Andre Kim should have used some of that black shoe polish to paint his feet. Maybe this way, someone will mistake him for wearing shoes- like the black hair on his head.

The feet exposure is a sign that the fashion designer is letting out the extra steam escape from his spacesuit through his feet. Smart move in the hot tropical weather of Bali, Indonesia.

On August 25th, 2008, the 73 year old designer showed his collection at the International Bali Fashion Week 2008 with stars, Han Chae-young and Park Shi-hu in tow.

As for Andre fashion collection, nothing new to note.

The “Proud Korean Awards were held by the Journalist Federation of Korea on December 28^th 2007. As the name implies, 14 individuals were recognized for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields.

Andre “Alien” Kim snapped up an award for his other worldly fashions. Although his other-worldly fashions is less than palatable, his influence to make no names into stars cannot be denied (think Won Bin). However, if the awards were for “best” fashion designer, then the painted head would not be a contender.

The other award winner is JYP for his contribution to Korean culture. Was it his role as producer or singer that got him the award? Either way, if we look at his contribution to the music industry with a discerning eye, he promoted under aged girls in school outfits to dance in a seductive way, he teamed up with a pedophile & R&B singer/producer R. Kelly, and he released a new album this year while putting on hold the careers of the up and coming stars (i.e. Min and G-Soul) to satisfy his own insatiable hunger as a media whore. That’s JYP in a nutshell.

So with Andre the Alien representing the cutting-edge fashions of Korea and JYP’s overtly sexualized contribution to Korean culture, we can all sleep well at night.

Jeon Do-yeon (below) also won a “Proud Korean Award” for her contribution to the movie industry (acting). I guess it’s a nod to her best actress win at Cannes 2007 for her role in Secret Sunshine.

Why is almost everyone wearing black? At Ahn Jae-hwan and Jung Sun-hee’s happy wedding today at the Hyatt Hotel, friends of the newlyweds showed their respect by wearing black. Are we missing something?

Freaked you out right? The picture of Alien Andre has been photoshopped onto a body of a baby. Sccaryy! Just imagine having this sitting oh-so casually on the sofa at your home.

Andre the Alien confessed that he turned down fellow alien and king of pop, Micheal Jackson when the gloved one asked him to be his personal designer way back when. During a recent interview, Andre mentioned that he felt that it was more important to serve the Korean public with his ele-gan-ce because without him, we might all be running around like aliens in white spacesuits.

How low can you go? Apparently, down to the belly button is all good for these female celebrities at the 12th Pusan Film Festival red carpet last night! And if downstream necklines are not good enough, then upstream slits are another option. Hell, why not just take off all your clothes since there is little left to the imagination with some of these outfits (*cough* Kim Soyeon).

Choi Jung Won is almost camouflaged in this red mermaid gown with the red carpet. You might not be able to see her if it weren’t for the black clutch.

Eugene. Didn’t realize that Ms. Eugene was so well-endowed. This long silver dress doesn’t do them justice. I say, take it all off! Or at the very least, wear something more plunging to show off some cleavage.

Choi Kang Hee wears a short strapless black dress. Yawn.

Hur E-jae (from Goong S) is fierce in this punk chic casual outfit. The girl’s attitude and the wind blown hair adds to the allure of this unconventional look. Cute.

Hyun Young shows off her long stems with a thigh-high slit and also her ample cleavage in this very fitted gray dress. The body says it all!

Kang Songyeon. Ah yes, What to say about this outfit….? It is sexy? No not really. Maybe it’s the bangs that kills the effect, but despite the navel low neckline, it’s doesn’t wow.

Kong Hyojin. Miss Kong is always on the cutting edge of fashion (and that’s putting it nicely). Not sure what is up with this blue frizziness that is suppose to be a heart at the front of this dress? The fabric looks like it’s yarn – and that combined with plastic black is just damn nasty. And her parted in the middle unkempt hair makes her look like a granny and her bright pink lipstick clashes with everything. Dang woman, you need to get a stylist asap.

Kang Eunbi is basic in black halter sweetheart neckline strapless dress. The sweetheart neckline is flattering.

Park Jin Hee. This woman knows how to rock a dress! This sexy zippered number is smokin hot hot hot! Love the aqua blue leopard print lining that peeks out from the crotch high slit. This tightly tailored little number is hella sexy – it’s the zipper that does it! All it takes to get out of the dress is a one swift flick of the wrist….

Hmm, I wish that she wore sexier and higher stilettos. Shoes are not up to par with the dress.

Kim Minsun plays it safe in a beaded black satin gown.

Kim Soyeon leaves little to the imagination in this extremely flimsy but dangerous dress. Luckily, Ms Kim has definitely got the body to pull it off – the front is not too bad and even her butt doesn’t look half-bad. However, the top of the dress is held on very precariously by the straps on the back (?) and well, one strong and strategic gust of wind is all that is needed to blow this dress off. Even bending too far to the side could cause unnecessary exposure- like a breast slipping out….

Kang Su-yeon doesn’t realize that length of a dress is crucial if you don’t want to look like you have stumpy moos. And that’s what she has in this outfit.

Lee Soyeon sparkles in this short sweet beaded number.

Su-ae wears a bronze gown. Brown is difficult to wear and a brown gown is even more so. This shade is not flattering.

Lim Sung yeon’s goodies are all in the back – the slit and the low-cut back. The dress seems difficult to walk in….

Um Jung-hwa is elegant in this brown dress with plunging neckline and a feather in her hair. Hmm. maybe the feather is pushing it, but the brown dress and sapphire blue clutch go nicely together. Lee Dong-gun looks like he wants to be somewhere else.

