Get with the times, ladies!
With all the girl groups in Korea showing their stuff for the summer, girl group Kara isn’t going to miss out on the action. Having just come off their activities for “Honey” in April, the girls are already working on their next album to be released sometime mid-July. Of course, DSP Entertainment aren’t complete slave drivers *cough*, so the girls were allowed a little vacation break in Japan, as illustrated in the photos below from an early June entry of Nicole’s minihompy, before rushing them back to the studios.
Kara is currently in the studios recording their July comeback. A DSP representative stated, “the members are individually spending their personal time recording and practicing at a reasonable pace. Two songs are at the stages of completion.” While some artists take several months or even years to produce an album, Kara can apparently just pump them out like hot cakes. Guess you have to do a rush job, when the masses are craving some bubblegum pop.
The representative also went on to say, “This album’s vibe is going to be a lot different from the previous albums.” What does that mean? Well, it doesn’t mean that Kara is going to embrace the sexy, bold street trend that is popular right now. DSP has explicitly stated that, although their style will change, Kara will maintain their “cute and charming” image. So I guess if you’re tired of the wannabe gangsta chicks and booty shakers, you will still have the feminine whimsy of Kara.
Kara may not be hip with it, but they sure are consistent.

what the heck is gangster wannabe chicks? LOL. i agree with heh. the cute image……kinda gets old sometimes. i like the Afterschool image, and hope that they promote more of their songs.

OMG! The pitch of the lead singer made my ears bleed… Whoever sang it…well…she/they can sing but have no control over her/their voice(s), flow and pitch… It was so painful to hear, so definitely a bad cover…
I actually thought it’s the real thing but after few seconds of listening…I knew they couldn’t be this bad or JYP would have done something to digitally modified their voices…lol..

I think that the “cute” image matches well for kara.
I think they should stick to it or people are gonna say that they are copying other female groups.
It’s a good strategy because a loth of the girls that coming out right now have almost the same style.

What’s wrong is being cute at their age? I think it’s normal esp for asian girls to be cute or normal, instead of acting slutty or gangster.
In the top most picture, the 2nd girl and the 5th girl have like the exact same hairstyle. O_o If their faces looked a tad bit more alike, they could be twins. LoL

agreed with dedee. and kara has quite limited talent imo. they always sing the same type of songs and all of them seem to have the same voices, how are they supposed to look “talented” and different that way?
being genuinely cute and acting cute is two different things. kara does alot of the latter.
if not for nicole, i doubt i would bother much abt this group.
not a big fan, but if they don’t change to the hipper look now, sooner they’ll be too old for the cute and will want to change, and they’ll just be too late.

Are you guys forgetting that KARA’s makne, Kang Ji Young is only 15? If they go sexy now, they’ll get negative respond, esp. Ji Young. I remember Minzy from 2ne1, same age as Ji Young and she did that chest poppin’ thing, Minzy did get negative responds.
