Smart Move? Lee Hyori will stay put in Korea

Lee Hyori has no plans to enter other Asian markets at this time.

The pop diva is already busy with her 3rd album, “Hyorish,” and television spots on “Family Outing” ( ‘패밀리가 떴다’) and “Good Sundays”  (SBS ‘일요일이 좋다’).  And she has yet to entertain plans for an Asian wide concert tour or any other promotional activities outside the motherland.  For her, having a single concert in some random country is not a way to promote her brand or image. Besides, her people state that for her to enter other markets, there would have to be some well-thought out, long term planning. Flying by the seat of your pants (cough, Rain), is not going to cut it.

However, with her name value recognition already high in other parts of Asia such as Singapore and Hong Kong, wouldn’t it be easier to expand overseas?

funny how people are happy she’s not going to expand her career outside korea. the only reason is coz it means to eliminate another rival. i saw BOA fans (especially) here being happy bout that, unbelievable!!!!
Hyori stands a chance actually, everybody does

^kreik, i heard even Jay Chou’s concert ticket was around 300 or 400 bucks for the highest in spore.
heard from a friend also that the ticket record breaking for asian performer in spore was Rain, which was as high as 900 bucks.

im glad she’s staying in the asian market because i find people like se7en and boa to be really stupid. really need to learn the language, english, before you want to be well know to other races.
yeah…werd up, seven and boa is not going to make it.

huge fan of hyori, im glad she’s making this smart move but i do wish that she plans to do more concerts or events overseas. this is more like promoting/visiting within the asian community instead of putting her name out there to western people…if you know what i mean.

anyways, im just glad she’s back on her schedules and HEALTHY~

Yes Hyori….please stay in Korea. We will tear you apart over here in the states. You can’t sing or dance. But that’s okay because Koreans think you’re sexy.

She actually is the best looking Korean girl but she has zero talent besides taking pictures.

She’s got more talent than you’ll ever have! Hyori is an awesome performer! I’m not saying she’s the best, but girl’s got talent! An Asian wide concert tour would be awesome!!!!

  12. 12 CR January 14, 2009 at 5:36 am

She is a conformist and a little girl…
ok, stay in Korea, there are people more talented and strong willed doing that job now…

  13. 13 nunu January 14, 2009 at 5:41 am

PUH-lease! She’s already a superstar and I don’t see anyone making it “big” anywhere else!

If it’s Asian wide concert, then I don’t see how that can be a bad thing. Now if she goes abroad and tries to conquer US..then that’s different story…I am sure some folks in US will be hating on her because she’s a wannabe Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey…etc….I can’t say that I agree…but I just have this prediction. She’s already established herself in Korea, and I’m sure her reputation and image are somewhat known in other parts of Asia…it’s not as if she’s a newcomer who audaciously wants to imediately be an Asian A-lister. She already is an A-lister in Korea (not in talent, of course, but based on popularity and PR).

    Good for her :) !

She doesn’t need to prove herself because she’s already proven it a long time ago!

  16. 16 Aquacool January 14, 2009 at 1:59 pm

Her jeans are too big for her. Looks awful waist down.

  17. 17 youbun7 January 14, 2009 at 4:18 pm

The chances of hong kong people know who she is pretty slim.

  18. 18 w3ndy January 15, 2009 at 5:09 am

I’m pretty sure all of China knows who she is! Hyori rocks!

What are you guys talking about?
BoA, Se7en, and Rain are all successful in Asia as a whole.
Lee Hyori hasn’t made it past Korea’s borders. That’s mainly the article and news is really about- not America.
Why would you jump to America if you haven’t reached past Korea yet?
You can’t even put her in the same league as the 3 mentioned above (you can’t even put her with DBSK or younha really). She’s gorgeous, but in terms of popularity and fame, she’s nowhere near. And when did this even talk about American debut? It’s more of other parts of Asia, not USA.
No, she doesn’t need a hamburger. She’s not anorexic. lol Notice the pic they used was a studio pic, which means obviously she’s going to look skinnier and better than she normally does.

she is not known in the U.S, because my little sister doesn’t know her and she is in love with asian music right now, for instance BB,DBSk,and rain and of course various japanese artist.

    she’s kind of a whore anyway :/

I love lee hyori and I think she is wonderful as a person and a performer. People need to stop hating on talented people. Lee Hyori is like Britney Spears in Korea. I would love to see her perform in California because I know I’ll buy her ticket even if it is $500. It doesn’t matter if she can’t really speak English. People need to be more open minded to things and stop hating on people that can actually do something.
