SBS takes away Rain’s magic…stick

Rain_081114

How unfortunate that Rain couldn’t finish using his magic stick on SBS.

The third largest broadcasting station does it again but this time dissing Magic Feet. During Rain’s performance of “Rainism” at the “1st Water Grand Awards,” the music abruptly stopped and switched to commercial. The backdancers just stood there in disbelief while Rain bowed to his fans before leaving stage. Even though the music eventually came back on, SBS did not apologize.

Check out the credits rolling in the middle of the performance of Rain’s “Rainism” at 1:18

SBS edited the performance but this fan cam will show you what went down at around 4 minutes into the clip.

As a result of the incident, Rain has canceled his appearance on SBS music program, “Inkigayo” on November 16th.

all of the above and more… I feel bad for Rain. My heart goes out to him. Can’t believe what SBS did to Rain. I bet you their ratings will fall…abruptly because of this incident.

what happen? what did rain did to sbs? why must they do this to rain? it’s REALLY. totally disappointed in SBS!

  10. 10 Nadia November 14, 2008 at 9:14 pm

That was very rude and unprofessional of SBS. They knew what song he was going to perform and what dancing it involved. I will definitely boycott them if I were in Seoul. I feel bad for Rain but at least he had enough professionalism to bow to his fans. I wish him the best.
    Peace

  11. 11 lala November 14, 2008 at 9:17 pm

    sbs is really an *sshole!!!!!

  12. 12 Jenni Kim November 14, 2008 at 9:22 pm

Dang, I never really liked Rain but this is really just disrespectful. I feel so bad for him T-T Really, SBS needs to change their system or something, I won’t be surprised if the ratings fall. There have been so many issues with SBS lately. I also don’t blame Rain for cancelling the appearance on Inkigayo, heck, I would too if I were him. I’m almost in shock for some reason, I don’t like Rain but it’s just so wrong, I can feel how angry the fangirls were XD

  13. 13 Ria November 14, 2008 at 9:26 pm

Thanks for the fancam. That was just trifling! I can’t believe the unprofessionalism displayed by MANY stations, not just SBS. I’m glad he cancelled his inkigayo perf, and I hope the Korean clouds boycott SBS productions until a public and formal apology is issued, and a promise to not do that again to any other artist.

wow. i’m not rain’s fan either but wow. that was just rude! i bet rain and the dancers were like “WTF???!!!” while they were walking off stage. it was real stupid of SBS to do that.

  19. 19 wondergirlsfan November 14, 2008 at 10:15 pm

SBS dont disappoint me again please
i do love your music dramas and the family stages at the end of last year :(

  20. 20 Valentia November 14, 2008 at 10:17 pm

What the… How can they do that?????? I mean, I not a big fan of him but he is not a bad guy who deserves such disrespect!!! This guy donated money to the poor!!! The girls were sooo angry, they were screaming “OPPA~~~” so sadly. Poor fans! Rain should soooooo sue them. Some of them were even screaming “What?!” and “unbelievable”, total proof of their rudeness. I hope their ratings fall flat, until they apologize to Rain and his fans formally.

  21. 21 hey! November 14, 2008 at 10:23 pm

    that is bogus as hell!

  22. 22 ^o^ November 14, 2008 at 10:25 pm

and they even don’t apologize to rain..
after humiliating rain infront of millions of people!

i wonder what will the cassies do to the sbs’ crews if dbsk is in rain’s shoes…

  23. 23 unicorn November 14, 2008 at 10:40 pm

my god these SBS people really have no ethics………if they accept a performance y cancel it so rudely………..did they think they cud get some cheap publicity out of that. SBS really maybe a big station but when it comes to ethics…they sukk big time!!!! just reflects on them………n how Rain reacted was praiseworthy……BUT ITS RAINISM NOW ….N SBS CAN GO TO HELLL!!!

  24. 24 Kelly-chi November 14, 2008 at 10:43 pm

Thankful Rain showed how to be professional versus the Broadcasting company SBS showed their lack of professionalism. It’s not like there wasn’t a rehearsal. You know for those types of shows there usually is a rehearsal. It should’ve been discussed and taken care of then. Why would they do it on the live broadcast. I mean even if it would be later editted, the live audience should’ve been allowed to view the entire performance. I am very pleased with how Rain has handled this situation.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Rain cancelled all of his appearances until an apology is issued, or simply kept his appearance to non-performing appearances.

