It seems as if Seven’s management company is trying to utilize as many publicity outlets as possible with the success of Boa’s album. From the basic networking websites such as Facebook and Myspace as well as the “win a date by playing goalie” Seven’s management company desperate to get his name out.
Recently, they released a spoiler video of his February 27, 2009 photoshoot with glimpses of different outfits as well as a display of his Engrish. Although his speech has definitely improved from the last time he released a video, is all this effort really enough to succeed in the U.S. ? Looking at his “rival” Boa, it doesn’t seem THAT necessary.

He needs something fresh. Girls has a catchy beat but the lyrics are rubbish. I still dislike how they chose this song for the his debut. Just because the producer is some famous one doesn’t guarantee a nice song.
his English is good compared to BoA’s. No crap. I like BoA too but her accent is really present. But her title song is catchier.

ahahaha! se7ven will never succeed here in the states. who wants some korean justin timberlake–who can barely speak english–when we’ve got the real thing here?!? unlike BoA, se7en hasn’t done a good job of marketing himself here in the states–i wouldn’t even know that here were debuting in the states if it wasn’t for popseoul; whereas, i’ve heard about BoA on facebook, myspace, & MTV. he also hasn’t done a good job a developing his own style. let’s not even mention the terrible video/song he did with that loser lil’ kim!
Honestly, I wouldn’t call BoA’s album a success just yet because her sales aren’t doing very good. Like Se7en, she’s struggling but at least SM is trying to promote her even though their method hasn’t been very effective so far.

…Se7en. He’s ok sometimes I guess. But his single with Lil’ Kim was a joke, Cliche’ to the max. I’ve heard that “girls, girls, girls, girls” line so many times in so many songs it makes me want to scream “Hire new writers!” and the look and feel of his videos are played. He needs a new MV recipe. His current: Flashy lights, Flashy cars,Club/rooftop/houseparty, Half done pop n’ lock choreography, and girls making pouty faces is PLAYED.

Boa’s album isn’t exactly flying off the shelves, so a “success” she is not. I’m kind of surprised her album has basically sold so little with the amount of asians in CA, NY, etc. Just shows you that Boa’s not as popular even in the asian community.

there are alot of who couldnt find the album alot of the times they had to hunt for them
so the fact that sm wasnt able to get it in stores probably hurt the sales preventing fans and new listener froms buying

okay one thing that i have to mention is boa does a lot of japanese music (especially for anime shows) and is will known in the western anime lovers world, so that alone helped her a lot. she already had a presence and fan base in west just from that alone.
se7en does not, his fame was limited to korea and only recently japan, so he had more challenges
