Lee Young-ae garnered massive international fame with the 2003 drama “Jewel in the Palace.” With that role alone, she solidified herself as the biggest female star in the original hallyu wave. Then in 2005, she brought fans another stunning performance in the vastly different and critically acclaimed film by director Park Chan-wook, “Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.”
Although the 38 year old actress is currently looking out for her next role, she has decided to pursue her Ph.D. at her old alma mater Han-yang University. Lee Young-ae applied to the Graduate School of Theater and Cinema of Han-yang University in May, and will officially start classes this September. Lee Young-ae has a bachelor’s degree in German Language and Literature from Han-yang, and earned her master’s degree in theater and cinema from Chung-ang University in 2001.
Fame and money aren’t enough for this mega starlet, she’s aiming for perfection by studying acting theory. She’ll be Dr. Lee Young-ae soon enough.
Not only is she beautiful and talented, but she’s also smart! There are so many overrated actresses in Korea and she is one of the very few with real talent that I actually respect!

It’s wonderful to see more and more celebrities seeking higher education. I think it’s really putting all of your eggs into one basket if you chose acting as your sole route in life; it’s nice to have a backup plan and it’s nice to WANT to be educated. Maybe it’s because I am a scholar and I might be biased, but the last I checked, nobody ever got ridiculed for wanting to be smarter.
I also like how Wondergirls supporters immediately jump to their defense. Hey, they didn’t necessarily need to announce or confirm that Sohee and Sunmi were dropping out of high school. To jump at their defense even though they’ve been honest and upfront about it is pretty laughable.
Going to university doesn’t make you SMARTER, it makes you more learned/educated.
But there are also plenty of people who learn from reading/doing research on their own.

Sure, you earn loads of money, but where will you go when popularity runs out from you? Education is a thing we shouldn’t take for granted. Education is a thing we should not disregard and not just taking short courses. Education will really take you to extra miles

I have always been a fan of Lee Young-ae, but that hairstyle and dress do not flatter her at all. As women start to look older, their faces are flattered by framing layers. A fringe of bangs, rather than pulling back the top, would make the longish, wavy look work for Lee Young-ae.
That dress is ugly in every respect. The mish-mash of drab colors suck the life out of Lee Young-ae’s pale complexion, and that whatchamacallit strung across the middle of her chest looks like it was ripped from the set of Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome. The straight lines of a chemise flatter most Korean women. A jewel-stoned sapphire, forest green, or deep ruby red dress with pearls would elegantly contrast her dark eyes and hair and pale skin.
It is refreshing to see she hasn’t yet hit the Botox or Restalyne. Since Korean women avoid the sun, their skin stays youthful longer.

The life of many people is in all the drs hands and being actor is just being just an entertainer, making others peoples lives meaningful and happy, letting other people see what is in the outside world and also can help poor people from the money came from on their effort…..Lee Young-ae Lee we are all proud at you…..we lift you up and our respect is trully great no actress can replace how we respect and love you…..your a good role model not just to every fans young and old or normal people…you are also a great role model to all good actress in all different kinds of entertainment industry in the whole world…we all love you
