Kim Rae-won is back after his stint as a chef in the lackluster drama, “Gourmet.”
This time, the sexy actor stars as an reproduction artist in the big screen flick, “Insadong Scandal” (2009) with pop diva and awkward actress, Uhm Jung-hwa. Directed by Park Hee-gon, the film revolves the scandal of trying to sell a reproduction of a 400 year old painting that went missing 400 years ago.

Uhm Jung Hwa is, IMO, a wonderful actress. Did you see her performance in Princess Aurora? She was f***ing amazing. Love her.
I also think Uhm Jung Hwa is an amazing actress..i love her movies..and well KRW..he makes any movie great ^^

hmm… how come you refer to ‘gourmet’ as being a lackluster drama? it did quite well ratings-wise, no? and i thought it was pretty entertaining and well-made… i’m sure many people would agree?
I was about to ask the same thing as oonjai84. I haven’t seen the drama, but I’ve been reading lots of rave reviews about Gourmet Sik-gaek (?) and here, Popseoul is calling it a ‘lacklustre’ drama. Who to believe?

Um Jung Hwa isn’t an awkward actress…she’s not the best but she’s pretty good. She’s always been more of an actress than a pop diva.
uhm jung hwa was a pop icon back in the 1990s (kinda like Lee Hyori now). Then she changed focus and concentrated on movies and so far has proved that she could take on versatile roles from serious drama to comedy. She also won a couple of awards back then with her movies “Princess Aurora” and “Crazy Marriage.” I would say that she is successful both as a singer and an actress.
I totally agree with oonjai84. Gourmet is the best cooking drama I’ve seen so far. What I’ve missed in other food themed korean dramas, or Japanese for that matter, I’ve seen all in Gourmet. That movie had substance and quality especially with KRW in it. It was a very interesting portrayal of chefs, ambition, sacrifice all evolving culinary arts. What KRW is now in this movie must be all the more fun to watch because of him. He is good; so natural when he acts. I like him.

Yeah! I agree with fellishi and oonjai84. Both of you are definitely right about Gourmet (Sik-Gaek) and KRW. In fact KRW is the biggest attraction to the drama as he is well known for his excellent and natural acting. He would make any character alive and real effortlessly. And he is so full of emotion in Gourmet, made you belief his passion and love for cooking, for his father (Chef Oh)and hyung (Bong Joo), his love interest for Jin Soo, his admiration towards Joo Hee, his anger, his sadness, his determination, his happiness, his clumsiness and all. I really adore and admire him. Very much looking forward to this new movie he’s starring.
