Following Suh In-young’s vacation in the US, the high maintenance former, “We Got Married” star is ready to get back into the television spotlight with her own reality program, “Suh In-young’s Brand New Friend.”
The Mnet channel show started airing on May 14th, where twelve participants out of approximately 5,000 applicants have been chosen to undergo special missions in pursuit of the pointy nosed songstress’s friendship and each week the least brown-nosing contestant gets eliminated.
Having previously terrorized the prestigious KAIST campus in “Suh In-young in KAIST,” In-young is smart enough to realize that:
some people must have applied because they want to be a celebrity themselves, and many of them must have had other intentions, rather than purely wanting to be my friend. Many people try to befriend you based on your background, rather than taking you as you are. That’s especially true among celebrities. In the show, I will try to find someone who can really understand and like me.
And that might be difficult.
The premise is an obvious mirror of MTV’s “Paris Hilton: My New BFF,” as many netizens have pointed out, but In-young has acknowledged that “the show had many similarities with Hilton’s show, but I’m different from Paris Hilton because the show is about how I deal with people and make friends, there must be a difference that only I can create.”
Having been trademarked for her “frankness,” In-young is sure to be putting her potential “friends” through the ringer, which makes for entertaining television.

I seriously respect Seo in young. i think shes one of the most down to earth korean celebs..
her shows are good too, plus she also has amazing vocals but she doesnt show much confidence at it..

I’ll watch it…I do think she won’t be as ridiculous as Paris Hilton. And if you’ve seen her in past subbed youtube clips (before We Got Married), she really isn’t a b*tchy broad…I think she just created this fitting character and it has evolved. At least it’s not some sweet yet boring celeb doing the show. I agree with Monica that In-Young also has genuine vocal skills…but it’s rarely showcased.

I remember a couple of years ago Yoon Eunhye and Seo Inyoung used to be like best friends, and on a program, Inyoung admitted that YEH was like the only person she was really close with and made it sound like she was her only friend. Back then though, Inyoung had a different persona, she was the same as any sweet female celeb. Of course, her WGM was a self created and promoted thing, but wonder what happened to them. Probably still in contact with each other, but YEH is so busy and high profile now, and SIY is doing different things.
