Rain has a magic stick that makes your body shake

And that’s certainly not another name for his feet.

From “Magic Feet” to “Magic stick” – Rain again demonstrates his colorful command of the English language with the use of the unsubtle term, “magic stick” in the lyrics that he wrote for his latest track, “Bad Boy.”

My magic stick is spinning in your shivering body. You can’t go beyond my body shake. Make it Rainism The Rainism. Feel my body.”

떨리는 니 몸 안을 돌고 있는 나의 MAGIC STICK/ 더 이상 넘어갈 수 없는 한곌 느낀 BODY SHAKE/ MAKE IT RANISM THE RANISM 내 몸을 느껴 버렸어

The Korean media is divided over the use of sexually explicit lyrics. One side insists that the lyrics were intended for the international market, so it’s ok. The other side argue that the reference to his “magic stick” is not appropriate for Korean audiences.

But we have known for a while that our little Magic Feet has been desperate-the difference is that he’s just admitted it.

oh rain why why???? for the first time ever i have to say no to you. i havent heard the song yet and i’m sure i’ll like it but that is a little too dirty for me. what ever happened to subtlety? and magic stick is so five years ago.

    @blacknwhite

thank you for remind me of my mistakes. i deeply apologize to you. i’m sorry!
if the song drop to #100 would satisfy everybody, please let it be.

anyway, some one said “why people are so cruel, why can they just say he’s doing 99% mistakes, at least he’s doing one thing right”.

people learn from their mistakes, dont they?
he’s only 26, others have done something even worse than him. okay i wud not make it as an excuse.

he was once wore that t-shirt, he never did it again – he learnt
he now wrote that lyrics without much attention, i gurantee he would never do it again.

if he did it again, we are fans, at least me, are going to be the first person to criticize him.

    Totally agree with your views..

After reading most of the senseless comments, I feel as though
I’m transported back to the Ice Age or Stone Age time..
Gosh!! please, please STOP ACTING LIKE A VIRGIN!!

Sick of all the antics of the HYPOCRITES!! Stop the bitter bashing and fault-finding with RAIN..

Gives RAIN his due credit for his sensational and awesome comeback album and his electrifying performances…

I am sure there are fans of Sev7en here .
I want to say to them that: Bi – rain is no 1 And all others are number 2.(including SEV7EN or DBSK or….)

    Quote break:

“lol his fans are pathetic. i wouldn’t be surprised if rain committed a crime or breaks the law, you’d be all “omg he’z innocent!1111″”

If he commits a crime, then he shouldn’t be tolerated. But coming up with sexually explicit lyrics or wearing shirts with boobs on them can hardly be classified as a crime, unless you’re living in a prissy world where women don’t have boobs and sex is dirty. Get off the hypocrisy and start living in the real world.

MBC have regarded its broadcasting prohibition in principal as the excessive stifling of a free and creatable expression, and they have decided to give broadcasting permission. Rain’s title song “Rainism” has been getting adverse criticism by some netizens for many days. “It is possible that Rainism’s figurative expression can be read variously, it all depends on the degree of the feeling of each person.” This was the reason for giving the broadcasting permission. no matter what, i am a big fan of RAIN! that’s all that matters to me…. he is a great singer and a remarkable actor…..

let’s face it, there will always be HATERS!!!

    thanks, Brian…

First, I love his acting in I Love To Kill

Secondly, What the heck of with Rainism. Is that kind new terms of ideology?

Thridly, did he has to called what GOD give to all mankind in this world ‘magic’? For God sake, this guy is totally too much. The fact that I didn’t like his songs though he can sing is he is too much explicit in songs, dances, and lyric. Especially when he has the gut to sing Usher’s song ” Slowly” or whatever. Maybe he did turn some people on, but not me and I didnt like the fact he got the talent but used it wrongly. Be yourself Rain! You better that way. I know you can.

  12. 12 anastassia October 22, 2008 at 5:10 pm

    Oh btw:

Please do believe some people is NOT HYPORCITE and still hold strong the faith that they still people a virgin and didn’t do it until they get married. I am and I’m not a naive person/ The fact is I didn’t hate Rain and I rarely criticized him. I like him as an actor more than a singer but I do recognized his talent is singing. Even I like his acting more (though I didnt finished Full House but I finished A Love To Kill) still you can’t blame when people give a constructive criticism, asked all people do like him or accept everything in what he did or does.

It’s called different views and as long as it give in a respectful way, then let it be. Don’t be too defensive.

He is talented but he just has to be normal and pursue his dream. A professional singer and actor will be respect even by haters. That how it works.

  13. 13 anastassia October 22, 2008 at 5:16 pm

Oh, and sorry for a lot of my typos.

  14. 14 hem October 22, 2008 at 5:33 pm

@rolleyes: lol I think you missed the point of that person’s comment. that person didn’t indicate those things as crimes, but if he WERE to commit a legit one, don’t you think some fans would there to comfort him and believe no matter what he does they’ll support him?

anyway, isn’t rain suppose to go to hawaii this nov. after being sued 2 million dollars for the canceled concerts?

