Hottests protest for the return of Jae-bum

2pm_hottests_20090913

So it begins~

With the startling and disappointing news of 2PM‘s Jae-bum quitting the group in the fact of criticisms over past derogatory MySpace comments, the Hottests have mobilized themselves in support of their idol group.

On September 13th, the Hottests scheduled a silent protest in front of the JYP Entertainment building to persuade JYP to allow Jae-bum to return. Over 1,500 fans came out and filled the streets and sidewalks with their signs, as well as discarded 2PM CDs to illustrate their boycott. It was also announced that the Hottests were going to start up another petition to bring back Jae-bum.

The protest, however, ended earlier than planned. The scheduled time frame for the silent protest was supposed to be from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, but originally the Hottests only expected about 500 people to show up. So when more than 1,500 fans showed up, it became too big of group for the protest organizers to feel comfortable with and they were a big traffic hazard. Therefore, the organizers called it off at 4:00 PM and encouraged fans to go home to ensure their safety.

As much as I support 2PM fans for their devotion to “7=1″ or any idol fans in general, sometimes I wish their energies and orchestrated efforts could go toward something more humanitarian; they could probably accomplish a lot.

Still somehow all this seems a little ridiculous. As much as I love Jae-bum in 2PM, he is an individual first before the group. Allow him to make his own decisions whether to leave or to come back.

Check out more photos from the scene~ Will the Hottests be able to sway JYP?

    this hurts….
i wish i was one of them there!!!

but yes, JAe is first his own person. but i hope that the pain from leaving will make him a stronger person.
it took a lot of guts to do what Jae did. he left to ensure the best for his brothers future! he left because he felt he might be holding his brothers back. and for that i thank him for being such a great leader!

i do hope he comes back.

First things first: Is JB willing and interested to come back to Korea? All the fans’ sincere efforts may just go down the drain. Can anybody contact him on this?

i agree on what you said that jaebeom is an individual first before the group.
and it’s completely unfair to the whole group to be put under hiatus and protested by all the fans..

but i think i see where the fans are coming from..
i wouldnt give a damn if jaebeom leave the group on good terms..it’s his life and he has as much right on what to do with it..
but the thing now is that, he left because of the hate mails and fuss that korean netizens are making..
and at the time his career is rising too..(shamely, he didnt even get to be at the peak of his career)

i love 2PM..sadly enough, my fav member is jaebeom.
he can’t leave all his fans behind just like that and expects people to assume that he is living a good life with the decision he made.
be more responsible park jaebeom shi~!
i guess the fans just want to see leadja back so much that brings them to the decision of boycotting the whole group and JYP.

yeah, for me it´s like that, I´m upset at jaebeom for NOT persisting and fighting till the end. I know, not all people possess that fighting-spirit and it´s very easy to get thoughts of giving up. But one of the reasons his fans are loving him for must surely be becos he´s a hardworking artist and not some lazy bum or some jerk that´s only relying on the looks etc… so, in order to be a great artist, in order to gain the fans trust and support, you have to be able to overcome hard obstancles, fight the “enemy”, fight your own enemy, in order to provide entertainment and joy to your clients: the fans. So it´s his duty to do his best… that´s why I´m blaming Jay as an own person, and not his agency, becos it´s always the artist himself that does the last touch of his work, that does the hard decision of how to bring out a good product for the clients,.. and it´s only the agencies duty to come with finished formula on how to achieve it. it can only work as a school, you´ve got all the instructions and information to do something, but it´s up to the student to absorbe and reflect the things….

So Jay need to get a grip, or, he´ll just be forgotten and be lasted merely as a memory.. becos, I´m very sure, his fans now sitting on the streets protesting JYP.Ent. will, with time(probably in about 1 month?) be able to forget Jay. Or a big amount of them, some will linger on for a longer time, but they won´t be many, and few people can´t accomplish much… so yeah…

Don’t know what to say any more but to share some love with everyone who support Jae Bum…you guys are brave enough to do it. brave than some other people who just thinking that What’s come away, go away… Good to know that you guys were think out of the box.

  17. 27 yunjae-faith September 15, 2009 at 2:42 am

Ummm i think they need to know that it was never JYP’s decision to keep or force Jay to leave.
it was Jaebum’s own decision and if anything,i think they should’ve protest or try to stop Jay at the airport when he was about to leave…
cos i don’t think protesting against JYP would help much.
even if JYP tried to bring Jay back and he still refused to come back, what will the fans do?
will they cont to protest or respect the man’s decision?

though i can understand where the hottest are coming from…

  18. 28 JQ September 15, 2009 at 5:24 am

these people need to get a life…protesting for a celebrity..omfg…

Go to school and get a life!

