Big Bang is coming to America

bigbang_081119

Big Bang is finally coming to America!

Unfortunately, it’s not to perform.

With another hectic year winding down, Big Bang’s trip to the states is to get away from hullabaloo of the Korean music industry. But it’s not all just play. The boys will also be stepping up on their English skills and learning new dance moves (what else?). However, their objective smells strongly of a potential desire for an American debut…. but for that, we’ll have to wait and see.

Not only are the Big Bang boys coming for vacationing and career development, but they are coming to support G-Dragon who is coming to America to work on his solo album with U.S. producers. No word yet on whether or not it will be an all English album like their Japanese album “Number 1″ or which side of the continent he will be residing in (our bets are on Los Angeles because label mates Danny and Teddy of 1Tym as well as Se7en are stationed there as well).

If all goes according to plan, the boys of Big Bang will be saying goodbye to Korea and hello to America sometime in February 2009. The time also marks the end of their promotional activities for the second album “Remember”.

Either way, if the boys make it to Cali, they have to try a bit of America in the form of the  In n Out “animal style burgers and fries” (yum!).

why does everyone think big bang has a chance of making it big here in america?

do you have any idea how many have tried and failed?

i hate to be the bearer of bad news but they simply wont make it.

first thing – they have to speak english without an accent.

second thing – they have to learn some kind of martial arts

third thing – amercian has to change its views on asians in the entertainment industry and in general, which wont happen anytime soon, if ever.

my advice? stick to asian countries because the US isnt open minded enough.

Big bang would be wise to not try to debut in the US, omarion and chris brown would be dragging their asses to court if they ever saw some of their crappy ass videos LOL.

Big bang is nothing but a less talented gay-er version of omarion, and chris brown really. lol they’d get laughed out in a split second.

@ jerk you are kidding me with Chris brown right?
sure he can dance but sing? no offense but big bang can actually sing and dance?
I can understand if you mentioned usher but omarion?
last time i checked he ain’t so popular anymore. Not to say his fans love him anyless or that he isn’t talented.
But also unlike Omarion big bang always bring something new whether it is r&b, hip hop, pop, house, electonic . . .
so stop bashing big bang they definitely don’t deserve it.

boA’s been a celeb since she was 15 and shes still climbin the ladder ..

i think bb is just avoidin kr and using it as an excuse since artists lik bi and dong bang shin ki came bk and they fell down the k-pop market lik a slide

i think they are better off focusin on one spot
first it was jp nw america

okay..im from SF bay in America and i recently discovered them randomnly right after christmas holiday. I’M a guy and im straight, but they really did impress me. My genre is certian kinds R&B,hip hop, and some rap. Not korean in any way, im Filipino and this is my perspective of how they will do..if they are coming here to vacation, meet producers, AND PRACTICE THEIR ENGLISH, good for them. Having songs in english without the asain accent is crucial for them because english a big predominant language AROUND THE WORLD.. They have good potential in making it here but they have to change their styles, at least slightly. DAE SUNG(sorry about the spelling) will need the most work because didnt he say he has more of a hard time with dancing than the others besides top? plus in the always(english) song, he sounds like a really good jackie chan. That’s cool, but that’s bad. They all have good looks and all of them could do their own thing (sing or rap). VI and Tae Yang can hella dance, plus GD make nice effects on many songs. TOP and Tae Yang might actually be the keys because there is certain sound in the their voices that sound somewhat similar to great rappers and singers. Another thing that could bring them in is if someone really popular like missy elliot, kayne, timbaland would collaborate with them and introduce them, but it has to be on their album, not BBs(yet). It really just depends on how much they have to change their sound. They have to be careful on what they do. Here in america, if they cross they’re legs (esp since they’re not old but are good looking), they could come across gay here.No offense. They also need to watch their haircuts to. No offense to TOP, but my brother saw a picture of them and striaght up asked me if TOP is gay because of the look of his hair in one picture. Good luck to them if they decide to come into the american business. YOU NEVER KNOW IF THEY MIGHT BE THE FIRST BIG ASAIAN(or say KOREAN) SENSATION IN THE AMERICAN INDUSTRY. THEY ARE MY favorite ASAIN GROUP SO FAR. HAVE FUN WITH ANIMAL STYLE BURGERS AT IN n OUT. TRY A SONICS DRINK AS WELL. DONT GET FAT THOUGH.

  38. 39 Pnoy2pogi4u January 11, 2009 at 9:07 am

oh i forgot to add. You actually should bring “Strong Baby” in America. Good sound, good choreography, good face to start with. Just change it into English and lose the accent though.

  39. 40 Irene January 14, 2009 at 9:00 am

    YAY!!!!
    They’re coming to L.A. :) ))

  40. 41 alicia January 23, 2009 at 1:47 am

  41. 42 Noelani January 25, 2009 at 5:37 am

That’s great that they broke through the asian market, but I think, for the most part, it might stop there. The Korean Wave has been taking over other asian coutnries making people more accepting to Korean entertainment. I love BB but I just don’t think it will work. Look at all the other artist who came over the America and seemed to have vanished off the face of the earth (and all of them were really good artist). BB, if they come to the states, will have to change alot about them. They can no longer be called a hip-hop/r&b group because compared to orginal hip-hop/r&b, theyre a more sugar-coated and watered down version. They will need support from black artist (as I’m assuming that if they want to be taken seriously as a hip-hop/r&b group they will need to get a small black fanbase to help them become fairly well-known). They need to work on their English (although I will admit, it is getting better) and a few other things. Asian-Americans haven’t been able to seriously break through main-steam media (with music) yet, I highly doubt they will be able to accomplish something that others (who know the buisness) haven’t. I think sterotypes will get in the way of their career. Also, some time ago Seungri made a rude/racist comment about blacks…and trust me, that’s going to surface back up if they try to debut here (and using black music). I recently have been watching alot of the Strong Baby MV, apprently Perez Hilton cuaght wind of it and put it on his site…it wasn’t recieved to well. It kind of looked liek a Justin Timberlake rip off. Also, one of their earlier videos was almost exactly the same as Christ Browns and it could easily be said that they simply imitate black music. They need to work on creativity before coming over. Not to mention that all of that skinship crap is going to have to stop…and that’s pretyt much liek taking all the Korean out of them and forcing them to be American. I wish them the best of luck, but I think Epik High or Tae-Yang has a better chance of making it. I love BB but I don’t want to see them fail, but like someone siad before, you never know…they may be the first to break through the industry.

  42. 43 cali-girl January 26, 2009 at 9:59 pm

    a little random but
in n out animal style fries and burgers are the best
if big bang tries those they will never want to leave cali
if your ever in la try it you will love

  43. 44 Mrs. Matsumoto June 1, 2009 at 8:57 am

I agree with Noelani all the way, it’s sad but a lot of Americans aren’t opened minded, and I hate to sterotype but most celebrity male Asians from Korea and Japan tend to have a bit more feminity than American males are used, Poor Big Bang’s image would be torn up to pieces by A LOT of Americans, America is still a very young and immature country, think about how badly BoA did in her American debut, like a couple 100 thousand cd’s sold…. Our music taste is constantly changing, we simply don’t want shallow songs anymore that just say “I love you, let’s do it, blah blah” Maybe they should make an American debut a little later, but in the mean time, they can go on tour with their Korean songs :D
Come to Houston Big Bang!!!! <3

  44. 45 ShadowLady86 June 10, 2009 at 3:21 pm