  38. 38 shinbi November 15, 2008 at 12:00 am

    @ kate0423
yeah they published a weak apology with their homepage!!!!
    what an apology?!

  39. 39 Nell November 15, 2008 at 12:11 am

    that was soooo disrespectful!
why did they cut the perf? he even covered his ‘magic stick’, he made the effort to don’t offend anyone this time

it’s not the first time sbs does something stupid like this. they don’t seem to be that smart ¬¬

@ papperoni666: i’m sure rain did’t know this was gonna happen. he was like frozen for a second, like not knowing what to do. the backdancers didn’t know what to do either. i like they way he bowed to the fans, very professional, i must say, very respectful (unlike sbs)

  40. 40 rubylovefaith November 15, 2008 at 12:16 am

    That was wrong……..I love Rain….he deserves a formal apology……….

  41. 41 lala November 15, 2008 at 12:19 am

  44. 44 jelle November 15, 2008 at 12:39 am

It’s like SBS really discriminates Rain.. :[ Not a fan of him but he’s alrite.. But DANG! Hate you SBS! I’ma go QQ.

  45. 45 Izumi November 15, 2008 at 12:43 am

While that was quite disastrous, I think Rain handled it very professionally. He stopped his dancing as soon as the music cut off, so it almost could even pass as the end of the song and an extremely abrupt continuation into a commercial (which wouldn’t make sense though…).

Anyhow, a big no-no on SBS’s part, but I applaud Rain for handling it so well. And the performance was simply a dance-fest amaze, despite the lack of much singing and the song being a repetition of one chord over and over again, the way he handles his movements is just outstanding.

  46. 46 miki November 15, 2008 at 1:33 am

SBS posted a lame apology on their site citing show was running 20 seconds over schedule and technical error. It felt forced to cover their butts and lacked sincerity IMO.

SBS needed to remedy this fast and do damage control but they fell asleep. The whole incident was completely mishandled during and after by SBS and it’s why the news got so big. This has and no doubt will continue to come back to bite SBS in the azz.

In any case, Rain’s professionalism outshined SBS’s lack of it. Rain’s backup dancers’ body language looked as if they were ready to pound someone before walking offstage. I wonder what happened backstage…

  47. 47 bubbles November 15, 2008 at 1:42 am

    thats EFFED UP!!!

    LOL. Obnoxious fans…

  49. 49 gonzalo November 15, 2008 at 2:14 am

maybe i’m just naive, but has anyone considered the fact that SBS may have had technical problems? it wouldn’t be the first time that music stops in the middle of a performance because something goes wrong with the equipment.

  50. 50 Nunaaaaaa November 15, 2008 at 2:16 am

The fangirls scream like someone raped them.

  52. 52 confused November 15, 2008 at 2:20 am

    that’s messed up!

I must say it was classy of Rain to just bow and take things as it is.

  53. 53 felisshi November 15, 2008 at 2:21 am

I still can’t get over Rain’s humiliating experience. Why did SBS do that to him? Was that intentional? They should be proud that Rain, being one of the most sought after artists in Korea, was performing for them. SBS was unbelievably unprofessional. That was the most disgusting thing that a major network had ever done. They should be fined or penalized for this action. That was hitting below the belt SBS. Shame on you. I applaud Rain for acting calmly and cool. So dignified when he left the stage. He carried on very professionally. I wish I were there to give Rain a reassuring pat in the back and to tell him that everything’s gonna be fine; not to worry coz he didn’t do anything wrong, and it was not his fault. And for SBS, you will be the laughing stock of the whole network in Asia for acting prudishly like you belong to the medieval times. I think I need a shot of soju STAT.

  54. 54 rolleyes November 15, 2008 at 2:22 am

Ok, I like Rain but… Clouds should take a chill pill. SBS already apologized. Whether it’s a lame apology or not, THEY ALREADY APOLOGIZED. You do know that despite Rain being a ‘World Star’ and all, he still needs SBS to promote his projects, right? His trainees will make their debuts soon. He needs SBS more than SBS needs him. Jtune knows that, that’s why despite the weak apology, they accepted it and told the Clouds to let the issue pass.

