Gil Me? Who is that?
Former Sechs Kies rapper and perpetual cho-ding Eun Ji-won has recently unleashed his first protege, female vocalist Gil Me. Under his GYM Entertainment, which he started up earlier this year, Gil Me (24) is a new solo female talent that comes packing a lot of experience, having participated in the underground music scene for more than ten years, which means she started out before she hit puberty. Although there’s a lot of heated competition this summer with all the girl groups emerging, Gil Me sets herself a part from the pack with her gritty vocal ability and the backing of an industry veteran like Eun Ji-won.
Gil Me released her single, “The 1st Purple Dream Sound,” which features collaborations with Bobby Kim and Eun Ji-won himself on the song, “Love Cuts,” which he produced. Her voice sounds very forced sometimes, but overall, it’s not that bad and it’s something different amongst all these girl groups. Check out the live performance below~
When she sings, it sounds like she’s trying way too hard. Her vocals are way too “strong” for the song. Her rapping style is fairly unique. I’d like to see her rap rather than sing.
yeah, her vocals are strong, and her rapping is pretty cool…i think she should work softening her vocals and keep trying, her voice is actually nice.

she looks really young in the album picture, but old in the clip.. i think she should change her hair, i wouldnt think she was 24 unless i read it right b4 lol
tryin a bit too hard. her vocals sound like pins are poking my eardrums. if she toned it down she would be a lot easier to listen to and better and less out of breath.

but overall her transition from scary to soft high is excellenttt

Her voice is really stong. Its good in certain songs. But her voice doesn’t really suit this beat. At least she can sing really well.