  15. 15 taebin October 22, 2008 at 6:24 pm

Referring to Rain schedule he will not attend the court-date in hawaii on 4 th Nov. 2008. Anyone here from hawaii – any news about the date?

“4 Nov 2008 7:00pm 9:30pm South Korea recording KBS Yoon Do Hyeon’s Love Letter “

  17. 17 fraulein October 22, 2008 at 11:52 pm

Miki summed it up much better than I did ; )

“I actually like the song very much (his dance movements to it are awesome!) and didn’t think anything of it until I heard that all heck broke loose about what people consider as sexually explicit lyrics. Rain and his camp defends the song and says it’s about dance movements but however people decide to take this, it’s their own interpretation.”

I have been reading Popseoul for close to a year and the comments in this post are some of the most convincing and mature that I have read. These ppl think and don’t just rag on ” love my oppa, etc… ”

It reinforces my belief that even though he has his fair share of (younger) fangirls, his fanbase of noonas and older folks is quite substantial.

  18. 18 DOHA October 23, 2008 at 8:16 am

So, it was Boa, now it was Rain

No, I’m not going to bash him, finger point at him, or said he has done terrible mistake, he’s gross and disgusting. I’m just going to do my comment.

First thing is, I’m amazed with how some people here used dirty language to criticize Rain’s dirty lyrics or simply bash him, if I could say so, and none complaint about the language.
I think we have teens reading the comment as well.
I suggest, please watch out for the language before you think to correct someone else’s.

Second thing is, I agree Rain has chosen the wrong language, and I believe he has his chance not to do the same mistake in the future.

  19. 19 rain_blind_fan October 23, 2008 at 8:24 am

    @blacknwhite
How if we said it vice versa? You blindly hate Rain, you didn’t even want to open your mind for possibilities.

For all haters, our side believes, which is against your belief that this controversy just because some misinterpreted lyrics.
Yet, what is left to do is you have said yours, let me say mine….. whatever his initial reason was, HE DID IT VERY WELL, you can’t even say he’s not going to make it bla bla bla bla… Face it, HE DID IT, out of your expectation.

Yeah, Rain’s fans are blind and pathetic, so? what are you going to do about that? either you scream or pulling out your hair, we’re laughing insanely hard down here, actually you guys are the pathetic one.
So much wanting to bring Rain down, and all you have is helplessly watching him going up.

My suggestion is, take care of your own idols, support them instead of being upset with Rain, they need that.
Rain is doing incredibly fine, with or without the controversial lyrics.
Hey, Rainism has topped the chart long before people rambling about the lyrics, see!!!! The music itself has captured attention.

Anything you said, he’s on top of the game. And yeah, it’s enough to justify the dirty lyrics.

Oh well, I give you what you want anyway…
    “oh my god, I can’t believe rain would become so nasty, I’m so hating him. The lyrics are so disgusting, the song was awful, he’s just a big head walking arrogantly. I can’t believe I was his fan. He’s so gay, so fugly, he can’t even sing, his dance is lame, oh god… R a a a a a a a i i i i i i i i i i i n n n!!!”

    Puahahahahahahaha…. I can’t even fake it well.
    He’s too HOT to resist
    It’s RAINISM… RAINISM…
I make you CRAZY now yes CRAZY now…

After all, it’s indeed Rainism, right people??? Mission accomplished!!!!

[Oct-22-2008] Rain is sweeping over the on-off-line chart despite the sex-appealing

Rain’s songs have been being at the height of fury on the on-off-line chart despite the issue of the sex-appealing.
Recently Rain has been in a trouble owing to a partial lyric of Rainism song.
In spite of that censure, his popularity has been going on as ever.

He has been keeping to himself by taking the first, second ranking and nearly sweeping over not only the on-line but the off-line.

    GO RAIN GO!!!!!!

  21. 21 noire October 23, 2008 at 8:36 am

@joana: you apologize to me? hm, smell sth ironic here!
But I can feel your feeling now. I am not his fan but I find myself feel a bit shocked and disappoited with his actions. I guess some of his fans have the same feeling. Many of them love him for his innocent and cute images from his dramas more than from his sexy dance, don’t they?

Yes, he’s only 26, too young but too much famous compared to guys of 30 or more. That’s why he should make things much better than required to deserve his huge fame.

he would never do it again. he is just doing it in a diferrent way. Don’t you see?

  22. 22 noire October 23, 2008 at 8:44 am

Ok, rain_blind_fan, I won’t try to be so hypocratic anymore, to please you who are the only virtuos one here.
Just wanna say if I were rain’s fan, I wouldn’t want his “mission” accomplished in such a way. But i’s not his fan, so it’s not a big deal for me, for you, huh?
Ok, I’ll stop my rain stuff here.