BTW, Popseoul… that Magic Stick shtick of yours is really getting old.

  55. 55 Jenn November 15, 2008 at 2:25 am

    1. He sounds terrible
    2. Putting credits and then cutting to commercials is obviously not technical difficulties.
    3. How can those screaming psychos not feel embarrassed?

  56. 56 Anais69 November 15, 2008 at 2:27 am

    SBS - que bestia!!!!!

  57. 57 seung lee November 15, 2008 at 2:35 am

popseoul is anti SBS now (also RAIN), SBS DID APOLOGISE EVEN BEFORE YOU UPLOADED THIS ARTICLE.

  62. 62 yunjaelove November 15, 2008 at 3:11 am

Yeah gotta agree SBS is rude to cut Rain’s song like that ><

  63. 63 shinta November 15, 2008 at 3:12 am

  65. 65 soju November 15, 2008 at 3:26 am

    @shinta

it was priceless! almost like … payback … for … cancelling ….

    well, u know.

  66. 66 chay November 15, 2008 at 3:32 am

    @shinta

    Only a lunatic does.

Someone who has really mental issues since that person can’t get over something and has so much hatred for someone he doesn’t know personally. How crazy is that? Such a pathetic life to live.

Anyway, it was rude alright but like what has been said, there’s already an apology - and even before PS post this up. It may be lame and full of crap but Rain is still promoting his album. He still needs exposure from a big network, no matter how screwed up they could be sometimes.

  67. 67 soju November 15, 2008 at 3:37 am

    @chay

eat your words, son, because they’re so contradictory. you can’t get over something (my posts) and have so much hatred for someone you don’t know personally (me). pathetic? look into the mirror. you probably won’t see anything you like there.

  68. 68 bondooloi November 15, 2008 at 3:43 am

    that’s stupid

  69. 69 thedarkknight November 15, 2008 at 3:54 am

how unfortunate. even though, i’m not a fan of rain, what sbs did was extremely rude and wrong.

  70. 70 Mi November 15, 2008 at 3:59 am

I got to say, SBS was really rude to Rain who’s been oversea for a while. =/

  71. 71 luluspg November 15, 2008 at 4:08 am

you are a bit late popseoul…. this happened on the 12th (Korean time)…. many fans (including myself) were upset so an email was sent to SBS asking for an apology and supposedly SBS has issued an apology on their website…. (it’s in Korean so i wouldn’t understand it)

  72. 72 shinta November 15, 2008 at 4:23 am

    @ soju

You’re a lunatic?! Woah! I never knew that.. Holds water though..lol..

And again, the word “cancelled”..someone strip that off from the dictionaries..lol

“look into the mirror. you probably won’t see anything you like there”

I honestly think chay is a beautiful person, you can tell by the way she writes..*shrugs*

  73. 73 vivian0304 November 15, 2008 at 4:32 am

I’m not his big fan but i do like him, cause i can see he alway try his best during every performance, and they so rude, the apologize can’t solve this problem, really too disrespect to Rain, he was polite and has good manner to bowed before leave the stage

  74. 74 Sue November 15, 2008 at 4:36 am

i don’t like rain, but he handled this situation well, so props to him!

    sbs? wtf?

  75. 75 booh November 15, 2008 at 4:38 am

can someone explain me what is the problem with his magic stick ? i don’t really get it i watch the fancam and i still don’t understand what is the problem, maybe i’m not watching well he he.

anyways it’s not really professional to do something like this, cutting a performance on Tv and on live just like that isn’t respectful for RAIN and his poor fans who were screaming (they came and also paid and they didn’t saw all the performance.)
By the way did they cut the music with the commercial?

at least they apologized but i’m sure he will not be on SBS for a long time

i really feel ashamed for him, afterall he is SOMEONE in the Korean music how can they do such a thing it was really “cool” to bow like he did in front of the audience and to leave without a word.

    Go RAIN !

  76. 76 miki November 15, 2008 at 4:39 am

Rolleyes has a valid point. What’s done is done. SBS admitted errors, apologized (albeit lame) and now all need to move on.

As for the comment that Rain needs SBS more than visa versa - well, I’d say it’s more equally mutual. SBS shows that had mediocre ratings had been been boosted to the top due to Rain’s recent appearances. So if not SBS, there are other major networks and venues that no doubt would gladly bring him on board.

