doesn’t sound interesting at all. but i do have to admit that se7en has really nailed the language. as much as i’m a fan of BoA, i have to admit that she does have a big accent. yet, she didn’t take a long hiatus from work to completely dedicate herself to learning the language, so i give her that.
perhaps other than trying to merely introduce se7en through a song, his production team also wants americans to take notice of his ability to sing without a thick accent. after all, it’s easier on our ears if that singer doesn’t carry an accent throughout the entire song. if americans can recognize that, then accepting him will be much easier and then success will be a step closer.
this song shouldn’t carry such high expectations as it’s simply a method of introducing a foreign singer into the american market. once he garners more attention, then they’ll find a more catchy song to use as his “big break”.

I agree – if he is gonna make it AMERICA he needs to have a song like Passion. Otherwise, I am worried about it!

It’s weird hearing Se7en say “creepin’ on the side”. It’s ok… it is lack luster, true, but I think the R&B/hip hop scene has plateaued in the last few years, so what’s anything fresh nowadays. Maybe Se7en can do a duet with Jordan Sparks or something huh. It worked for Chris Brown.
i think he’s english is better than boa’s….but their both good…and ur right this song is kinda typical of other american songs but i like the beat…

the music scene is so much bigger and diverse compare to many other country yes including korea another reason people want to come to america is to you make more money plus album sales are not like the used to be but it is the best one worldwide and even though the radio show songs that suck there are plenty of talented artist left.
Darkchild is a great producer and the beat is good in this song
Real weak on the vocals… I don’t think Darkchild knows how to promote or even produce Se7en in the US with his talents. What a waste. I’d rather wait for Se7en’s return to Korea and his Music produced by YG.

When will Korean popstars realize that even good looking Asian American stars are far from becoming successful. Asian culture is much too different from American culture. It’s actually just a big embarrassment. Try to break through the Chinese market. They have 10 times more people than America and they would be much more receptive to accent filled American songs…

i totally can’t understand what he’s saying. the accent kills it. and it’s too slow…
it’s catchy. but that’s all it’s got going for it. he definitely needs something better if he wants to make an impact on the US market

I love Se7en! But… this song reminds me of JT. With a bit of an accent. Just a touch! I mean, honestly, if you had NO idea it was 7 and heard the song, how would you feel about it? That’s how I’m trying to look at it, unbiasedly.
The song is not bad, and how many men don’t brag about having more than one woman. Also Se7en can have me on the side, I don’t mind waiting in line. SIKE. He has the sexiest Lips I have ever seen but aren’t most men playa’s or wannabes.

Love Se7en. Love his music. Don’t like this song. Hate the lyrics. Just release the album already, and come back to Korea. The hype over his American debut album is wearing off, and I bet his Korean fans miss him.
Love the song! Have to admit, I wasn’t a huge Se7en fan before (not much of a K-Pop fan)…as an Asian American music lover I find most Korean music cheesy (my friends and I usually run away from the dance floors when DJs playing a Korean song).
But I’m a fan of Se7en now with his new English album! I kind of cringe at a few of his lines in the song, but hey it’s his debut U.S. album and if he’s got the support and acceptance of his own peeps then he’ll come back with better songs.
I mean his songs sound really amazing…how could you not grove to that beat?

Se7en can sing, there’s no doubt about it. However, this type of song and his type of voice are so common that even a UK X Factor contestant can sing like him and sounds like him. My hope for him to be recognised as a outstanding singer in the US is getting slimmer and slimmer every time he has news. Like many have already said, he should stop wasting time in the US and come back to Asia before all his fans turning away from him.
