Although Lee Dong-gun has denied rumors that he will be carted off for his military service in July, he cannot runaway from the Korean military for long.
After postponing his duty several times, the 29 year old actor will be enlisted on July 22nd. Knowing that he has no choice, Lee Dong-gun finally gave in. As a farewell, a fan meeting will be arranged in Kangnam on July 18th.
Lee Dong-gun will serve his country for approximately 2 years.

I’m just wondering in Korea does everyone get drafted into the military at some point?? Just wondering.
Korean males have mandatory military duty-they have to enlist by a certain age. Some males get desk jobs/promotional duties, a few cannot enlist (physical characteristic or two prevent their joining, so they get exempted from duty), but most have the basic training, etc.

I am not fond of any asian novela until I saw one of his movie and I was smitten by him, I guess there is something in him that is sooo serene whenever you see his face and it fascinate me greatly. As for being in the army I think it is better to leave your career at it’s peak ‘graceful exit as what they say.
I don’t think that he is running away maybe sad of the thought that he will be leaving his family for 2yrs and I think it’s hard that why he has been postponing it.
