When it Rains….it POURS!

The old saying is right!

Our favorite ESL student Rain, will now soon be starring along side Jun Ji-hyun in a new drama entitled, “Four Seasons”, which will be broadcast by SBS network. The story is supposedly about a war correspondent (Jun) and an adopted child (Rain) who later becomes a mercenary for France.

This seemingly uninteresting drama is costing a whopping 1.5 billion won (though they’ll most likely make it all back since Magic Feet is in it) and with greater reach beyond Korea. The drama is expected to be aired in China and Japan as well.

This will be Jun Ji-hyun’s first return to the small screen in ten years. The natural beauty is most known for her role in the classic romantic comedy, “My Sassy Girl”, with Cha Tae-hyun. As for Rain, it will have been 3 years since his last drama, “A Love to Kill” with Shin Min-ah.

“Four Seasons” is set to air in February of 2009.

It seems with all the music promotions, magazine covers, TV appearances and now this new drama, that Rain is trying to dig his magic feet deep back into Korean soil…. Maybe he’s giving up on his American dream? Should he?

What do you think?

Rain has hardly made an impact in the music industry since his comeback, I guess turning to acting is another way for him to find success

I don’t know whats so special about Jun Ji-hyun..she puts on an act and is a total tom boy. Just because she starred in the most popular movie does not make her worth of all this praise. I think they should have cast Im Su Jung who starred in “I’m a Cyborg, but it’s Ok” with Rain..she is so cute and down to earth and her acting is flawless.

i just hope this new drama wont be as sad as A love to Kill… that show made me very depressed…. but i must say, that was when i became a very big fan of Rain…. i dont care what others say…. he is just simply the best….

because rain knows how much asian fans have been waiting for him long time while he was in USA (more than 3years?) he wants to comeback home with his fans for quite time…. that doesn’t mean anyhing about giving up hope for america… idiot

” I just hope this drama isn’t too melodramatic. Rain’s last drama “Bad Love” was too painful to watch…”

Erm…. He acted in A Love to Kill, Kwon Sang-woo was in Bad Love

  17. 17 Mel November 4, 2008 at 9:40 pm

Well I liked A love to kill….. hopefully this would be a good drama!! :D

  20. 20 cappycaller November 4, 2008 at 11:12 pm

OMG..i hope this drama will shown in the Philppines..right after the airing in Korea..i love both of them..they are good actors ^o^..the story is interesting..different from the ‘Love Contract’ plots that I watched

  21. 21 felisshi November 4, 2008 at 11:15 pm

Are you kidding me? Rain will continue to be a Hollywood star for sure. Maybe he’s still waiting for the right script though. But I’m glad he’s back doing Korean drama. I’d rather see him acting in 16 or so episodes rather than in a 2 hour movie. The longer I see him on tv the better. I just can’t get enough of him. I wish I were in Korea so I could see him on tv more often. I love all his Korean dramas. They are getting better and better each time. I’m sure this latest one is no exception. Goodluck Rain. When are you coming back to Los Angeles? When is Ninja’s premiere night?

the storyline doesnt really suit my taste but there are two absolutely beautiful people in the lead so it wouldnt hurt my eyes to check it out…rain fighting.

  23. 23 Hero-JaeJoong November 5, 2008 at 1:57 am

    Huh?
Jung Ji Hyun has been missing from the small screen for 10 years?
wow.didnt know its been so long?
Anw,i hope the drama is good !
cant really say the storyline appeals to me,but i hope Rain adn JJH will do well in this drama ^^

  24. 25 soju November 5, 2008 at 4:52 am

i was wondering why, out of all the scripts out there, dRain agreed to do this one.

then i saw jung ji-hyun’s big, manly hands, and it all suddenly makes sense.

    bwahahaha

  25. 26 mastermind November 5, 2008 at 8:19 am

i read somewhere Rain did not take any hollywood offers for the moment because Warner people suggest him not to take another movie yet.
as what i know he is under 3 or 5 years contract with US Warner Studio.

my biggest dissapointment is he rejected the proposal to star in Transformer 2

the writer of this drama is Rain’s biggest fan, it’s her who ask him to star in it, and since she is also one of the best drama writers in korea, Rain puts lots of trust in her.

isnt it great to have a fan from one of the best drama writers in town? he’s sure a big deal

  26. 27 umiez November 5, 2008 at 11:31 am

The drama sounds boring! He only fits fun/comedic roles!
    And Jun Jihyun is overrated!

  27. 28 m-flo November 5, 2008 at 11:39 am

i love JJH! actually they are both JJH! jun ji hyun and jung ji hoon! but i love jun ji hyun! im definitely going to watch this for her! i hope this doesnt turn into another epic-ratings-failure like Song Hye Kyo and Hyunbin’s much hyped ‘Worlds Within’.

  28. 29 Sanjo-chan November 5, 2008 at 6:47 pm

Another Drama with Rain? Yay!! ^_^ I hope it doesn’t end up like “A Love to Kill”. This one sounds like it after seeing “War” and “Mercenary”. But it’s worth checking out a few of episodes to see how to goes..

  29. 30 sssshh November 6, 2008 at 3:12 am

But ‘A Love to Kill’ is brilliant!! It tested out Rain’s excellent acting skills. Respect!!

  30. 31 clover November 6, 2008 at 4:09 am

    where have you been girl?
    you’re sure lost

  32. 33 felisshi November 6, 2008 at 5:13 pm

If you live outside Korea like me, and you cannot get enough of your favorite male star, you feel helpless; desperate at times. So, what I do is watch youtube all the time; see his 3 dramas over and over again ; Wait patiently for his next movie or drama. So, whatever drama it is, whether it is romantic, epic or comedy ; we appreciate it so much. Beggars can’t be choosers. I can’t believe I watched “I’m a cyborg, but that’s okay”, and it’s not even up to par. So you see, that’s how I love Rain.

  33. 34 Asianman November 8, 2008 at 5:49 am

why does Rain always look like a girl too me in most of his pic is he trying to be like a girl or what
guess Rain will show his little stick between his leg for the viewer to see so he can get more viewer when it does air ^^

  34. 35 Certified Emo February 1, 2009 at 9:15 pm

hmmmmm.. they don’t have a chemistry.. haha.. i don’t like them to be a love team >>> that’s my “opinion”
