Boa will perform at Jingle Ball in Los Angeles

jingleball_0811301
Not really.

Boa will have her first official concert on the west coast December 6, 2008 during KIIS FM 102.7’s Jingle Ball concert featuring artists like Chris Brown, Pussycat Dolls, and Rhianna. But, she is not part of the main line up.

According to Ryan Seacrest, one of the radio hosts, she will be performing during the “special Pre-Show Performance in the Jingle Ball Village with KIIS Mixers and Tokio Hotel”, a German group who also crossed over to America. (It’s kind of sad how they’re included into the poster but she’s not.)

In other words, her performance is free and anyone can experience it as long as their are in the vicinity but it’s good exposure and will definitely be a good measure to see how Americans will receive her.

So if you’re in the area and are attending the concert check out the Jingle Ball Village and let us know what you thought about her performance.

I think this is a really good start for Boa. I love her performance of Eat You Up on Youtube Live Tokyo. I’m sure she will rock it at Jingle Ball as well. Good luck Boa!

BoA’s only an opening act for Tokio Hotel. If I remember correctly, she’s not even at the actual event; it’s at the Jingle Ball Village, where there are a bunch of stands and whatnot to promote and sell items, with a smaller stage for a mini-performance.

Nonetheless, it’s always better to get some exposure than no exposure, so this performance obviously can’t hurt. I think the main emphasis they’re putting on her is for the Dec. 3rd performance, so I wish her all the luck on that one.

I’m more than anything dying for her physical single to be released. I think SM wanted to get a good scan of how much they might sell by having the online release, and apparently, they don’t think a physical single is going to sell enough, so maybe they won’t even launch one (and I’ll just have to wait until the album, but ah, whatever happens happens).

Anyhow, I wish this hard working girl all the luck of the industry!

man… this little girl (but she looks like my big sister who’s 32 o_O) need to work harder (that wont help either i think), seriously.
nobody seems to pay attention on her with her US debut but her fans and some korean media. no progress, nothing.

good luck though, the girl gonna need it a lot

Even though she’ll only be at the pre-show, it’s still a huge exposure for her.

ps: Tokio Hotel, they aren’t good!

Wow, cut some slack people she only just started making her scratch in America starting in mid September, its been what? 2 months and a half? That’s pretty damn good for the amount of time. its really hard to market new artists, Lady Gaga and Colby O’Donis who are both talented still haven’t reached true stardom yet, BoA will probably take just as long if not longer to make a giant splash, for now lets be happy with what we have, unless you don’t like her music.

Are they saving the best for last? With BoA’s picture missing they might present her for last act. Wouldn’t that be great?

  20. 21 Anais6/9 December 3, 2008 at 10:39 am

By the way, in California if you write down Boa’s name as BoA, others might think that’s Bank of America. On the other hand, if they write it as Boa, the younger teens might think it’s a boa constrictor especially if they do not know that Boa is a female Korean popstar. Anyway, hoping that Boa will make it big in the U.S. Lots of luck!!

  21. 22 CeeT December 3, 2008 at 12:31 pm

^ Boa as the last act!? Ha, yeah maybe she’ll be made to clean the stage after everyone has gone! Ha! lol!

  22. 23 Realistic December 5, 2008 at 1:52 am

She’s not last. She’s just an opening act for Tokio Hotel. Her spot is not considered important so that’s why she’s not on the website.

  23. 25 Mila December 7, 2008 at 1:48 pm

lol @ boa fans wanting her to be last.

    Jokes right?

Please with big international names like Rihanna and such up there BoA should be thankful if she even gets to smell her sweat somewhere backstage, LOL.

Last, LOL. You guys must be on drugs.

    BoA is a nobody.

LWT is better than EYU, but ugh, still needs better lyrics.

    Quote from Jpopmusic forums:

“And I heard the Tokio Hotel fans saying “‘That stupid asian b!tch was AWFUL. We don’t need another Britney Spears.’”

  26. 28 BluJ December 8, 2008 at 6:05 am

I think getting a negative response form the Tokio Hotel fans was something to be expected.

They’re rock fans, and most every single rock lover that I know despise pop singers (and for some reason think that every single rock singer can sing better than a pop singer, which is entirely misleading, considering that there are so many of those emo/alternative rock bands with “talk singing” vocals).

Overall though, I heard that a few BoA fans got to meet her and whatnot, so I’m sure they had a good time, and that’s all that mattered for those who went.
