Don’t get too excited Hyun-ah fans, she can’t redeem herself by going back to her glory days.
For last night’s Mnet M!Countdown, 4minute performed Wondergirls’s original hit, “Tell Me.” As you may know, Hyun-ah was originally a member of the Wondergirls right up until the release of “Tell Me” and she was forced to resign from Wondergirls due to her medical condition. If there was criticism about her hogging too much attention in Wondergirls, now she has 4minute’s “Hot Issue” and she is definitely touted as the centerpiece for the group.
For some reason, it somewhat irks me that the Wondergirls are considered M!Countdown Heroes after only two years since their debut, but I suppose it makes sense because “Tell Me” was such a humongous hit. Either way, 4minute does a fairly mediocre job lip-syncing to “Tell Me” and performing the choreography. It’s fun to watch though.
Maknae So-hyun does a better job of singing So-hee’s parts than So-hee. Doll face Ga-yoon finally get some time to shine as she sings as Sun-ye. Honestly, Hyun-ah gets way too many parts during this performance. It’s understandable she gets the first verse, the rap, and the solo dance because those parts were originally delegated to her, but does she really have to sing Sun-mi’s parts as well with her whiny high-pitched voice? Leader Ji-hyun looks like she doesn’t get any solo verses, and although she gets the role of Ye-eun, Ji-yoon feels under-utilized.

Nooo!! I actually liked the Tell me song but now Hyunah ruined it for me! T_T I don’t hate her or anything but she really can’t sing I mean her voice is just….ugh…too high like a mosquito >.>…Also why did she get so many singing parts? she isn’t the leader! Ji-yoon is! Btw she actually sang gud! =D

Oh my goodness! At about 1:29 the second girl from the left went the wrong way. O.O Hyun-ah’s voice is not pleasant to listen to AT ALL. Yoobin is 100 million times better. And So-hyun does a much better job at Sohee’s parts. I def. prefer the Wonder Girls, but of course, it’s their song. :]

Seriously, HyunAh is way too over used in 4Minute. It’s like they’re milking her ‘ex-Wondergirlness’ for all she’s got.
HyunA totally ruined the song with her high-pitched rapping and singing. Why can’t she go back to singing the normal way? And why does she sing almost the whole song? What about one verse for Jihyun?

i don’t see why they’re getting such an undeserved bad rap. Honestly i like their music and dancing thus far. Their music style is a bit different and Hot Issue is really fun to sing along to (probably just as fun as Tell Me for me). Admittedly Hyan-ah’s voice may be nasal and higher pitched than before but it fits their concept (kinda like innocent girly fun pop) and creates a unique harmony with the other girls’ voices. It’s probably what makes them sound different from the other numerous girl groups.
As for Ji-hyun i feel bad for her but perhaps she’s just a pretty face (haven’t been impressed with her singing so far). Just make Hyan-ah the leader already as if she already isn’t. And I can’t wait for more Ga-yoon and Ji-yoon since they’re the real singers in the group!

I can’t help noticing that Huyn-Ah is shaking her hip, her legs, her body too much during the performance. Like she wants the world know that she’s sexy. But, that’s so annoying, plus her voice is … I like her more in “Wonder Gals day”. But like someone above has said, Thank God she left. LMAO!
Judging by the performance you can tell Hyun A loves being in 4minute, because in 4minute she doesn’t have to share the spotlight with anyone. When she was in WG she had to compete with So Hee. People can say what they want about So Hee but the girl has a natural charm about her and she doesn’t have to do a damn thing to get attention (plus it doesn’t seem like she wants the attention anyhow). Even in her WG days I saw that Hyun A had an attention seeking whore personality about her, so it must’ve killed her to see all her hard work wasn’t paying off.
Don’t get me wrong I don’t hate Hyun A, I even kinda liked her in WG but in 4 minute all of her antics to get attention really is starting to irk me.
Gosh, I’m with you..lol. Finally someone who thinks like me…but I never like her. I think she’s an attention whore too. Just see her dance in the “Tell me” making, I already knew..maybe it’s THAT time that they decided to change her. I don’t think her illness is real. I think JYP changed her because she just isn’t fit to sing..I used to think she could be a solo artist, now I’ve completely changed my mind. Someone need to knock some sense into this girl. Being pretty and having a desire to sing/perform doesn’t mean you can actually be there and succeed. It takes talent to succeed. She doesn’t have any I think..she just have a talent to flaunt it, and that’s a disaster too.
