Rain is the only one who was active in USA last year. Se7en is not considered active as he wasn’t really promoting like the way Rain did.

I’m leaning more towards will.i.am not being so aware of the different Kpop acts. Rain (and I suppose now the Wonder Girls, not sure yet, but definitely Rain) is the one Kpop artist that a lot of Americans who don’t give a sliver of care about foreign music are aware of, due to his humongous hype that was given, all those news articles, magazine inclusions, lawsuits, shirtless pictures, bad English interviews, and whatnot…
I honestly respect the guy and think he’s a very talented and hard working man, who’s got some killer moves and a good R&B voice. But, honestly now, I think will.i.am pulled the two names out of his butt. I’m pretty sure once you go and ask him “So, which song do you like by them?” or “Which album did you listen to?” He’d probably have been like “Uh… Erm.. Yeah, all of them” or something, lol.

Rain was their choice because he’s been over the US a lot of times too. Most probably they have mutual acquaintances so the first Korean that popped into their minds was Rain and of course WG. But what if Rain was their choice. Did it ever cross your mind that perhaps they really saw one of Rain’s concerts and maybe they really did like what they saw. Don’t tell me, just because he is Korean, that doesn’t mean that he’s not good even if he is. Besides, one of the BEP is Asian too, Apple D’Ap (pls. correct the spelling) aka Allan Pineda. And he’s good. So the misconception about the more inferior race being less better is wrong in my opinion. There are lots of better singers that have yet to be discovered all over the world.
