Rain causes trouble….yet again

20090114095211

Does this guy do anything right?

Rain is building up his track record as an unprofessional performer and business person. Basically, if you want to “make it” in the business, professionalism is everything. Keeping your word is everything. So with his unreliable reputation,  it’s no surprise that Magic Stick has canceled his concert in Shanghai for the 10th. His own management, J-tunes stated that due to the fast approaching date, bad economy and the lack of preparation, the concert was canceled. Say what? Isn’t organizing a concert all about preparation? Shouldn’t they have started preparations last year. Obviously, this is the perfect example of a rush job in the old school Korean style of  “flying by the seat of your pants.”

At the Beijing Olympics last summer, the Hong Kong press hinted that Rain will be performing in China soon, but Rain’s camp denied the whole thing. Now why would do they that? Do they think a surprise concert will sell out better?

Another stupid move. There are so many that we are losing count.

for gods sakes when you think about it rain actually still has the biggest chance of making an impact in the US out of any of the artists,he hasnt even officially debuted and hes still more famous than boa or se7en….

i’ll be as stupid as Popseoul if i’ve ever believed “her”?
but still thanks Popseoul for putting sooooooo much attentions on “specially” Rain,so Rain you’re soooooo lucky.
i’m so enjoy reading all you guys comments.

  5. 5 ah reum January 14, 2009 at 10:15 pm

as a person who is korean living in korea…

koreans DO “fly by the seat of our pants.” things are more disorganized here than they are in america. things are canceled very frequently with poor explanations. new things occur suddenly without the knowledge of other people. we learn to just adapt to it, but i understand that it isn’t the same way in other countries.

  6. 6 kingheemin January 14, 2009 at 10:44 pm

ya~ popseoul! why do you hate Rain that much?

    he’s not ‘unprofessional’~~~~

  7. 7 rolleyes January 14, 2009 at 10:46 pm

Of course, majority of the readers would rather believe the totally false “article’ from Popseoul instead of the facts, that is, it’s not even Rain’s concert in the first place but a charity concert featuring him and other Chinese artists. And the reason for the cancellation was the inability of the organizers to secure the necessary permits.

But the damage has already been done, and it was done on Rain.

Popseoul, if you still have even an iota of self-respect, you would retract this write-up and set the record straight. But that’s like, demanding too much from you, isn’t it.

  8. 8 casa January 14, 2009 at 11:27 pm

i haven’t been long enough posting here in popseoul, but was there an instance POPSEOUL had ever retract and set their write up straight? I doubt. Most especially if they don’t like the artist. No?

Well,i don’t mind being corrected, if i’m wrong.

  9. 9 LK January 14, 2009 at 11:35 pm

Hey POPSEOUL! I think you are very biased on Rain. You should get all your facts right first before saying any negative comments. Although I am not a RAIN fan, but I somehow think that you really HATE RAIN. It can be that you dislike him, trying to make his fans leave him, I think thats stupid. FANS will not leave their idols if they really enjoy his performance, love him. GET A LIFE MAN!

  10. 10 FRUITY January 14, 2009 at 11:38 pm

    haaa>>
here we are again… judging people..
    Rain is very good performer..
DO YOU WANT ME TO TELL THAT IN YOUR FACES A HUNDRED TIMES!??

    i still support Rain..

    *whoo you make me hot.,,*

  11. 11 anon January 15, 2009 at 12:11 am

cancelled concert in China or not… The fact is Rain has a bunch of fools working for him. Amen.

  12. 12 Pam January 15, 2009 at 2:20 am

It must really suck not liking Rain and having to watch him be successful. People on here with more knowledge and who actually did RESEARCH have explained the situation and yet you still decide to be a hater.

You never post good news about the guy without calling him names or making fun.

TIME magazine just named Speed Racer the no. 9 (of 10) Best Moveie of 2008. How come you didn’t mention that instead of this garbage story that no one is talking about?

If you don’t like Rain, don’t feature him on your blog site. I don’t think any of us clouds would miss your trash talking about him at all. All Rain haters are losers because they say they don’t like the guy but pay attention to every single thing he does. You probably bought his cd and made it number one right?

  13. 13 Boys over Flowers January 15, 2009 at 3:00 am

Those boots make Rain look even more gay. Next time Rain take off your pants and shirt and all your gay supporters on this site will like you even more.

  14. 14 Kim January 15, 2009 at 3:09 am

    Popseoul!

    Stop picking on others!
    What have you achieved?
I am sick of your remarks. If you can not say anything nice-keep it quiet.

Shows you how much TIME magazine and you know. Speed Racer sucked. It did it even make the top 60 movies of the year and only gross about 44 million.

  16. 16 another one bites the dust January 15, 2009 at 3:33 am

this is the one of many concerts that were unexpectedly cancelled.

and rain’s us concert was NOT cancelled due to any lawsuits that were going on – it was cancelled cus his camp couldnt set up according to federal safety regulations- but again – another sign of of the ill prepared… so sad. u would think his camp would be set up more of ppl who were competetent enough to do their job- instead trying to rush then disappoint.

fans are going to get sick of it soon

    aha… rain sucks..

  22. 22 soju January 15, 2009 at 6:33 am

    faggy pose with faggy boots.

no surprise that dRain has cancelled out on yet another concert. at least he can’t blame any of his past organizers for this one. and why does it seem like he has a lot of problems with various organizers and promoters, anyway? hmmm … think about that one for a minute.

