The Korean justice system does not look kindly on people who do drugs.
But this is a bit ridiculous! Even someone who gets caught without a driver’s license gets a 1 million won fine and 2 years suspension of their driving privileges…..
Actor Joo Ji-hoon got slapped with a 6 month sentence, 1 year probation, 120 hours of community work and a measly 360,000 won fine (about 300 USD). The sentence was handed out this morning at 10am on June 23rd by the Seoul Central District Court. According to Korean law,a jail sentence of less than a year can be substituted as part of the mandatory military service. If the sentence was more than a year, jail time would have to served in addition to military service. So, in this case, military service is a better option than jail time.
We guess that he’s sorry now.
The 27 year old will do his 120 hours of community service before enlisting.
OMONA…just what happened…i really hope that he really learned his lesson…i love him sooo much as a fan…i really hope he will succeed in whatever he does…please give him a chance to make a comeback..he s such a talented actor..should not waste the talent… everyone deserve a second chance..rite?? support please…

YEH is very talented and charming, but JJH doesn’t need her name to come back, because he’s abosultely gifted in acting. Pressure to make the world happy can lead someone to do many things ESPECIALLY when all eyes are on you, so you need to calm down. Despite his talent JJH was probably feeling pressured and very insecure about his experience so he used a drug to take the edge off or something, who really knows for sure!? The only thing JJH should be sorry about is using the drug and not possessing it, because I don’t know about you, but EVERYBODY has a drug cabinet in the place whether its behind a mirror in your bathroom or in a cabinet in your kitchen. I don’t think JJH’s career has been totally shaded by the mud of the scandal. His recent projects (i.e. Antique and Naked Kitchen) are still being well received by the people.

I think Ji Joo Hoon is such a talented guy, it really sucks to see him at waste. I think everyone is making a REALLY BIG deal out of something stupid like this. ALL CELEBRITIES IN AMERICA DO DRUGS! Why should he be penalized for this? && MILITARY SERVICE?! You must be kidding me. I really enjoyed Goong and he deserves a second chance.
Just because actors in America do drugs doesn’t mean that it’s acceptable. Also, those people are abusing drugs, and you can tell because they look as crappy as the work they put out.
I do agree that it’s not as big a deal as people are making it out to be though. He’s nowhere NEAR being a druggie or an addict, and the stuff he took is incredibly soft core. A little research on them would enlighten a few. Some people, including this site make it seem like he’s strung out on crack and heroin laced with acid.

I have to register my disapproval at the decision of the Korean government to set Joo Ji Hoon free from any responsibility with regards to his drug use. Joo Ji Hoon should have spent a time in jail to serve as an example to the public that drug use or trade is not tolerated in a civilized and democratic society. The author has every right to bemoan the slap-in-the-wrist treatment of the disgraced actor by the Korean government. Just because he has reached celebrity status doesn’t mean Joo Ji Hoon should go scot-free from this mess he himself created. And I thought I was amused and agreeable at seeing my cousins giddily patronizing his television series. What a shame. Next time they do so, I will gladly and promptly turn off the television faster than they could even say “Joo Ji Hoon.”
