Yeah, people were calling(and still are) Hyun Ah a slut for dancing provocatively, but at least she has the body type and skills for this type of dance. Minji is still the best (and most liked)2ne1 member for me, but I agree she’s becoming really overrated, being brought into best female dancer conversations like she’s some dance machine.

I kind of agree (I wouldn’r have put it as “colorfully” as you did though). They were known for Big Bangs talent at first, not their own. While, yes, they are talented…they were constantly compared to BB and recieved instant fame because of it. Minji can dance, but what she did wasn’t very difficult and didn’t display her dancing abilties very well.
I’m a fan of theirs, but I’m not going to turn a blind eye when something is wrong.
Also, 2NE1, 4MIN, and SNSD fans are begining to scare me. Atleast when they decide to flame eahcothers post.

lol this is why some people are called dancers and some doctors and engineers. they are specialized in a certain category. and unfortunately, minji seems like she hasn’t been specializing in anything but chest popping lately.

To be a fan you don’t have to follow a group blindly, you just gave to enjoy what they do. Constructive critism never hurt anyone, however being plain rude is pathetic.
I’m a fan and will admit this isn’t the best choreo for her and this wasn’t her best dancing (pretty plain). I’ve seen her do better, I want her to do better.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say that some of the moves she’s doing are too young for her or just don’t fit her. There’s nothign wrong with that. The same people who say that probably said that about the WGs or SNSD or whoever. There’s nothing wrong with saying she’s overrrated or that they need to work a bit harder. Unless they are being flat out rude, nothing is wrong. Sharing an opinon does not make you a hater.

However, I believe they are a group to be reckoned with. As a rookie group, who have won 5 awards already with FIRE and IDC topping the charts.. I don’t think they haven’t done anything less. They have gotten more for it because they deserve it. However, I know they are not the best yet.. they still need to improve A LOT and I will continue to support them until I see the best of them.

What I mean by this is, there are plenty of talented underground groups in Korea who can’t seem to get famous/mainstream but may have been trying for years. All 2NE1 had to do was step out and show their face. Part of that has to do with the hype that they got (before they were even famous) and the fact that they were already signed to one of the biggest labels.
I don’t reall mean that they don’t deserve it, it’s just that there are people who have worked, what seems like, forever to get just half of the attention 2NE1 got in the first week of debuting.
Still, like them though. And glad to hear someone agrees with me (or atleast isn’t calling someone a name for disagreeing). It seems like to many people are playing both extreames and calling everyone names. Getting a bit annoying.

hey, what’s up with all the haters out there? based on the video, she really dance well. i like the way she did choreography on the non-prominent sound of the song.i do know, because i’m also a dancer. she knows how to do the lock and poppin style. with the help of formal training she can do better.

Most people aren’t making rude comments about the girl, just simply syaing she’s not their cup of tea.
A real fan wouldn’t sugarcoat their accmplishments and follow them blindly, that’s just silly. A fan enjoys what someone does but doesn’t take critisim to heart unless people are bashing them (ex: Minji is ugly—> she’s not).
The fact is, I’ve seen her dance better. This choreo was not complicated (chestpopping isn’t that big of deal…it’s hiphop 101) and was a bit odd on her. Maybe it’ll look different when they air it. If anything you should accept CONSTURCTIVE CRITISIM as a fan not push it away. How else do you expect them to get better?
Also, I’ve seen people younger thanher (yes, younger than a 15 year old) dance better. And no, they do not need to dance to the same song to know if someone is bettr. it’s all about technique and skill…if you’ve been around dancers or are one then that’s common sense. I’ve seen a 5 and 8 year old kill a song similar to BomBomPow, they were amazing for they age…and will probably be well-known dancers later… I don’t need to compare them to someone doning the same exact dance mvoes to know they are better than other people their age.

I myself am an avid fan of 2ne1. I do think they have talent. However, I do acknowledge the fact that they have their flaws just like other groups have their flaws too.
Also, comparisons between dancers of different groups can’t be helped. But I think criticisms would be more appreciated if they aren’t worded so rudely. There is a thin line between being frank and just being downright rude.
What I will not accept, though, is calling YG artists as “wannabes.” I find that comment quite racist. Just because they are Korean, it doesn’t mean they can’t attempt to sing and dance to Western music (or their interpretation of it). It may not be perfect, but you have to give them props for trying.
So to all 2ne1 haters, lovers and those in-between, chill. Don’t get too emotional over stuff like this.