  77. 77 soju November 15, 2008 at 5:16 am

    @shinta

“beautiful” people don’t accuse others of having “mental issues” or being a “lunatic”. and they certainly don’t say that an apology is “lame and full of crap”.

so i don’t see how you think chay is a “beautiful” person just based on the way he/she writes. i think u just agree with him/her because he/she holds the same opinions of dRain as you do.

open your mind. come on … it’s okay for you to do so.

  78. 78 BKJSuh November 15, 2008 at 5:20 am

Instead of saying hwaiting say it freaking properly

화이팅, jesus christ is it so hard to type that up?

Get used to the routine people, it is SBS, it’s only normal for them to do such thing.

  79. 79 shinta November 15, 2008 at 5:28 am

    @ soju

Err..sorry, but I do think people who have a good sense of intellect are beautiful..But of course, since she’s a fan, that makes her and ‘em clouds even more beautiful..lol.. No, seriously though, I’ve got a thing for people who can write well and can write sensibly..Also that another poster, Izumi..look at the way she writes..dunno..I just salute people who’s got brains..maybe its my frustration..Bwahahaha!

And seriously again, its just natural for us to hate you right? You see where we’re coming from, right? So, we’re even..How would you feel if I dissed your beloved Bigbang?!

  80. 80 soju November 15, 2008 at 5:56 am

    @shinta

write well? who writes well? surely you’re not talking about chay who makes accusations without even knowing a person, huh? if you label the garbage that he/she puts out as literary masterpieces, then, i really feel sorry for you because you live in a world where books don’t exist.

and you can diss bigbang all you want. i don’t care. what’s it to me if you say they suck? they’re freakin entertainers. they’re out there for entertainment but when you start thinking of them as being reality, then you really have problems! geez, you act like you are getting married and have a personal stake in dRain. delusional clouds. it’s so much fun to pull your little strings.

  81. 81 Tequila November 15, 2008 at 6:00 am

This is my first time seeing Rain perform, but he really reminded me like Michael Jackson, I still dont understand why they turned off the music, when they could have just put on commercials for tv.

  82. 82 grr. November 15, 2008 at 6:05 am

sbs is soo dumb.theres nothing wrong with the song

  83. 83 shinta November 15, 2008 at 6:10 am

    @ soju

“Then, i really feel sorry for you because you live in a world where books don’t exist.”

Err..So what am I reading right at the moment then? I still got a truckload of readings, soju, mind you…I’m just entertaining this blog wars to relieve stress and detract my mind from too much work..(or not really, lol)

“and you can diss bigbang all you want. i don’t care. what’s it to me if you say they suck? they’re freakin entertainers”

Wow. You got some sense of maturity..Okay, I’ll give it to you this time..

“geez, you act like you are getting married and have a personal stake in dRain. delusional clouds. it’s so much fun to pull your little strings.”

Goodluck on your penchant to “pull little strings” soju..Believe me, you aren’t much of a big deal to me..There are so many critics out there who I can say are “real” threats to Rain..I was involved in an argument once and I was so lost for words..lol

  84. 84 soju November 15, 2008 at 6:18 am

for someone who thinks i’m not such a big deal, you sure like to respond.

and as for you being at a loss for words? don’t kid yourself … you don’t have many good arguments to begin with. there are many times when i look like this –> o_O at something you write.

    haha

  85. 85 shinta November 15, 2008 at 6:26 am

^Errr..you sure do think poopseoul is the only website that exists! Ha! Okay then, that’s a no-brainer actually! Then again, you’ve got poopseoul’s loyalty award on you, so..

  86. 86 tony November 15, 2008 at 6:43 am

it’s so ridiculos . how can sbs treat rain like that but
it shows rain’s EQ ,rain still bow before he left .

  87. 87 me November 15, 2008 at 6:45 am

get a room shinta and soju…

  88. 88 soju November 15, 2008 at 6:48 am

    @shinta

see … this is one of those times when i look like this: o_O

    huh?

if you don’t like ps so much as to use that other word you used … then why do you come here? like you said, there are other websites that exist, but you like to come here and comment all the time. hmmm ….

but don’t worry. you’re not alone. there are tons of other people out there who bash ps but come here religiously, too. must be gluttons for punishment. hahhahaha

  89. 89 soju November 15, 2008 at 6:49 am

    @me

awwwww … sorry. didn’t mean to make you feel left out. of course, you’re invited to join in. if it’s okay with shinta, that is.

