Joo Ji-hoon (Antique, 2008) is going to shut down his homepage at the end of the year, and then go off to the military.

Last April, the 27 year old actor was indicted for drug use. After pleading guilty to drug use, in June, he was sentenced to six months of jail with one year of probation (a suspended sentence) and 120 hours of community service, plus a penalty of 360,000 won ($310). Joo Ji-hoon completed his community service last August, and now he is preparing to enter his mandatory 2-year military service.

Because of his age (27), he is set to join the ranks next year, but it may be delayed. However, his official website will officially shut down on December 1st.

Last September, Joo Ji-hoon posted a message to his fans on his homepage:

It’s been really long since I last saw everyone. I am feeling emotional now, very sorry and pained all this time. The most important thing is that I miss everyone and feel sorry…

I have received all your emails and letters, and I will hold onto them. I’m trying to live my life to the fullest everyday, so please don’t worry about me…

“Everyone can see how bad I was in my moment of foolishness. I promise that I will not repeat the same mistake again so that everyone can see a better Joo Ji-hoon.

Another one off to serve his mandatory military service.

This afternoon, 27-year-old actor, Lee Kiwoo (Star’s Lovers) is off to serve his country. With his military buzz cut, he looks great!

All physically-able Korean men are to serve in the military, usually in their early-twenties, but many stars these days tend to delay their service until their late-twenties. Last month, entertainer Boom left to join the ranks, and now Lee Kiwoo is off to get 5 weeks of basic training before his 2 years in service.

Fans came out to say goodbye, and the new military man expressed his gratitude and promised, “I’ll come back.”

Shinhwa’s Jun Jin joins his fellow teammates Eric and Kim Dong-wan in the army. Sent off by his fans and cool dad Charlie Park, Jun Jin enlisted for his compulsory military service on October 22nd at the Chung-nam Non-san army training base.

It was only in 2008 that Shinhwa hit their tenth anniversary together. With no signs of officially breaking up, Jun Jin looks forward to a special concert for Shinhwa’s fifteenth anniversary in the future.

We’ll look forward to it too!

Bbeckga (Baek Sung-hyun), the hobo, rapping photographer of Koyotae, will be enlisting for his military service on the 15th. That’s the same day DJ Tukutz of Epik High will also be leaving for his military service, but at least Bbeckga doesn’t have a wife he has to leave behind.

However, luckily for Bbeckga it looks like he will still be able to spend time with his BFF Rain, since he will be serving his duty as a public service worker. Basically, that just means he will be sitting at a desk every day, returning home every night and just be restricted from showing his face on TV for the next two years.

Goodbye Bbeckga, Kim Jong-min will do a very good job of filling your empty spot, once he’s discharged later this year.

After all that drama with drugs, Joo Ji-hoon will be enlisting in the army by the end of this year.

Joo Ji-hoon, who recently plead guilty for doing drugs, has just finished his 120 hours of community service, earlier today. Since the start of August, Joo Ji-hoon has been serving 8 hours of community service per day, helping out the elderly and handicapped at a welfare center in Songpagu. Apparently, the actor has cut his hair short and has been dedicated to completing his service, hoping to make up for his mistake. A representative of his agency stated,

He has been doing community service until earlier this morning and has completed his hours earlier today. It was hard for him to adapt at first, but after he did, he has been working hard and is now sad to be parting with everyone. Joo Ji-hoon seems to have learned a lot through his recent service for the community.

Joo Ji-hoon’s agency has also stated that the actor will be enlisting in the army before the year ends. They have already applied for Joo Ji-hoon to enlist and are currently waiting for a reply with the actor’s enlisting date.

Normally, by law it’s not possible for one to enlist in the army if they are sentenced to one year or more in prison. However, since Joo Ji-hoon was sentenced to less than a year in prison and one year of probation, he is allowed to enlist in the army.

Truthfully, Joo Ji-hoon is better off enlisting in the army since he was sentenced to one year of probation anyways. It’s far better than sitting around doing nothing for a year, no? Although two years isn’t enough time for his fans or the public to completely forget about this incident, it’s more than enough time for things to tone down a bit. Hopefully, after he finishes his term in the army, he’ll be able to make a noticeable comeback and win back the hearts of his fans.

