The SBS drama “You’re Beautiful” (미남이시네요), also called “You’re Handsome,” stars Jang Geun-suk (Beethoven Virus), Park Shin-hye (Goong S), Lee Hong-ki from F.T Island, and new-comer/indie rookie Jung Yong-hwa from pop act, C.N Blue.
The storyline revolves around an idol boy band, A.N.JELL. The leader is Hwang Tae-kyung (Jang Geun-suk), an easily-agitated, almost-OCD musical genius, though his vocals are slightly lacking. Jung Yong-hwa plays the cool, calm, and “manly” guitarist Kang Shin-woo. The third and final member is Jeremy (Lee Hong-ki), the blond-hair drum player from Korea and a seemingly royal English descent (though he never speaks English). Jeremy is a fresh and fun character, who loves acting cutesy and throwing parties.
Park Shin-hye, plays a clumsy nun-in-training, Go Mi-nyuh. Her twin brother, Go Mi-nam, gets a coveted spot in the top idol group, A.N.JELL, in order to add some vocal help. However, the brother has an accident and must leave the country. Thus, the manager seeks out the sister to fill in until her brother can return. Thus, Go Mi-nyuh becomes Go Mi-nam in order fulfill her brother’s dream and find their mother, who left them as children. She has to perform with A.N.JELL without revealing to the world she is a girl.
Of course, after joining A.N.JELL, the members slowly start growing fond of Go Mi-nam, as a girl. It’s an interesting gender-bending, high-profile love situation. The main love triangle in the drama happens between Go Mi-nam, Hwang Tae-kyung (Jang Geun-suk), and Kang Shin-woo (Jung Yong-hwa).
Afterschool’s UEE also takes the role of a fake, evil princess as a female rival to Go Mi-nam. She plays the two-faced Yoo Hye-ee (un)surprisingly well. Because of her liking of Hwang Tae-kyung, Yoo Hye-ee is determined to ruin Go Mi-nam’s career and love life.
The drama has a good mix of drama and humor, with the band manager and Jeremy (Lee Hong-ki) adding just enough comic relief to keep it from becoming tiring.
So far, the season is onto its 12th episode in the 16 episode series. Unfortunately, the ratings are low because it shares a time-slot with the big-budgeted and wildly popular IRIS (아이리스, KBS 2TV). However, the drama is remarkably high in download rates from internet portals. In addition, the OST, including songs sung by the members of A.N.JELL, are in top songs lists on Korean music sites.

I love this drama! It’s got everything in it and it doesn’t feel draggy to me at all. In fact I HOPE, WISH, that they’ll extend the drama to 20 episodes! I think PSH is beautiful. She looks cute for a guy and pretty as a girl. Perfect actress for the part. And the guys are good looking in each of their own way! Love! Love! Love it!

this drama drives me crazy! waiting for a week is just excruciating! never been this hooked before since “my girl”…
I already fell in love with this drama and four main cast(especially Jang Geun Suk and Park Shin Hye) since episode 1.
This is the best drama I’ve ever seen. Even its local rating is low, YAB got so much love from loads of international fans and it is #1 in many portal sites. YAB is so addicted and all fans (including me) are going to be crazy for waiting 2 episodes per week, every episode is really entertaining.
So sad that only left 4 episodes till final ep16.

i love watching it not only for the eye-candy cast but for it’s good and humorous storyline…it’s much stress reliever…
there seems to be a lot more material that may be used for more episodes…so i don’t think they wouldn’t have any problem with it…
for me you’re beautiful is one of the best kdrama…too bad it’s competed against iris…i haven’t seen iris so i can’t really complain about it…

I admit, this drama is my guilty pleasure! Not that I even feel guilty for watching this, it is just so addicting that it’s on my mind 24/7 and waiting for the next episode just kills me inside! I love the acting team and their awesome acting skill, but the looks are just OH MY GOD! I love the fashion on the show to, the hair and makeup and style is all very nice and chic/cute. AHH I can’t wait til thursday for ep 13, and since I need subs, I have to wait a day later! LOVE THIS DRAMA AND DON’T WANT IT TO END <3
Just found out that they are going to film last two eps in Japan. I can’t wait. Hopefully, the producer can hear our voice and will extend the drama to at least 18. I am so addicting to this drama and just don’t want it to end. Indeed, I have rewatched the 12 eps like nth times. lol

This drama is a rip off of other dramas out there and it must be said, even if I do like the actors, the acting of the two main leads is painful to watch and annoying…!!!!!!!!!!
maybe your face is painful to even look, seriously can you even act, just because it kinda similar to other dramas it doesn’t mean that they totally copieda drama
rip off? are you serious? you must me fooling yourself. you can dislike the drama but you can’t say rip off of the other dramas. i think you didn’t watch this drama. they’re just giving refer to/cast back the other dramas. (i don’t know how can i explain this with the right word but i think “refer to” or “cast back” are the right sentence) for example when jolie give a lick to her and when the manager imagining go mi nam they’re making a scene from “temptation of wife” there was too many example like that and that kind of cast backs are doing in too many dramas especialy in funny ones.

gosh, i’ve been addicted to this drama since it started… i kept on following every episode at mysoju.com! i think this is the best drama next to Coffee Prince. they have same genre yet different plot and storyline. Love this!!!
i have commented in some article b4 that even though Iris is getting all the ratings on TV in Korea…they should also count in the viewers around the world who watch You’re Beautiful through the internet.
I thought at first it would be another Coffee Prince or Hana Kimi sort of thing..but it’s different and I really love each and everyone of the cast including the very cunning UEE (nice evil acting btw). The Hong sisters have really made a fun and wonderful drama here.
Hope the Korean fans of the show somehow get SBS to extend it. I’m not yet ready to let go by epi 16…whaaa
i watch too many k-drama but this drama is the best for me with the cast, the script and the ost. i’m so sad cause its only left 4 episode so please make it 20 episode. and i hope i can see a wedding for go minam and tae kyung in the final or after the final with a movie or something else. i want a big happy final