  90. 90 shinta November 15, 2008 at 6:49 am

    ^lol..okay soju, let’s get a room!

  91. 91 miki November 15, 2008 at 6:50 am

Wow, I think we’re giving way too much credit to PS in bringing out this tension. Have some soju folks - I meant the drinking kind. Don’t care which brand - I’m pouring. Who wants?

  92. 92 Paula November 15, 2008 at 6:51 am

    WTF???

Gosh, poor Bi, I mean, what’s the matter with this song? It has such silly lyrics, the dancing if very discret, I mean it has nothing to do our typical songs here in Brazil… BoA’s “Eat you up” is way more explict that’s why, maybe, she got tired of always having the same image..

    Smarten up SBS

  100. 100 kathy November 15, 2008 at 7:47 am

    @chay & shinta
i dont mind if you guys are expressing your opinion but dont go and have a freakin argument that takes up most of the post comments. geez leave rain alone, big bang stays out of this and you guys go and get like some cyber room so you can make out with each other.
seriously you guys argue on practically every rain post.

    ILOVERAIN!!! heheheh

  101. 101 crappycaller November 15, 2008 at 7:59 am

how rude SBS is.. the director of the show is so unprofessional. what i know is that the director is the one who cue for everything. and was this a live broadcast? but i Rain is so professional. He even bowed to the audience before living the stage and kept his composure. A real gentleman. Sorry for SBS, their “Inkigiyo’ show will have a low rating for sure..nwayhahahah…Love you Rain

  102. 102 아저씨 November 15, 2008 at 8:08 am

WOW that upset alot of fan girls. You can hear them YAH! YAH!

  103. 103 soju November 15, 2008 at 8:33 am

    @kate

how am i taking up all the posts? as of right now, this is the 103rd on this thread. geez. at least know what you are talking about.

oh yeah. right. your ‘iloverain’ at the end says it all.

whatever. another delusional little cloud. thank you for letting me pull your strings, too.

  104. 104 H November 15, 2008 at 8:39 am

That was so rude. Rain is already a big star and does not need them. He was right to canceled his perf with inkigayo.

Other singers and stars should followed in his footsteps and boycott inkigayo too to show support for their fellow artist and veteran. The fans should also boycott SBS and just spam them with complains.

  105. 105 confused November 15, 2008 at 8:51 am

man those clouds were CRAZY on the 2nd clip. holy crap my ears are bleeding! >.<

although I’m not a big fan of the song, I do feel bad for Rain and the audience that was present there.

  106. 106 Rin November 15, 2008 at 8:54 am

okay, never liked rain but SBS can go die for all i care. That was rude and disrespectful to an astist and his dancers. Did you hear the fan girls? I thought I was going to cry and I would if it was my favourite artist. SBS, they are definitely going down.

  107. 107 wasssssssssup November 15, 2008 at 9:24 am

wth. that’s so messed up. sbs needs to CHILL OUT. if it werent for the sunday night segments, i would never watch sbs. MBC is where it’s really at anyway

  108. 108 LUCI November 15, 2008 at 9:47 am

nd i theres no apology? woah~ thats f*cked up. SBS will get affected by this mess.

  109. 109 go rain November 15, 2008 at 9:52 am

WAT AWWW I FEEL BAD FOR HIM……….!!IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AWKARD FOR HIM……..!!!
    SBS SUCKKKKSSSSSSSS…AND IS ASSHOLE

    poor rain!

  112. 112 em November 15, 2008 at 9:57 am

those girls sound like they are hving an orgasm

  113. 113 shoe November 15, 2008 at 9:58 am

    SBS is just plain evil

  114. 114 Izumi November 15, 2008 at 9:59 am

Ah, you guys, word is, SBS ended up giving a formal, public apologize via their website. I know, big-time Rain supporters are going to feel like that isn’t enough, but the damage has already been done, and I’m sure a couple of people at SBS might have gotten fired for the incident.

I’m sure they didn’t do it on purpose, and I think boycotting SBS might be taking it too far… I mean, if SBS was purposely doing naughty things or supporting discrimination or something, that’s where boycotting would come in, but to boycott it for a slip that they most likely did not intend on is a little bit over-the-top, I feel like.