  23. 23 selva January 15, 2009 at 7:10 am

I think this post is stupid!
stop hating on Rain you haters o_O

  24. 24 Helen January 15, 2009 at 7:55 am

    Hi Popseoul,

I’ve been reading your postings for a while, because it’s often light hearted, and entertaining. However, noticeable you have a distinct bias for RAIN. When your personal bias against him is so evident your writing becomes less persuasive, less entertaining, and it just becomes a personal ranting campaign (like those crazy ranting TV reverends). Although I’m not a fan, I think some of his achievements are wonderful, while some are questionable. However, I don’t hate people just because they become popular to dislike (i.e. Britney, and at one time even Madonna). It would be nice to see you lay-off on some of the nasty attacks.

  25. 25 lmsandra January 15, 2009 at 8:02 am

Rain is amazing and I love everything about him. I saw all the pieces from his clothing line and they Rock! I’m waiting to see if he opens a shop here in the US. Ji Hoon is a superstar!

  26. 26 SP January 15, 2009 at 9:50 am

  29. 29 shinta January 15, 2009 at 11:42 am

Then again, false news catches attention..Highlight Rain’s “allegedly” besmirched name poopseoul, the bashing benefits him! Its heart-warming how people corrected you, haha! And yes, I’m adding one comment to at least compensate you for the effort of twisting facts..

  30. 30 xingyzheng January 15, 2009 at 12:18 pm

yeah you are really twisting the news, popseoul.

  31. 31 yaya January 15, 2009 at 1:35 pm

he should just go back to jyp. at least the man is smart with his singers.

  32. 32 rain_blind_fan January 15, 2009 at 2:07 pm

for those rain fans who came to POPSEOUL and wish to see popseoul writes something nice about Rain, you guys are STUPID & DELUSIONAL ^^,

AND those who tried to explain real HARD that bRain is innocent, and wish these people would believe, oh well… you girls must be dreaming too much. they’re not gonna believe you… coz you tell a lie since you’re fans ^^,

i said… bRain could make hundreds into hundrets and into billions mistakes, i still love him ^^, (coz i’m blind ^^).

anyway, who cares with these and those cancelation but bunch of people who can’t stand him? ^^,
entertainment buzz still WANT him REAL BAD, that’s what more important..

all these people fill with such great energy could say whatever they want, that’s not going to stop WARNER to realease NINJA ASSASSIN, not gonna stop William Morris to debut him next august as a singer ^^,

  33. 33 Type_R_Ladee January 15, 2009 at 2:21 pm

Popseoul fooled all you guys who responded. You guys did exactly what they wanted and that was “TO TALK ABOUT AN ARTICLE”. They obviously knew it was fake. How else do you stir conversation except put fake stuff out. 1 for Popseoul 0 for Readers.

  34. 34 Rin January 15, 2009 at 2:23 pm

rain never impressed me. he’s a failed attempt to impress majority~

  35. 35 rain_blind_fan January 15, 2009 at 2:39 pm

  36. 36 jane January 15, 2009 at 3:09 pm

$ 1.500,000 reward to execute Hosni Mubarak, the President of Egypt…

    Hurry up…

  41. 41 felisshi January 15, 2009 at 7:40 pm

I know one who loves to hate Rain especially when I make some good remarks about him. Come out already. Admit it, you also like Rain. Otherwise you wouldn’t comment something nasty whenever Rain pops out. You’re just jealous because you want Rain all to yourself.

Anyway, none of this is Rain’s fault. It was a charity event gone sour. It was postponed until further notice.

  42. 42 fraulein January 15, 2009 at 8:04 pm

Much of the success of the blog is due to Rain-flaming.

But I have noticed that there are more Rain defenders viz the release of Rainism, the album. Which makes his ‘ comeback ‘ successful.

And well said, Pam ; )

  43. 43 deanadya January 15, 2009 at 9:05 pm

There’s no doubt i feel rainy right now :)

  44. 44 tj January 15, 2009 at 10:45 pm

Still…. when a critic becomes more & more “baseless,” he or she … becomes more & more “useless.”

  45. 45 ...... January 16, 2009 at 12:38 am

PopSeoul – why are you not reporting Rain’s successful fanmeetings held in Tokyo and Osaka on 12 and 14 Jan? And that 1200 fans turned up at the airport on 11th night even though they only knew of his arrival at the last minute. It’s interesting how Rain’s popularity and success will never be reported by PopSeoul.

  46. 46 toocutedoggy January 16, 2009 at 1:29 am

    go back to JYP already……

at least JYP can help him out ….. either with music composing / stage organization …

what’s so good to have your own entertainment company when you have one of Korea’s to entertainment company?

  47. 47 S January 16, 2009 at 2:23 am

    WTF???
POPSEOUL if u dont like him, just leave him alone!
u must post news that is not gonna bash the stars.
do u think its easy to be a world star like RAIN??
he and jtune already tried their best! u should learn to appreciate that! if u think u can do something better than him, PROVE IT!

    p.s. THINK BEFORE U SPEAK!

  48. 48 Mai January 16, 2009 at 6:57 am

    Popseoul,
I know you’ve made stupid moves on
posting negative stories/comments about Rain so
many times that we can’t count.

Think of it that way, you haters.

Rain is not what Popseoul claims him to be,
    so you need to A P O L O G I Z E.

  49. 49 felisshi January 16, 2009 at 7:40 am

Besides, who among Korea’s best talents made it big time just like Rain within a 6 year period. Even JYP himself never achieved such success. For me, the best move that Rain did in his career so far was breaking away with JYP.

  50. 50 chuchu January 16, 2009 at 8:31 am

I agree with @felisshi. More people know Rain (Bi) than any other Kpop group. Period.