Yun Eun Hye.OOOOOOOOh why???????? She literally looks like she is wearing a paper bag!! Why not wear one over her head too? At the very least, the bag over the head would match the dress.

Uhm Ji-Won is old Hollywood glam with the pin curls and ruby red lipstick. Her dress is similar to Ms Uhm’s, but has a different feel…

Koh A-ra and Lee Yeon Hee = devilishly sexy in black and innocent angel in white? Hmmmm.

Now the men……

Kim Taewoo needs to put his collar down. Hate it when Korean men turn up their collars thinking that is cool. It’s not cool. And no one except themselves think that.

Jung Il-woo is a mop head in a suit.

Jang Hyuk (Thank you star) looks fab except for the cheap looking brown heels. Why?

Daniel Henney is going with the flow in a 3-piece gray suit but it is 2 sizes too small – his pants too tight, sleeve and jacket length are too short…. oh, what a waste of eye candy. Imagine if he was wearing a suit that actually fit, he would be smokin…

Lee Jung Jin is hot, and he can almost get away with wearing this white n’ black trimmed suit if it fit better. At closer inspection, the jacket is sadly too baggy and the pants look a bit too tight to be white.

Ji Jinhee with loosened up tie and collar up is a no-no. Either have the tie on, or don’t have one at all.

Daniel Dae Kim. Every time I hear Daniel Dae Kim’s name, I think “Daniel Day Lewis”. Don’t ask why. The Lost cast member looked aged in this picture…

And now, presenting the “In between”

Andre, the Alien in his signature outfit. If he wears anything else, it will be a sign that hell has frozen over.

Stars sashayed onto the red carpet for the 15^th Chunsa Film Festival all wearing their safety black dress. The heavy downpour of rain did not affect their perfectly coiffed hair, instead it encouraged the top stars to leave the event right after the photoshoot or receiving their award, while the audience shivered in the rain until the end to congratulate the last winner. No wonder top stars have a bad rep in the industry – they have no respect, even for people who voted to give them an award. How rude!

Kim A-Joong is bagging every award in the industry for her mediocre performance in 200 Pound Beauty. The movie was entertaining, but it wasn’t that great for her to be taking home every award. Talk about luck. As for the outfit ? the girl knows how to dress for a movie event. The black dress is elegant, love the unbalance puff at the top and the red clutch is perfecto!

Glamorous actress, Kim Hye-su is elegant in this fitted brown dress with leather trimming and tortoiseshell accessories. This dress is a departure from the usual plunging, cleavage revealing necklines that she usually prefers – or the netizens like to say “fan service” dresses. It’s good to see that you don’t have to wear micro minis or plunging necklines to be sexy and elegant.

CF queen, Lee Young-ae is boring in a plain black dress. Nothing special. This is something I would wear to work.

The handsome Choi Min-su and his kyopo wife are twins in black suits and white dress suits. I guess that’s what happens when you get married. Not only do you starting dress alike, next thing you know, you will start looking alike too…

Hong Su-yeon must be thinking that she’s attending a movie premiere of “My Wife is a Gangster.” That outfit is not ready carpet attire. And the hair! It’s quite creepy.

His fineness, Jang Dong-gun, is hot no matter what he is wearing- even if it is a string for a tie! And his glasses adds that nerdy edge to his cool guy image. Hot.

Jang Nara is another star in boring black. Dang, the weather was not that bad!

Jo Han-sun does not know how to take natural poses. He looks so stiff in all his photos! Maybe he is constipated? As for the tuxedo, it looks like he’s the waiter.

Kim Hyun-suk wanted to wear a puffy white dress (thinking she is going to find a man to get married to- hello yangpa) but then decided at the last minute that she is the only one wearing a bright color so that’s why she has on a black suit jacket and pumps.

Lee Bo-young is boring. Another belted black mid-length dress with v-neckline.

Jung Kyung-ho loves his low cut shirts but he doesn’t have the body for it. You need that sexy man cleavage, i.e. pecs for such shirts.

Lee Da-Hae wears a v-neck, long black dress. What else is new? Did everyone get their dress at the same place?

Um Jiwon is black, v-neck, short dress. ugh.

Yoo In-young is in black too. yawn.

So Yujin is in an unflattering bronze colored dress which seems a bit too big. Now we are getting to something interesting.

Miss Korea 2007, Lee Ji Sun is in another Andre Kim creation. Poor girl. No, not really.

Lim Sung-min is in an elegant plum satin gown.

Lee Sae-eun forgot the rest of her dress. The combination of plunging neckline plus the micro-short length does not equate to classy. Just desperate for attention.

Why oh why do celebrities don on these atrocious looking clothes for a spray-painted helmet head of a designer? Ivy, Sohn Ho-young, Park Sol-mi, Jo Hyun-jae and Tim were models for Andre “the Alien” Kim’s fashions for the 2008 Beijing International Festival on July 12th.

Resident alien and fashion designer extraordinare, Andre Kim has been off the entertainment radar for a while, but POPSEOUL! has spotted the white extraterrestrial at the opening of the Monet exhibition “From Instant to Eternity” with none other than Ms Universe contestant, the dazzling Ms. Honey Lee (and Song Yoon-a sandwiched in the middle) at the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA).

The Monet exhibition, “From Instant to Eternity” runs from June 06 to September 26th, 2007 at the Seoul Museum of Art.*

“Alien” Andre Kim was spotted at the 07/08 Fall/Winter Seoul Collections wearing his signature white outfit and sad tartan scarf.  This time he has managed to do a good job painting his hair cauz he doesn’t have the black ear. That’s positive, I guess….