  19. 29 pumpkinpimp September 15, 2009 at 5:25 am

I really don’t see the point of the silent protest. It was never JYPE who made him leave. It’s his decision after being bombarded with the hate mails and the infamous suicide petition. Besides, he was also feeling a lot guilty over the whole fiasco so he left. I think his guilt would only increase after seeing the fans boycotting his former group. However, I do see how passionate his fans are. Heartwarming as it is…pointless nevertheless.

  20. 30 JL September 15, 2009 at 5:53 am

Selfish possessive fans… what if there’s a chance that Jay Park DOESN’T want to come back to Korea after all this mess> I swear, if some of them knew where he lived, they would haunt him down and wait outside his house all day holding a silent protest in Seattle… and once he emerges from the house they might drag him back by force to Korea -____-; Why so possessive? Give the guy time. If he truly wants to come back to 2pm, he will on his own accord. It was his decision, and we must respect the human rights that are considered universally respected – I’m sure these rights include something like “right to liberty and freedom to choose” >___<

  21. 32 kimdarbii September 15, 2009 at 7:17 am

i would have to ask “would you wanna come back if what happened to him happened to you?” like people really attacked him and kind a crossed the line with the suicide petition(Korea loves suicide).he really did nothing wrong he just wrote what he was feeling and he wasn’t park jaebum he was jay park at the time. but they still think he did wrong saying “oh he has to discipline his self when he returns and stuff”
and what about the parents imagine your whole home country hating your only child and wanting him dead, that’s nerve wrecking and scary. now they want him back, you can’t ship him on a plane saying “have fun with the people who wanted you dead” that’s just messed up it’s not just jay’s or jyp’s decision alone it’s a family desicion. he could be risking everything

  22. 33 inazipper September 15, 2009 at 7:21 am

This is great. So many people. Now if they could only channel it to help the children in Africa who have to kill people to survive or the atrocities of poverty in 3rd world countries. Heck, how about improving some places in Korea? but clearly a celebrities personal decision is more important. you guys, just forget what I just wrote. I dont know what came over me.

  23. 34 Loonie September 15, 2009 at 7:23 am

2PM isnt the same with Jaebeom out of the picture ..
hope he comes baack soon (:

  24. 35 Aidan September 15, 2009 at 7:48 am

Are JYP in korea?I think that he focused more on Mg these day rite?

  25. 37 SoReal September 15, 2009 at 10:11 am

people need to get over it… so basically the same people that ran him out of korea are the same people crying and begging him to come back?? they need to get over it… they’re the ones who ruined to 2pm and made him leave so i really hope he never comes back..

    • 38 SoReal September 15, 2009 at 10:16 am

i also dont get how returning cds and boycotting 2pm are really gonna bring jae bum back… thats really smart. “I love 2pm and want jae bum back sooo much, im not gonna support the rest of the group and not buy any of their products and throw their cds away until jae bum comes back.” idiots.

  26. 39 caleigh September 15, 2009 at 1:20 pm

korean entertainment well the ppl behide he walls that nobody every sees!! all they care about is money and how to make money and taking jay is the way then they will do it.. yeah jay did leave on his own but dont you ever think that he was forced too.. i honestly think that jay did want to run away but i think he just wanted to hide but not quit the group.. but we will know his true feeling or what went on behind the walls of jype!

  27. 40 Kim-sterr September 15, 2009 at 2:12 pm

i so agree with that blogger; many korean fans go overboard with things and it’s just creepy.

    miss u jaebum though!

what a waste of youth and energy… but maybe two hours of protesting over such cause is like a break from hard work so i guess, why not?

  30. 43 nebbie September 15, 2009 at 10:44 pm

  34. 49 KanginHwaiting September 17, 2009 at 2:32 am

i think JYP forced him to leave.. or at least suggested it.

i take my old comment back,,i have been thinking and this…..is stupid

  38. 53 한나 October 13, 2009 at 8:11 am

So now the fans are going to boycott 2PM?!?!?! In this hard situation?!?!?! They have got to be kidding me… I love 2PM & I will always support 2PM!!! Try being in their position… A big scandal about your leader comes in and then he decides to quit and not your fans are boycotting!!! How would you feel?!?!?! *sigh* I also think a lot of people are mistaken, but I do not think Jay was kicked off the team. Would you rather be kicked off or would you rather quit? That’s probably what Jay thought when making his decision… *sigh*
