This time around, I actually feel a little sad~
Although the beginning of their comeback was initially marred by controversy and other things, it feels like Girls Generation has come and gone in a blink of an eye. The harem is ending their promotions for “Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)” with a goodbye stage on SBS Inkigayo.
I have to admit, they weren’t that annoying this time around. ”Genie” wasn’t as fatally infectious as “Gee” (which after its 100th overexposed use, made me want to rush out and get a vaccine), and was genuinely a nice sounding song without causing you diabetes with its sugar. I still have qualms about the leg choreography, but I’m sure the fanboys don’t mind at all.

Sad to see them go? Too bad suck it up. Let them take a rest…a LONG rest before they hit the music scene with another comeback. If you’re feeling withdrawal symptoms already (there’s something wrong with you, go get that checked), here’s a video of SNSD eighteen days before their official comeback practicing with a different version of “Genie”. The choreography was slightly different and the chorus part was mostly in English with “I just wanna(want your) wish”, which I think they made a good call on replacing it with Korean. Do you notice all the changes?

genie wasn’t so bad…gee was like even now if someone just mentions it i can’t get it out of my head…but they definitely need a break for us and for them.

hoyeon, yuri and yuna so stand out in the practice vid. it shows just how great they are as dancers. i actually like the original choreography compared to the one they used on stage. what i want to see is namjachingu as a performance. i love that song

honestly, it’s not really about 2NE1 in this thread, it’s about SNSD. i don’t actually think that the argument that SNSD may have had plastic surgery really has any leverage, considering that most of the entertainment industry has gone under the knife. you can’t really discriminate when it comes to plastic surgery.
Also… have you seen 2NE1 minus make-up? I was actually terrified of all of them except for fifteen year old Minzy. Not hating, just saying. Btw, I like 2NE1 as well and I think they have great stage presence.
Also, about their talent – the way I see it, Soshi is split into two quadrants; those who can sing well, and those who can dance well. The singers are Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Fany and Seohyun. The dancers are Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung and Yoona. All of them possess talents in both areas, but some are just more developed. For example, Jessica and Sooyoung can both dance and sing very well (although Sooyoung’s voice … :/)
The argument about jealousy isn’t viable either, because I’m sure that if they were jealous they would be a fan xD I’m sure the reason for antifans in the first place is not because of Fany’s supposed ‘rudeness’ (which is nonexistent as far as I have searched) or Soshi’s lack of talent (which is obviously not true. You can’t deny that Tae/Sica/Sunny/Fany/Seo can’t sing and that Hyo/Yul/Syoung/Yoona can’t dance.) It’s because of male idol groups.
To get rid of Soshi’s antifans, all you need to do is assassinate all elfs, triple s’s and cassies. but of course, that would be inpractical