I think SBS probably learned a good lesson, so let’s all try to move on. Contemplating mass-hate on SBS isn’t really going to do anything productive.

  115. 115 soju November 15, 2008 at 10:32 am

a public apology (in English) wasn’t given by dRain to his fans when his u.s. concerts were abruptly cancelled. so … why the fuss over sbs?

yeah, yeah. i’m a broken record. now all you clouds know the feeling. chew on that one for awhile.

  116. 116 Sharurotto November 15, 2008 at 10:37 am

Um yeah that was really rude, and Rain was smart to cancel his next appearance

  117. 117 chuchu November 15, 2008 at 10:41 am

Boycotting them is NOT taking it too far. This is the same jacked up station that has been going after people on Youtube and forcing them to take down english subbed versions of their show especially their popular show “We Got Married.” This is the same station that went after Coolsmurf who was translating/giving summaries of some of the shows broadcasted on SBS. But THEY won’t put the shows out in English. Does that make sense? YOu actually have shows on your station that has popularity outside of Korea where people speak English. And what do you do? Go after folks who are HELPING your shows to be popular outside of Korea. This station has been screwing up all year. So no!!! I think a boycott is in order about now. I mean…who’s running that station…a bunch of idiots!

  118. 118 helena November 15, 2008 at 10:50 am

wow.. that’s not a nice thing to do…

  119. 119 sora November 15, 2008 at 11:08 am

one word “how rude” a wise spoken word from stephanie turner from full house hehehe

  120. 120 aoizora November 15, 2008 at 11:13 am

Wow I’m actually pretty angry at SBS for doing this. I’m rather indifferent to Rain but this is a pretty atrocious act to do. Incredibly rude and uncalled for. I wouldn’t be happy until SBS issued an official apology.

  121. 121 evvy November 15, 2008 at 11:37 am

Wait, what? Wasn’t it SBS who banned Rainism from their broadcast system? Or was it something else…
But yeah, I don’t like Rain, but that’s terribly unprofessional. What the heck were they thinking?

  122. 122 Izumi November 15, 2008 at 11:53 am

    @ chuchu:

Ah, well I can understand your indignation about the YouTube thing. But, a lot of entertainment companies have been doing that, especially the ones that are getting pretty big.

SBS is by far not the worst… Japanese entertainment companies have become ultra-notorious for stalking fan-uploaded music videos for a while now. There used to be tons and tons of Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru, etc. videos, but most of them have been taken down by their respective companies and the only ones that turn up in the search results are usually fans singing the songs or home-made videos and whatnot.

SBS probably thinks that by putting down the shows on YouTube, they can get more sales on DVD, but that is pretty senseless, since most people outside of Korea won’t even bother finding out a method of purchasing those over-priced season-package DVD’s.

I mean, legally speaking, we are not allowed to upload those videos.

But in a promotional sense, fan-uploaded works have immense positive impact on culture-spreading.

  123. 123 keikoKK November 15, 2008 at 12:13 pm

wtf?! a little respect to rain would be nice >=(

  124. 124 LT November 15, 2008 at 12:56 pm

    so rude!!

  125. 125 felisshi November 15, 2008 at 1:16 pm

SBS, you did not give justice to the man and his group’s efforts. You were not fair at all. Thank God Rain did a classy act and exited quietly. Just because you think that you can hold these guys by their collars you can do what you want regardless of how the outcome would be. You must apologize formally because that was an insult to them in front of the public. I need another shot of soju.

  126. 126 Korean Ajusshi November 15, 2008 at 1:54 pm

Let’s see SBS was punished by the Beijing 2008 Olympics Committee for leaking the video of the Opening Ceremony before the event, breaking their written promise to not do it. Then, Bi/Rain participated in singing at the Closing Ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. SBS censors his performance - not once, but twice. Hmm, I see a bloody feud brewing between Rain and SBS.

  127. 127 Mimi November 15, 2008 at 2:34 pm

    holy….korean girl fans are scary

  128. 128 flyingplanes November 15, 2008 at 2:45 pm

    wtf?

yeah, i’m totally impressed by rain’s professional act of bowing before the audience, and appalled by SBS’s rude behaviour.

i so hope SBS gets what they deserve

  129. 129 mekju November 15, 2008 at 2:49 pm

hahahaha! some “world star” he is!
    u deserved that u arrogant c*nt!

