f(x) have just released the MV for their newest song, “Chu~♡“.
“Chu~♡” is a very lackluster song, and so is this MV. SM Entertainment seems to be resting too much on their laurels for f(x)’s success.
There’s nothing really much to see here, except for their funky fashion. It’s slowly starting to be less of an eye sore, and more of an unique image for the girls of f(x). The MV doesn’t match the tone of the song, and some of the dance moves are very BLAH, although there are some moments where their dancing shines.
I was initially an Amber fan, but her lack of actual rapping skills is starting to become more and more apparent with each song. She’s as much of a rapper as KARA’s Nicole. Speaking English and being American aren’t automatic qualifications to be a rapper.

I thought it would be a little SNSD-ish and I seriously thought it would be good… when I heard the song, I thought it was mediocre(for a dance song, it isn’t really catchy) and then I hoped for a good MV to save f(x) but this MV isn’t suited for the song at all…CHU=KISS right? so I thought it would be red and pink everywhere, sparks flying somewhere maybe, I even thought a guy would sit in for the girls, that would’ve worked…
I think what SM is trying to do, is making a good distinction between SNSD and f(x), I mean just look at Chocolate Love… unfortunately, their efforts aren’t working.. If they wanted to make f(x) successful, give them a good song, something fierce or whatever it is f(x)’s image is… goodness sake… give these girls a good break! d:

I’m still not digging the song. The MV although looks good but boring and I’m not willing to keep watching 2 or 3 more times. The outfits are blehhhh. The black and blue one looks good but the other one………there’s no word to describe it. especially Sulli’s clothes. There’s too much Krystal for my taste. I want to see more of Luna or Victoria. Luna has actual talent and vocal but Krystal gets all the attention for being pretty and Jessica’s little sister

I don’t agree with your assessment of Amber’s flowing abilities. The girl’s got her own swagger, and she’s definitely convincing as a rapper – especially considering she’s part of a pop group. Comparing her to Nicole is really unfair – as our beautiful Glendale girl’s English is still rather sketchy and the flows that she contributed to the first KARA album were highly questionable. Amber, on the other hand, is clearly fluent and her flows are exactly that: FLUID. They make sense, and they’re not the usual fob drabble you get out of most KPoppers trying to spit in English. Considering the crap you get out of most groups in Korea, I think Amber’s execution is on point.
SM, on the other hand, needs to rethink some of the crap that they force upon their artists. Keep Yoo Young Jin working his @$$ off in the studio, and the girls will most definitely have better material to work with.
Lastly, I’m not wild about the choreography either, but the standard at SM is rather high. For any of you that have been fortunate to take master classes with Rino Nakasone [who is SM's current go-to for choreo], you’ll know that she means business and her combinations are no joke. The fact that any of the kids in SM can pull off her choreography is something worth paying attention to.
Forget the fact that the leader of the group can’t even speak enough Korean to speak to the media, forget that SM is trying to push the envelope by putting out some wack material, just look at the girls and their amazing work ethic. They’re talented, beautiful, and have a lot to offer as artists.

No, Amber DOESN’T have flux. Yeah, it’s mainly the songwriter’s fault because it’s not Amber who writes the lyrics/song (who does nowadays, anyway without it sounding bad or plagarized?), but she’s struggling to flow. *CL* is a rapper. *CL* has swagger. And although CL looks like a mountain troll and wears reguritated Goodwill clothing, she’s a good rapper. Amber is terrible. I know you like her and creme your pants over her, but…WORK ETHIC? If you lack skills for a job, you get fired, regardless of your work ethic. Yeah, we’re all aware SM is tough. But guess what? They knew what they were signing up for. I am the audience and I want something breathtaking and awesome…that’s what I’m here for, and that’s what they have to deliver.

i think they are doing well considering their age in terms of vocal and dance. they can actually sing while dancing/dance while singing.
charisma and stage presence? common, it’s evident they have them.
it’s just my feeling but i think sm’s doing a great job in terms of the girls’ image. AND, i strongly believe that the image these girls project on cam are their real or closer to their real personality.
so, if you don’t like them, their video or their style,
you can say it but not to the point of insulting them because probably a good half of the teenage population even the young adult can not do what they are doing. they are young yet they are professional when it comes to their job. the execution of their dance is almost flawless and they sing well. few kpop (if there’s any) girl group can do these.
and amber, good quality of voice, i think nothing’s wrong with the flow of her rap. She has her own style of rapping. Whoever said that there’s a generic style for rapping that everyone should follow? plus, she still has time to improve as she’s only been traininng last year. given the situation, my hat’s off to amber for a good well done.
not being bias as i also like other kpop girl groups but f(x) is a dark horse in the competition. they have a LOT to offer both in talents and looks. remember, they are still young which means they only get better as they gain more experience and confidence in the process of mastering their craft.

Actually, I was realy nervous when this group came out of the KPOP scene as I thought their teaser for Lachata was really giving me the scary feeling that they are going to surpass 2NE1… But after the release of the song, I was relieved as the song was a flop…didn’t even make it to the KPOP charts… Now this Chu song calmed my heart again… Since this song isn’ta flop, but a “crap”…
Seriously, 4minute is a better competition than this and I like the songs coming from 2NE1 and 4minute,…. The true blue beautiful songs coming from these two groups.