The time has come for Kim Rae-won to give up two years of his career, in order to serve his country.

Kim Rae-won has left for his four week basic military training in Nonsan on the 13th. However, after his training, Kim Rae-won will be unable to serve his two year term as a military soldier of Korea. Back in April, Kim Rae-won was diagnosed with degenerative lower back pain and was ordered to serve as a public duty official instead. Basically this means he will be sitting at an office desk and doing paper work for the next two years, after he completes his four week training.

That still means he will be unable to carry out any promotional activities as a celebrity for the next 2 years. So, all you Kim Rae-won fans will have to substitute the puppy eyed actor for some other eye candy for the time being.

Although Lee Dong-gun has denied rumors that he will be carted off for his military service in July, he cannot runaway from the Korean military for long.

After postponing his duty several times, the 29 year old actor will be enlisted on July 22nd. Knowing that he has no choice, Lee Dong-gun finally gave in. As a farewell, a fan meeting will be arranged in Kangnam on July 18th.

Lee Dong-gun will serve his country for approximately 2 years.

May has already come and gone, and Shinhwa’s sexy man Lee Min-woo has yet to enlist for his compulsory military service as he previously stated he would. That’s all fine and dandy though because at least he is staying busy. He released his fourth solo album, “M Rizing,” last September, and now M is currently working on his second mini-album, Minnovation, which was originally supposed to be released on June 9th. However, it has been announced that the date has been pushed back to June 26th to allow more time for M to “perfect the album.”

Take all the time you need, “Mister.” Either way, you’re still going to have to join your buddies Eric Mun and Kim Dong-wan behind the barracks soon enough.

The former “Goong” star has officially joined the army to fulfill his civic duty as a Korean citizen on April 28, 2009.

Although most people may not recognize him due to his low profile in Korea for the past two years, Kim Jung-hoon still holds a steady fan base. With 800 fans present at his check-in center in Gyongido,the man has more fans than the bigger named stars who enlisted before him.

With his entrance into the army, only one thing is definite- the second part of “Goong” that many fans across the world have been hoping for will efinitely be on hold for another two years but then again, with Joo Ji Hoon’s recent fiasco it may indefinitely be on hiatus.

The effeminate actor has been carted off for 25 months to serve his country in the Airforce. However, since he is an actor, he won’t be putting in his honest time as a regular soldier. Instead,  the “Frozen Flower” movie star will represent as a special ops for culture.  So who did he have to pay off to get this sweet gig?

Lee Jin-wook, the younger boyfriend of cougar, Choi Ji-woo, will be leaving for his military service on May 6th.

The 28 year old confessed that he is actually volunteered to begin his training earlier than scheduled. Why? Is he trying to run away from his demanding girlfriend? Well, we don’t know.

The answer lies in a recent interview, where he stated, “As a male citizen of Korea, the military is something all men must experience so I didn’t hesitate to go earlier. I want to come back having learned and experienced new things through my time in the military.”  Sure. Sure.

Before he leaves for his 6 week training, Lee Jin-wook will have a fan meeting with his Japanese fan’s at the Hangang River park in Korea.

Not that we at POPSEOUL have any problems with Japan but seriously, what is up with these male celebrities and ending their activities before joining the military in Japan or with their Japanese fans? What about their Korean fans? Do their fans in Korea not make them enough money?

On a side note, everyone in Korea seems to be more curious about whether his girlfriend Choi Ji-Woo will be there on the day he enlists.

Another B-list celebrity of Korea, Kim Jung-hoon of the little known duo ‘UN’, will leave for his 6 week training this coming 28th. Known more for his role in the drama ‘Imperial Palace’ rather than singing, the 29 year old is set to release a single-album in Japan before he officially enlists (to try to rake in as much money to last him 2 long years of his military service).  Well, good luck to him. There isn’t going to be many records sales if no one knows who you are.
