With the Wondergirls back in the motherland selling chicken, it seems that most traces of the “Nobody” craze died down with their departure to New York but in the Philippines it seems that it is crazier than ever.
With the infamous(?) CPDRC inmates, ASAP It Girls as well as Moy Moy, Pala Boy & RoadFill, it seems the Philippines still can’t get enough of the girls. The song is seeing a lot more airtime there now then it has since their departure a couple months ago.
Hmm, does this mean JYP will take advantage of this interest and take the girls over soon? Who knows, guess we’ll have to keep an eye on them just in case.

I actually saw these vids in youtube a few days ago. I’m not suprised that POPSEOUL posted about this. I thought those vids were kinda funny, especially the SOP version. LOL. I laughed at those peeps who call themselves filipino and who are embarrassed or feel ashamed because of ‘HOW’ the song ‘nobody’ were portrayed in fil. national tv. I agree with you to some extent. I’m a fan of KPop and I hate it when my fellow Filipinos become racist to the point of bashing and cursing people of different nationalities. However, didn’t you go too far by telling that most perfs in ASAP are so damn mediocre? I’m not telling you to like FPop because you’re a Filipino. Of course I think you know that ASAP is one of the venues of Filipino artists. Consequently, by implying mediocrity in ASAP is like telling that Filipino artists are mediocre. Shouldn’t you feel any shame on posting that in a non-Filipino site? Shouldn’t you just shout that out in a Filipino site?
In addition to that, you should know that It Girls are not really singers. But, you should also know that It Girls are better than Wonder Girls. It Girls are very talented. They are great actresses who can really sing (maybe with the exception of Anne) and even dance. When you said they didn’t give justice to the song, were you aware that they just recorded and practiced for like a couple of days or so compared to Wonder Girls who most likely prepared for a month or so? I don’t like to compare It Girls with Wonder Girls, but you made me to. Also, I like KPop, but when I go to sites where Filipinos imply how they feel shameful of FPop, it makes me mad to the extent of wanting to criticize every trivial things concerning matter like this.
I don’t think what the It girls did was Fpop. For it to be Fpop it should be done by Filipino music artists (like Mocha Girls and others) and what they did was just sing someone else’s song, not their own.
I disagree on what you said that It Girls are better than Wonder Girls. I think (and again this is MY opinion) that they rest too much on their looks when they perform, rather on the performance itself.
And besides, Fpop here is not as strong as other countries’ Pop music industry. I don’t think there is even an FPop in our music industry.
It is just my opinion that I think they did something mediocre. C’mon, most of the perfs in ASAP are lipsynch. They could have tried to at least do it live, or with some lyrics recorded. Or dance to the song.
Anyways, we all have our opinions. And we are all entitled to it.
I’m not bashing on the It Girls directly, just the performance, and other performances in ASAP. I know they can do so much better than those shown.
I didn’t say that It girls’ “Nobody” performance is part of FPop. I was referring to ASAP performances as FPop, though you may not categorize most as such. FYI, most of the performances in ASAP are live. Only those not real singers like It girls do lipsync. I’ll relate Wonder Girls here again. Sorry, but I can’t help it. Have you seen and heard Wonder Girls sing live? With long period of practice, they can’t even sing any good. Thanks to music editing, we can appreciate their nice music.