  23. 23 tony October 23, 2008 at 1:55 pm

    refer to noire
i don’t think most of rain’s fans have the same feeling as you . nobody has the evidence to prove the meaning of the lyrics . people just imagine with their dirty mind and
    spread to public .

  24. 24 kate0423 October 23, 2008 at 2:08 pm

Let’s not be hypocrite by saying shocked and disappointed. How can you feel that when you don’t even understand what’s Rain saying in his song.

  25. 25 Vamp Charisma October 23, 2008 at 3:44 pm

I can’t believe the board could actually argue that this wasn’t explicit! O.o Magic stick spinning inside your body? Dear Lord! That’s just disturbing… I don’t think even the international arena would find that “okay.” What a bunch of BS.

  26. 26 rain_blind_fan October 23, 2008 at 4:24 pm

    @noire

hehehehehe…. yes, i’m the most virtous one, so??
i’m not disapointed with him, i’m more than PROUD of him.
if he decided to be dirty for his popularity, so? it works for him, i dont see a reason why he cant.
you’re not even his fan, so what with the this and that? chill out and watch!! he’s going to make you sick

hey, and if you didnt like what he’s doing, we’re more than happy to let you go, should i take you to the door? it’s our hospitality, we could just kick you, but we’re too kind.
A fan like joana was just a lil too soft. and i cant believe even that joana has apologized to you, you still debate her and pick on her?? what kind of person are you? oh well, you’re just a very very great person.

i’m glad you’re not one of us

  27. 27 iam October 23, 2008 at 4:42 pm

‘hey, and if you didnt like what he’s doing, we’re more than happy to let you go, should i take you to the door? it’s our hospitality, we could just kick you, but we’re too kind’

I am a Rain’s fan but I will never think other people shouldn’t voice their opinion of him in this or any other blogs. I even believe reading different opinions from fans and non-fans make ‘fanism’ a lot more interesting.

This is also the only reason why I come to this blog. Thanks Popseoul for providing the medium!

  29. 29 rain_blind_fan October 23, 2008 at 6:03 pm

    @iam

the only reason i said what i said is because there’s no way to comunicate with people like noire.
what? franctically try to defense rain? no.. i have my own way. i’m just giving what they want to hear, in their mind Rain is a gross artist, so.. i give them that.

Rain has his every kind of fans

    @sheriberi
do you mean Bae Young Jun? that old man? hahaha… not my type.
    he’s boring, sorry BYG’s fan
i love sexy hunk like Rain

  30. 30 lev October 24, 2008 at 5:52 am

LOL. Lyrics made me think dirty. XD

  31. 31 kpopgrrl October 25, 2008 at 1:44 am

To me the lyric sounds like he’s saying majesty, which would make the line: “My majesty is spinning in your shivering body.” Which doesn’t make much sense but isn’t dirty… :P

  32. 32 feli October 26, 2008 at 3:45 pm

love Rain? Buy his CDs. Listen to them. Enjoy. Don’t take them too seriously. Don’t like Rain? Don’t buy his CDs. Don’t even watch him on tv. Why have a heart attack over the lyrics of his songs. Just don’t listen to his songs. period. Better yet, you people out there who don’t like Rain, just turn off the radio when Rain is on, okay? Just shut up. To all Rain fans, listen to his songs and enjoy them as much as Rain was when he was recording them.

  34. 34 Ooolalala!!! November 14, 2008 at 1:09 pm

Rains new song is HOT!!! WATs wrong with you ppl!!..Rains song is NOT the first song in the whole darn world to hab sexual associations..WAT IS THE FUSS?? take a CHILL pill pl!!! stop being prudes. hence his album is called Bad boy.

  35. 35 Kristie November 15, 2008 at 7:36 pm

This song is hilarious, the little sprinkles of English and his “subtle” euphemisms for sex are top notch. A+ haha

(FYI no i DO NOT hate Rain I’m just telling it like it is ha)

  36. 36 Alex December 1, 2008 at 9:36 am

hey I am all for his magic stick. =P

  37. 37 anony December 11, 2008 at 4:25 pm

    horny

hot pose i can say, but i think that pose doesnt suit the ‘magic stick in your shivering body’.

hes really becoming a nappun namja
with his songs which gets hornier.

  38. 38 Sha January 14, 2009 at 9:37 pm

LOOL, I never took that song serious (the lyrics)…I like the arrangement though (nothing special but also not bad).

As for his “magic stick” …it was unnecessary, yes.

But yes, seeing it translated now and watching the PV/MV (I do believe the “magic stick” he had there was to soothe the authorities a bit or something like this), it’s a bit over the top and just there to get attention since this kind of video and lyrics were not very present in the korean music business (the mainstream), as far as I noticed.

To me it really seems like quite a few korean artists are into that sex-sells-thing lately. (Rain, Minwhoo, DBSK and now SeungRi, to only pick out a few.)
I am not that fond of it but what can we do?

I hope it won’t get worse though.

And as to conclude this: Rain doesn’t have to prove he’s a man now…we all know, no?
    XDDDD
