The dancing gorilla’s cash cows, the Wondergirls picked up the “Song of the Year” Award for their hit, “Nobody” at the 2008 Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF) on November 15th. Although we predicted that Rain would perform with the Wondergirls in their tango and disco version of the hit, “Nobody,” he didn’t. Instead, 2PM stepped in as tango partners…and later flashed the audience with some chicken breasts a la Rain.

Congrats to WG, when they debut they won ‘rookie girl group of the year’ and this year already winning 3 Daesungs? that’s pretty damn impressive, their tango with 2PM was hot and smooth and it’s nice to see 2PM show their diverse dancing skills. XD

WG looked and did amazing that night, and 2PM and 2AM did amazing also, Kwon and jay were on stage with hee jun oppa and held their own perfectly, 2AM sing one of GOD’s song and sounded so great.

lol i like it when they lipsync, it makes their performances so much more watchable. I don’t get 2PM randomly ripping their shirts off tho. Maybe they were trying to send a challenge to Mr. Chicken Breast?

Hyori and big bang should of considered lip synching.
Korean special stages don’t seem to ever sound right when they aren’t lip synching, unless of course they aren’t doing a joint stage with someone else.
Anyways, congrats to WG, they certainly earned this award.
This MKMF was a million times better than last year, maybe it was the absent of a certain failure group. LOL

That’s like me saying congrats to any song writer/composer and producer that creates the song of the year winners before WG, I can’t seem to figure out why people have such an issue with JYP being a song writer, composer and producer. =P
But anyways Congrats to WG, they were gorgeous last night, 2PM debut a little too late to win this year, but next year they will shine, they really proved themselves last night and were amazing.
Wow, I really liked that performance. They looked great and had some great stage-presence, especially on the disco rendition.
But the one thing I can’t stand about JYP is that he always uses synthesized instrumental tracks… I’ve rarely seen any of his compositions get any real orchestration. The tango version seriously had some potential, but the horridly fake-sounding (or should I say, blatantly keyboard-obvious) strings in the backgrounds totally messed it up, especially because the piece was slowed down. The only part that sounded close to being real were the pizzicatos…
The disco version looked amazing. The dance was very upbeat and just overall very powerful, especially since the song itself got up-tempo’ed.
This is just a side question, but I thought all acts on the MKMF Award Ceremony had to be performed live? I was surprised because the Wonder Girls usually sing “Nobody” live, but they seemed to have lip synced this one (if I am wrong, please do let me know, but after re-watching it a few times, and having heard their other live performances many times, I am almost 100% certain that these were playbacks).

First off, Jaebum’s hair was badass XD I was in awe when I first saw him on the red carpet.
Secondly, I’m glad they won song of the year. I would have been happier if they had won for “So Hot” though. That song was catchier as well as the dance.
^ i believed they lipsync….cuz ye eun usually doesn’t connect a certain part of her solo bridge so well when singing live. but this time she did, so yeah…well it’s all good..i guess everything has to be perfect since it’s mkmf.
@ Izumi: I’m pretty sure they lip synced for this one. I watched it last night and was wondering the same thing. But now I’m positive that it wasn’t done live. They most likely did it to focus more on the dancing (which was great btw).

Izumi WG is a pop idol group not a ballad/R&B group, JYP has produced plenty of non-synthesized instrumental tracks for G.O.D - 2AM and even 2PM (who are a pop group but have a few ballads) and his other R&B/Ballad artist/groups - Bi included.
So many people get so petty whenever WG is mentioned, just shut up damn LOL.
They did great last night and I can understand them lip synching since that disco version was pretty damn fast, it would be kind of weird to sing and esp. rap live like that.
Plus the tango barely had any singing, so who cares? atleast they don’t lip synching during promotion…like some other ‘artist’. ^_^

I must admit that their song is very catchy and I see why they won Song of the Year but their performance was so-so. Yeah, so they have a tango and disco version of the song now but their dancing is still the same old stale moves as before.

Maybe I’m crazy but I don’t believe they lip synched. At the chorus maybe but not the rest. You can hear them breathing and at the beginning of Yoobin’s rap she kind of squeaked which I believe wouldn’t have happened if they were lip synching.

What insult?? It isn’t easy to come up and promote something as catchy and good as their releases this year. Some songs are just catchy. Not good. Some songs are good but no one else can sing them. So yeah. They deserve the song of the year award. Congratulations!

They lip-synced. What’s the big deal? The whole point of the performance was the dance anyway. You can tell when artists lip-sync because they aren’t holding a mic, but are wearing that headset thing. It doesn’t sound live anyhow. There’s no way that they could’ve hit those notes so well while dancing so hard (as the Tell Me performances have shown me in the past) unless they were lip syncing. ):