  130. 130 crabapple November 15, 2008 at 2:56 pm

wow! they’re so rude for doing that ! what kind of planning did they have … love it when all the backup dancers were like wtf … haha and the angry fans !

  131. 131 ~opinionated November 15, 2008 at 3:04 pm

i can’t believe they did that, although i am not a fan, but still i am sure rain had put alot of effort into his dances and songs. Is it because rain was not regarded well by hollywood that the korea media has also taken to follow hollywood’s opinion? really it was rude for them to cut him off.

  132. 132 fraulein November 15, 2008 at 3:08 pm

Even non fans and detractors are popping up to give him props for thinking on his feet and the dignified exit. So the fiasco turned out well for him, didn’t it?

  133. 133 Maureen November 15, 2008 at 3:21 pm

I’m not that much of a Rain fan. I only bought his album because the album jacket is really cool. I buy nice album jackets like Crown J’s Fly Boy, Big Bang’s albums and Rain’s. His songs are incredibly good though. Although I not that big of a fan, but this is just so rude for them to do that. You know, degrading a star like that. I swear SBS is probably the most hated brodcasting station right now.

  134. 134 KK129 November 15, 2008 at 3:48 pm

Aww…Rain~. This is the first time I’ve heard this song, honestly. And it was JUST getting good. It’s sad and rude that they just cut him off like that, it’s like what did he do? I’m not a HUGE Rain fan, but I do acknowledge him as having an outstanding voice and talent and all that goo stuff. Though he must lay off the English…forever.
Then, I felt bad for the fangirls who were screaming their sad little hearts out and waving their poms as Rain sauntered offstage like, “Oh, it’s the end, didn’t you know? Bye bye!” Fangirl anguish is a sound that makes you want to yell back with them, lol.

  135. 135 sora November 15, 2008 at 5:41 pm

this always happens in reality when ur performance is da last, but they should have at least kept playing it in da real one and let rain finish with his performance.Maybe after da commercials, they can still switch it back to da live.Still, that’s rude too.So im really frustrated >x<

Rain is really professional in this darn thing.Hwaiting oppa!

  136. 136 kim_calvz November 15, 2008 at 6:55 pm

i think it was just a technical problem on SBS …i don’t think SBS did it in purpose….but then SBS should be responsible with this kind of matter…
i really like Rain he is very professional…proven by this video….how humble and kind of him

  137. 137 redge November 15, 2008 at 7:52 pm

    I can’t believe them!! that’s so UNFAIR.

  138. 138 pi-chan November 15, 2008 at 8:07 pm

i hate sbs for doing this to rain!!!
i wish sbs would show a better apologize~
    shame on them!
rain should cancel all his performances on sbs for a while~~
    RAIN HWAITING

  139. 139 JOANA November 15, 2008 at 9:11 pm

    clouds, move forwards! it’s done!

i feel sorry for SBS much more than i feel sorry for Rain though.

  140. 140 jenfraud November 15, 2008 at 9:23 pm

oh please enough of RAIn im sick and tired of his magic stick!!!!!

by the way it is so nice to be back haha

  141. 141 chay November 15, 2008 at 9:38 pm

    @chay

eat your words, son, because they’re so contradictory. you can’t get over something (my posts) and have so much hatred for someone you don’t know personally (me). pathetic? look into the mirror. you probably won’t see anything you like there.

    ==

Who says anything about hatred towards you?
Tsk. Tsk. This is what happens when a hater gets so much attention that that person thinks everything is about him/her.
Shhh. I could get over your posts alright. Case in point: Do I respond to every crap of a post you make? Why would I ruin my beautiful day with some words you post? Please. I have a life, thank you.

Ow. About that mirror thing, is that something out of personal experience again? tsk. I do see things that I don’t like because I know I’m not perfect but I accept it as it is…unlike you, perhaps.

    Full of yourself = insecure

And, btw, apologies can be lame and full of crap if it’s not meant and you can clearly see that it’s done just for the sake of doing it. There’s a thing called sincerity, honey. Better look it up.

    =

    @shinta
Thank you for being on my side, dear. You’re doing well, yourself.

    ==
Rain fans, move on. Things like this happen. It’s unfortunate that it happened to Rain but it already did. So let’s move on. Let’s show haters *ehem* how to do that - moving on.

  142. 142 tj November 16, 2008 at 12:22 am

If I were Rain, I will go see my lawyer and see to the possibility of suing SBS for “public humiliation.” You just don’t do this to a person, let alone a public figure who has worked hard to give a name for himself and even for Korea.

SBS in belittling Rain, you really made an impression of yourself too. I hope you are happy with whatever your intent was.

  143. 143 tj November 16, 2008 at 12:29 am

To add, and this impression you are making to the world because I am not your fellow Korean.

SBS, I hope that you will not have a corporate “take-over” in the future because your manners really sucks!

  144. 144 Rose November 16, 2008 at 1:19 am

I can’t believe that this happened to Rain. I live in the USA and we just don’t get enough of him here. It’s sad that SBS would humiliate him like this. My only wish is that he will come to the US and spread his talent around here. We need more entertainers like him. We have the same old stuff over and over. We would never do anything so rude to one of our entertainers unless they stripped down totally naked. Rain isn’t obscene just extremely sexy; and we wish he would spread some of his sexiness here.

  145. 145 Kunga November 16, 2008 at 2:14 am

for some reason i feel tht they did it on purpose to insult rain…..and are u against rain or something??(popseoul editor)…..almost every rain articles frm popseoul is soo against him…so far after he left JYP..the only gud thing i heard so far is…he has a “chocolate melting body”…..give him some credit …tht he wants to be bigger….and has bigger dreams…and ppl like u just prevent others frm achieving those dreams…rain is an inspiration to many new-comers in the south korean entertainment and even outside korea…

  146. 146 june November 16, 2008 at 2:27 am

go, go rain!!!! i suport your decision!!!

  147. 147 Jane. November 16, 2008 at 2:43 am

That was just plain rude. It was very professional of rain to bow and leave. The fans gave them hell..haha.

  148. 148 felisshi November 16, 2008 at 4:19 am

I am really boiling mad at SBS for what despicable thing they did to Rain and his group. Nope, I still cannot get it out of my system. My blood pressure goes up whenever I think about it. I feel like kicking somebody. Damn you SBS I ought to sue you for aggravating us like this. To whomever is responsible for what happened to Rain during the program, did you ever go to school? If so, perhaps you were absent when they taught you about ethics. No wonder you are only the 3rd in the business. Or is this your technique to gain popularity, to insult a famous public figure? To see Rain bowed three times before a shocked audience before he made an exit only proved that he is really humble. That shows that both his feet are still on the ground, he is down to earth. All of his efforts paid off, because I know a lot of people supported him at this time. Cheer up Rain. Don’t be too disappointed.

  149. 149 asianromance November 16, 2008 at 5:46 am

poor rain! does the entire SBS station live under a rock- i mean, shouldn’t they have heard the song beforehand before inviting Rain to perform? It’s incredibly rude of SBS to invite someone to perform and then kick them off. i can’t believe SBS decides to get all careful about what they show on tv now when a few months ago they leaked the olympics preparations and almost got in trouble with the entire world. well at least now mbc and kbs can cash in more on rain performances.

and rain- that was one very graceful exit. i almost didn’t realize that he was being kicked off the stage.

  150. 150 linhchan November 16, 2008 at 8:00 am

mna i wasn’t the biggest fan of rain but after watching his performance i think he did a great job with the song and dance since it even got me all hyped up….but that was just plain RUDE!!!! SBS just keeps messing up….i wonder if the olmpics people and rain sues them will SBS go bankrupt???

  151. 151 cutefloatie November 16, 2008 at 9:18 am

    I agree with SOJU!!!

  152. 152 lucky November 16, 2008 at 12:09 pm

not a fan of rain but he’s a great dancer. This was just really rude and very unfair after being invited to perform.

  153. 153 ricecake November 16, 2008 at 1:05 pm

when the music stops you could see that Rain freezes in dat position.. i wonder what is going thru his mind atm. glad that he is well composed and bowed to the audience. was soo looking forward to the dance move at the end.

    SBS.. tsk.. *no comment*

  154. 154 live4music November 16, 2008 at 2:07 pm

okay so apparently SBS is ful
